Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
ALL pagodas in Bagan CLOSED! THIS is what you must do! | Bagan - Vlog #4
Why are the pagodas in Bagan closed in 2018? Where should you watch the sunrise now? Our Myanmar vlog will show you the trick we used to enjoy a beautiful sunrise on top of a SECRET pagoda, and we had it all to ourselves! This is definitely the best pagoda to visit when you're in Bagan!
Our next stop in Myanmar is the ancient city of Bagan. Filled with over 2200 pagodas, stretching back to the city's height almost 1000 years ago, Bagan is one of the pearls of Myanmar. Here, we sought to catch a glimpse of one of the renowned sunrises from atop of the pagodas. The sight exceeded our expectations and is something we won't forget easily!
Next up, we travel to Kalaw to start a multi-day trekking through the local villages on the way to Inle Lake.

First-Timer's Guide to Myanmar — Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Lashio | The Travel Intern
Myanmar. What an absolute stunner. On this adventure, we got to visit Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Inle Lake and Lashio!
Check out what we did here:
YANGON (00:23)
00:25 - Shwedagon Pagoda
Probably the most iconic landmark in Yangon — The Shwedagon Pagoda, which lights up at night and is truly a sight to behold.
BAGAN (00:37)
The best way to get around Bagan, both New Bagan and Old Bagan, is to rent an e-bike, or a normal bicycle would do!
00:58 - Bagan Hot Air Balloon Sunrise Experience
Famous for its hot air balloon ride, we hopped on the tour and got to experience it for ourselves! To catch the sunrise while floating and drifting amidst the clouds was so surreal.
01:15 - Lawkananda Pagoda
Situated on the top of the Irrawaddy River, this is not to be missed!
01:24 - Ananda Temple
Be awed by the beautiful and intricate architecture here.
01:34 - Wonders of Salay & Mount Popa Day Tour
Don't be detered by the 777 steps to reach the top — It is SO WORTH IT.
MANDALAY (01:47)
01:49 - Rv Nmai Hka Irrawaddy River Cruise
It might be 12 hours, but it was a good 12 hours, experiencing the seas and the journey from Bagan to Mandalay.
02:01 - U Bein Bridge
Either the sunrise, or the sunset, they are both spectacular. This bridge is the longest and oldest teakwood bridge in the world!
02:10 - Dee Dote Waterfall
Located deep in the mountainous region one hour away from Mandalay by car, lies this blue lagoon. The hike up to this sweet spot is WORTH IT!
02:34 - Mandalay Hill
WE KNOW it seems like you gotta hike all the time in Myanmar, but really, when you're at the top, don't you think you get the best views? :-)
INLE LAKE (02:49)
One of the must-dos if you're ever in Myanmar, is to get on a boat and explore the ins and outs of Inle Lake!
LASHIO (03:03)
03:08 - Gokteik Viaduct
The best way to travel to Lashio — by train! Get to admire the different landscapes of the countryside~
03:19 - Mountain Biking Exploration
Adrenaline junkies — This is for you! It's definitely not an easy bike path, let us assure you. But worth every bump on the road.
03:35 - Myanmar Adventure Outfitters
03:39 - Dark Horse Falls
Some of us didn't dare to cliff jump because it was THAT scary, but being up there and in the heart of all the action with other travellers made it one of our best moments during this trip!
04:01 - Homestay at Ban Khaw Village
We got to stay in a local homestay and immersed ourselves in the local culture. They were SO warm and friendly, and welcomed us with the biggest open arms ever. :-)
Would you go on the same adventure? :-D Let us know!

Bagan Temples Are CLOSED?! | Myanmar's Most Famous Sight Is Changing (HONEST REVIEW)
The iconic Bagan temples in Myanmar are a must see for any world traveller. But what is Bagan REALLY like to visit in 2020?
The experience of exploring the ruined temples is not what it used to be. Climbing temples to find rooftop views is becoming a thing of the past, with most temples now locked up and restricted to tourists.
But can you still find temples in Bagan with rooftop viewpoints? And should you STILL visit Bagan? We spent 3 days exploring the plains to find out.

BAGAN BALLOON SUNRISE + Temples and Bike Crash! (our camera broke!) | Myanmar Travel
Today was pretty eventful! We arrived to Bagan around 5am after traveling overnight on the luxurious JJ Express bus from Inle Lake. We hired an e-bike straight away to get us around the HUGE area in Bagan which once housed around 10,000 temples (now only around 2,000 stand), and managed to see the incredible sunrise and the hot air balloons that float over the complex.
We had a few bumps during the day, first, our camera broke then, we crashed the bike! Luckily both incidents could have been a lot worse!!

After seeing some of the sites yesterday, we decided to hire e-bikes to explore some of the temples and pagodas a bit further out! We thought it would be easy, but... they weren't. Bagan, located on the banks of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River, is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world with many dating from the 11th and 12th centuries. The shape and construction of each building is highly significant in Buddhism with each component part taking on spiritual meaning.

Approximately over three thousands remain today, in various states of disrepair.

Can You Climb Any Pagodas In Bagan (2019)? | Bagan, Myanmar
Our most anticipated city in Myanmar, we made it to Bagan to explore the ancient pagodas and temples dotted throughout the landscape. Staying in the most incredible hotel in the Old Bagan area, we explored temples today and tried to scout out any climbable temples in Bagan. After hiring a tuk-tuk driver to take us to all the best spots, we found incredible views of the skyline, and managed to climb supposedly the last pagoda you can get to the top of in Bagan! It wasn't EXACTLY as we expected though..

Yangon to Bagan By Bus | JJ Express VIP Overnight Coach, Myanmar
There are multiple ways to get from Yangon to Bagan — bus, train or plane. Considering cost, convenience, and duration, going from Yangon to Bagan by bus is the undeniable winner. Short daily flights within Myanmar are available, but are astronomically priced. Nope. The train is the cheapest option, but takes a hellish 17 hours. No thanks. Several bus companies run overnight between the two regions, costing just over $20 USD per person and last a mild 9 hours. We’ll take it.
We decided to go from Yangon to Bagan by JJ Express Overnight Coach, a popular VIP Luxury Bus operator that features reclining seats, AC, a (strange) complimentary snack box, and a HUGE list of American movies. We’ve come to love our overnight bus rides. :)

Hi friends! We’re Braden & Taylor, a newlywed couple from California living with a BAD case of the travel bug. In Fall 2018, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and packed two tiny suitcases to find out what it truly means to live life to the fullest. First and foremost, we vlog for ourselves — our channel is a living picture book of the memories we collect over the next months and years around the globe, traveling to over 60 countries by 2020. If there’s a place we haven’t been, it’s on our list!
Secondly, we document our life on the road for family, friends and strangers alike — if our videos help pass on the travel influenza, then we’ve done our job. ???? We don’t know where this trip will take us, but we promise to ourselves and to you that we will always present both the beautiful and the ugly, because no trip is perfect, and neither is our world. Don’t be shy — send us a shout out when we’re in your area, and be sure to subscribe + hit the bell to be notified of future videos!

Follow Us as we share with you our Day 2 in Bagan!
We hopped onto our rental car which we booked from Klook, and drove out to Mount Popa! Many interesting sights and sounds greeted us enroute. We even stopped by a shop which sells palm sugar and palm wine! Now we have a better understanding of how palm sugar and wine is made. We were also lucky enough to catch a glimpse of nuns collecting alms from shopkeepers. As we were approaching our destination, we started to see beggars lining the roads. Their hands were out-stretched and they were waving frantically at the fast-moving vehicles. Stray notes flew out from some as the car windows unwind, while others zipped by nonchalant to this sight. There were also locals asking for donations from passing vehicles for temples yet to be built.
After approximately 2 hours, we arrived in Popa village. It was choc-a-bloc with people! Locals were flooding to Mount Popa to pray for good luck and receive blessings for the new year ahead. We started our ascent, negotiating steep steps and keeping our balance amidst much shoving as the crowd forged on to the summit where the temples are. We arrived safely at the summit, took a short walk around to admire the scenery and appreciate the architecture before making our descent.
We made a pit-stop at Popa Mountain Resort for lunch. And it was upon arrival at this place that we realised we can get a very good view of Mount Popa! Haha… so much for all the pushing and shoving which was rather unpleasant at some points. We enjoyed our lunch with a view before visiting 3 temples in Old Bagan.
All in all, another day well spent in Bagan we must say!
We hope you enjoy this vlog! Let us know what you think in the comments section below. Also, feel free to ask us questions about Bagan and we will try our best to answer those!
