THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN QUEENSTOWN | Queenstown Travel Guide | New Zealand
Hey guys!
We had a blast in Queenstown during our first-ever trip to New Zealand. Queenstown is a beautiful resort destination in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. It perfectly sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, with the Remarkables mountain range in the background. Queenstown is known as the 'adventure capital of the world' - the list of adventures you can throw yourself into here is encyclopedic – from bungee jumping to alpine heliskiing to zip-lining to skydiving to jet boating...the list goes on and on and on. This town is a perfect destination for everyone from adrenaline and thrill-seekers to visitors who just want to chill out.
Here are our recommendations of things to see and do in Queenstown:
LAKE WAKATIPU
Lake Wakatipu is Queenstown’s crown jewel. Upon arriving in Queenstown, you will undoubtedly notice the huge lake the town sits adjacent to. The lake is the perfect place to experience what Queenstown has on offer.
SKYLINE GONDOLA + LUGE
A scenic ride on the iconic Skyline Gondola is a must-do Queenstown activity.
You’ll be carried 450 meters above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu to the top of Bob's Peak, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular 220-degree panorama with breath-taking views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Walter and Cecil Peak and, of course, Queenstown. When you get to the top, enjoy the spectacular views of Queenstown.
We purchased Gondola + 5 Luge Rides for $67. It is well worth the money for sure!
BUNGEE JUMPING
Want to conquer the bungy jumping in the land where they all began? Queenstown is the Bungy capital of New Zealand’s adventure industry, it’s ground-zero for commercial bungy jumping anywhere in the world.
The Kawarau Bungy Centre (AJ Hackett Bungy)
If you haven’t been to the Kawarau Bungy Centre, then you haven’t really been to Queenstown. This is the world home of bungy, birthplace of the adventurous spirit that has shaped Queenstown’s character and one of the most famous attractions in Queenstown, New Zealand.
QUEENSTOWN GARDEN
The Queenstown Gardens are just a few minutes walk from central Queenstown and offer a beautiful and tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle. The gardens are a popular place to take a picnic, relax with friends and family and enjoy the views of Lake Wakatipu. This is perfect for those who prefer a more relaxing activity in Queenstown.
ARROWTOWN
Arrowtown is a charming historic gold mining town in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. Arrowtown is located on the banks of the Arrow River and is just 20 minutes from Queenstown. This quiet and relaxing town is a must-visit if you are traveling to Queenstown.
SHOTOVER JET
Shotover Jet is the world-famous jet boat ride. This ultimate jet boat experience is the only way to access the spectacular Shotover Canyons. Get ready to experience gravity-defying stunts, the speeds of up to 90kmph, and hold on tight for the famous 360˚ spins and more.
We bought the early bird pass for $135 and purchased an additional of $60 for the photos and videos they took for our ride which we included in this video too.

Queenstown - New Zealand
This video is dedicated to all Queenstown residents and those who enjoy the best of New Zealand.
Queenstown, New Zealand, sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. Renowned for adventure sports, it’s also a base for exploring the region’s vineyards and historic mining towns. There's bungee jumping off Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge and jet-boating on the Shotover and Dart rivers. In winter, there's skiing on the slopes of The Remarkables and Coronet Peak.

Queenstown Bucket-List Adventures - New Zealand
Queenstown Bucket-List Adventures - New Zealand
My boyfriend and I have just ticked off a few incredible bucket list adventures in Queenstown New Zealand and I'm super excited to share them with you in today's video. I've wanted to skydive for years and finally got to experience that incredible feeling of throwing myself out of a plane at 15,000 ft thanks to the amazing team at NZONE Queenstown. Doing a skydive has been one of the most thrilling things I've ever done and to get the chance to do it in one of the most beautiful places on earth (and with my man) was just amazing. I also got to tick off a few other thrill-seeking adventures while we were away so today's video is all about our trip and what we got up to. If you ever get the chance to head to New Zealand's south island then Queenstown is an absolute must-see. There is something for everyone too. Whether you're into thrill-seeking or prefer a quieter getaway, then Queenstown really does offer it all - great scenery, cool cafes and restaurants, great people and loads of cool activities. We also stayed at an amazing minimalist hotel called mi-pad. It's New Zealand's only smart hotel and you can manage your stay via an app on your phone which acts as your very own personal virtual concierge - it's genius. If you want to find out more about mi-pad or to book your next stay you can take a look here:
Also mi-pad has just been nominated for a world travel award and you can vote for mi-pad here:
If you've ever been to Queenstown I'd love to hear what you got up to in the comments below and if you're keen to visit then I'd love to hear why too.
Anyway, thanks SO much for watching this video and I hope you enjoy my BF's cool Kiwi commentary too.
