Museum Susch Opening - Kunsthalle in Engadin
On January 2, 2019, we traveled by train to the tiny village of Susch to take in the opening of Museum Susch in Engadin. More about the museum can be found on the web site
Quoting from the web site:
Located in the valley of the river Inn, amongst the remnants of a medieval monastery and set against the backdrop of alpine mountains, open to the public from 2 January 2019 is MUZEUM SUSCH: a new addition to the matrix of experimentation and novel approaches to art in response to the enchanting surroundings of Engadin.
The former vicarage, the hospice and the economic building were parts of a rural monastery founded in 1157 after Flüela Pass, on the pilgrim’s path to Rome and Santiago de Compostela. A brewery building was added in the 19th century, situated above a naturally-occurring mountain water source. To house MUZEUM SUSCH, the existing structures are subtly restored and recombined in a complex form, an inspiring environment for artistic production and mediation, a diverse ensemble encouraging exploratory journeys for visitors and introducing spaces for exhibitions and experimental presentations, performances and lectures as well as a residency programme.
MUZEUM SUSCH is a space for argument and research relying on the laboratory character of a Kunsthalle. Founded by Grażyna Kulczyk, the Polish entrepreneur and long-term supporter of contemporary art, it is specifically (but not exclusively) informed by a deep understanding of woman artists and seeks an emotional connection to art as a matrilineage of the sometimes omitted, overlooked or misread. It aims to contribute to the recognition and greater visibility of artists and artworks which resonate these concerns, which have informed a collection focussed on conceptual art and female artists with a natural input of Central Eastern European art that is still underrepresented in reunited Europe. Thus one of the central qualities of MUZEUM SUSCH and its activities is the redefinition of the canonical and the marginalized, not as a dominating force silencing others but as an influential voice for making other voices heard.

Scuol Engadin Switzerland Typical Houses
A typical Engadine house in Scuol (Engadine) _ Switzerland
The Engadinerhaus is a farmhouse type from the Engadin, the Vinschgau and the Tyrolean Oberinntal.
Typical for the Engadin house are the massive stone walls, often decorated with the sgraffito technique, the deep windows, the bay windows and the two entrance gates in the Sulèr and the stable at the front.
It is a three-storey residential house.
The Engadinerhaus
The Chesa Wazzau is a typical Engadine farmhouse: a massive stone structure with a wide saddle roof, a large doorway and small windows that are deeply embedded in the walls. House edges, archways and window frames are decorated with sgraffiti, composed of ornaments, drawings and pictures. The Engadine farmer has always kept his entire property in a building: a dwelling-house, cowshed and hay-barn, a storey, a cellar and a covered yard are united under one roof, a large barn door separates the Sulér from the Heustall.
Characteristic of an Engadine house are also the small windows, which look like shooting ranges: the smaller the windows, the less heat gives the house to the outside. In order to get as much light as possible into the living quarters, the windows are built outwards like funnels. The room windows are aligned to the street or the forecourt - after all, you want to know what is happening in the village.
Capital of the Unterengadin, consists of the villages of Scuol-case Scuol.
The charm of the place is unique, enriched by the many mineral springs: the world with its famous thermal baths, with thermal swimming pool Bogn Engiadina Scuol and the first Turkish bath in Switzerland, Scuol is one of the most important destination for holiday, health and wellness ,

Interlaken & Zurich, Switzerland - Nov 2019
A video for my trip to Interlaken and Zurich, Switzerland during the weekend of November 7th-10th, 2019.
I started recording late in the first day, so I wasn't able to include the first half of that day in this video. We saw some amazing views and went to this place called Funky Chocolate in Interlaken.
The next day was amazing. We got up early to go paragliding. The bus took us high up into the snowy mountains and from there we jumped off and we were treated to some amazing views. Then we rode the funicular to Harder Kulm, where you get a great view of Interlaken, the two lakes, and the alps. Finally, we took a bus to a beautiful nearby town called Lauderbrunnen that was located in a valley between the alps.
The last day was spent exploring Zurich. Our train was super early so we got amazing views of the sunrise over the lakes and the alps. Zurich was a pretty and relaxed city that I really liked. The FIFA museum was a highlight for me as I got to see the actual World Cup trophy, which is housed there in between tournaments.
Switzerland was one of the greatest 3 days of my life, I hope you enjoy the video! :)

SANT MORITZ ART MASTERS the best of the best 2007 - 2011 by FashionChannel
From 21 to 30 August 2015, exhibitions, workshops, meetings, lectures and much more will illustrate how the history of Italian creativity influenced cultural developments in Europe and the rest of the world throughout the twentieth century, from the latter phase of the Industrial Revolution to the interwar period and on to the post-war economic boom and the inexorable rise of Made in Italy.
Following up on previous editions devoted to Brazil, China and India, all emerging nations by definition, St. Moritz Art Masters now has turned its magnifying glass to focus on Switzerland’s immediate southern neighbour, known affectionately as the Bel Paese. Not that the choice is in any way random: in the year when Milan is hosting the Expo, the world is looking at Italy with fresh curiosity and attention, hoping for an economic and social renaissance that can only be generated with the aid of art and culture.

Weekend trip to Pontresina to try and climb the Piz Bernina via the infamous Biancograt. Unfortunately the conditions were too hot for a summit push so we had to rappel and downclimb again. Still a fun trip, and definitely not our last time there.
