Torquay Harbour Walk, South Devon, England
Torquay Harbour Walk, South Devon, England - I spent this Christmas, 2017, in England's South-West, in the county of Devon. Torquay is the most popular holiday resort for English people holidaying in this country, and here I go for a walk in the town's harbour district and along some of the sea front, and also take a look at the lower part of the town's shopping area.
ABOUT ALPHATUCANA
This channel is about 'waking up' from our matrix-induced slumber, and about leaving the World a better place than we found it. For most of us, our powers and motivation are strictly limited. We are fundamentally alone in a vast and mysterious Universe, but In the struggle to survive, to 'succeed', or to just get by, we sometimes forget the bigger picture, and we sometimes forget to just relax for a while and remember what an amazing World this is. There is plenty to look at: science, Nature, society... And there are plenty of games to help us get away from it all... So on this channel, I vlog about science, Nature, enlightenment, current affairs and much else besides, I upload sightseeing videos showing London, England, or my holidays elsewhere, and I upload gameplay videos. So why not join in for a while and see what you think?
POSTING SCHEDULE
This depends in part on whether I have had time to record videos in between going to work and living the rest of my life! Usually it runs like this:
- Most weekends: a vlog or sightseeing video.
- Gameplay videos: pretty random - typically at midday on weekdays, but not all the time.
- If I have something extra to post it usually appears at some random time :) I may livestream occasionally too.

Ambient England: Watcombe Beach, Torbay, Devon
The ambient environmental sounds of Watcombe Beach in Torquay, or Torbay as the area is known, in Devon, England, recorded in Winter 2014, I think. The view changes every 10 minutes or so. Just relax and enjoy the sounds, or maybe meditate to the view.
I wasn't able to to much about the wind noise near the beginning, but it clears up somewhat as the video goes on. Also, that strange squirmy effect you see from time-to-time appears to have been caused by my camcorder's motion sensing function getting confused by the waves! I've turned that off permanently since recording this video.

Places to see in ( Paignton - UK )
Places to see in ( Paignton - UK )
Paignton is a seaside town on the coast of Tor Bay in Devon, England. Together with Torquay and Brixham it forms the borough of Torbay which was created in 1998. The Torbay area is a holiday destination known as the English Riviera.
Paignton has origins as a Celtic settlement and was first mentioned in 1086. Paignton grew as a small fishing village and a new harbour was built in 1847. A railway line was opened to passengers in 1859 creating links to Torquay and London. As its population increased, it merged with the villages of Goodrington and Preston.
The railway line to Paignton was built by the Dartmouth and Torbay Railway, and opened to passengers on 2 August 1859, providing Torquay and Paignton with a link to London. The Paignton Pudding, first made in the 13th century, is the origin of the nickname pudden eaters for the people of Paignton. The puddings were made infrequently and were of great size.
Paignton's economy relies extensively on tourism and the town is marketed as a location for family holidays. The main seafront area is dominated by Paignton Pier. ourist attractions include Paignton Zoo and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway, which operates steam trains from Paignton to Kingswear, from where a ferry can be taken across the River Dart to Dartmouth. The line was closed by British Rail during the cutbacks of the Beeching era in the 1960s, and is operated today as a heritage railway line. Suttons Seeds, a supplier of seeds, bulbs and horticultural products, is based in Paignton.
The Torbay Picture House (now closed) is believed to have been Europe's oldest purpose-built cinema and was built in 1907. Seat 2 Row 2 of the circle was the favourite seat of crime novelist Agatha Christie, who lived in neighbouring Galmpton. The cinemas and theatres in her books are all said to be based on the Torbay Picture House. It was also used as a location for the 1984 Donald Sutherland film Ordeal by Innocence and the 1981 film The French Lieutenant's Woman (which was filmed mainly at Lyme Regis in Dorset).
The Royal Bijou Theatre is now demolished, but a blue plaque marking its former location can be found next to the Thomas Cook travel agency in Hyde Road. The theatre was the venue for the premiere of The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan on 30 December 1879.
Paignton beach and the nearby Preston Sands are used for water sports including kite surfing and dinghy sailing. The reed beds found at Broadsands beach are a haunt of the rare cirl bunting. Hollicombe beach, situated at Paignton's northern boundary with Torquay, features a geological stratotype at its northern end, known as the Corbyn's Head Member Elberry Cove is used by jetski enthusiasts, while Saltern Cove is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its distinctive geology.
Paignton railway station is situated close to the shops and a short walk from the beach along Torbay Road. Queen's Park Station for the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is adjacent to the main railway station on the beach side of the level crossing. The bus and coach station face the main entrance to the railway station. The other railway station in Paignton is Goodrington Sands (opened 1928), now part of the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
( Paignton - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Paignton . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Paignton - UK

Exploring Paignton Beach and Preston Sands in Torbay, Devon, England. The two beaches are really one beach with two names, as far as I can tell: the end near Paignton is one, and the end near Preston the other (I will leave it as an exercise for you to guess which is which).

The Fairmile sailing from Dartmouth UK to Slapton Sands, Torcross and Blackpool Sands.
With boat trips, ferry services, sightseeing cruises and excursions departing from Torquay, Brixham, Dartmouth, Dittisham and Totnes - Taking to the water is a must when visiting South Devon's beautiful bay home to the towns of Torquay and Brixham, or the South Hams picturesque port of Dartmouth or the medieval town of Totnes - so why not do it in style aboard the largest ship sailing in the area WW2 Heritage Ship 'Fairmile' or one of our other twelve vessels. Whether taking the ferry between Torquay or Brixham, jumping aboard the family friendly wildlife Seafari Cruise in search of dolphins, seals and natures wild little friends or of course visiting the home of the late Dame Agatha Christie at Greenway on a hill towering over the beautiful and serene River Dart by 1940's ship or vintage bus - services to Greenway House are available from Totnes, Dittisham and Dartmouth as frequent as every hour, Torquay and Brixham one service per day. If that wasn't enough why not have a go at fishing aboard one of our lucky catch boats. Finally a visit to the English Riviera wouldn't be the same without a cruise to Dartmouth our South Hams neighbour, the famous ancient naval riverside town - and what better way than by ship, landing you there for a few hours prior to returning. Our Dartmouth Ferry departs from Dartmouth at 2pm - History buffs will delight in taking part aboard the WW2 Grand Heritage Voyage or Premier Gold Cruise launched by HRH The Princess Royal which in addition to landing in Dartmouth (for those whom have joined from Torquay and Brixham) extends your trip for an afternoon sail to Slapton Sands, Torcross and Blackpool Sands where Exercise Tiger took place - the full scale rehearsal for the D'Day landings. Greenway Ferry and Pleasure Cruises offer a wide range of family boat trips which start in the English Riviera ports of Torquay (Princess Pier) and Brixham or the South Hams ports of Dartmouth, Totnes, Dittisham and Greenway. With thirteen vessels to choose from and being a Visit England award winning Quality Visitor Attraction and a member of Devon and the English Riviera Top Attractions you can relax in the knowledge that you will have a truly memorable experience for all the right reasons. So sit back, relax and enjoy a trip! You can even hire one of our boats, just for you! Music by Rick Clarke.
