The English Riviera Wheel
Soaring high over the beautiful harbour in the heart of the English Riviera at Torquay, the wheel is situated within the famous Pavilion Gardens, enjoying amazing views of the town and harbour.
The English Riviera Wheel is completely silent in operation incorporating the latest in observation wheel technology and design. A trip on the wheel takes approximately 12 minutes. Each gondola is enclosed for safety and comfort whatever the weather.
Step into one of the wheel's gondolas and be transported into the air. Gaze out over the skyline and see the surrounding area with a wonderous view in every direction. Fun, thrills, geography and history - all rolled into one!
With breathtaking 360 degree views almost 60 metres above The Princess Gardens. The Wheel offers a birds eye view of the English Riviera overlooking Torquay Harbour from a rare perspective. A ride on the Wheel is the perfect location for a special day out for everyone.
The English Riviera Wheel is provided by Mellors Group Events, working together with their partners and customers delivering events from concept through to reality.

Join me on a quick round of the wheel sighted by the Pavilions at Torquay,Devon. This is the start of the 2012 Agatha Christie extravaganza so there are dancers, singers, tents, rides, animals and of course boats in the marina. The best part is the Victorian flower gardens from above to see the shape and colour, the marina and all the boats and a lovely shot of the church on the hill, also look out for the Victorian Terrace.

Rise of the English Riviera Wheel
As the English Riviera Wheel returns to Torbay for a 5th year watch this time-lapse footage of the complicated construction.
The installation of the 60 metre high English Riviera Wheel structure, which is taller than Nelson’s Column, took a ten strong team ten days to complete, using high-tech hydraulic equipment, cranes and heavy lifting gear to build the 320 tonne structure; delivered by lorries designed to carry some of the heaviest loads permitted on British roads.
The English Riviera Wheel has been enthralling locals and visitors alike with magnificent and unparalleled views across Torbay for four years. Over that time hundreds of thousands of people have stepped aboard one of its 40 enclosed gondolas, which carry six people at a time, including wheelchair users.
