In preparation for our upcoming Mt. Fuji hike, we climbed 3 mountains in 8 hours during the beginning of Golden Week on April 29-30, 2016.

Sorry about the randomness of this video. This is the result of me accidentally leaving my video camera in my bag. Actually this is a pretty typical day in my life. I get some stupid idea in my head like I think I should get a harmonica then stupid, random things happen to me. This time I got stuck talking to a couple of Mormon Missionaries while I was walking in the city. By the time they left, I had walked so far that I had no idea where I was and wandered into a not-so-good part of town. So I just spent the rest of the day annoying hobos with my harmonica. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with my purchase.

Exploring Minoo Park, a quasi-national park in Japan just half an hour from Osaka. Beautiful, natural Japan - a complete contrast to the city!
Minoo Park (Mino / Minoh Park) is a country park less than 30 minutes from Osaka by train. A perfect day trip and a place to spend a relaxing few hours walking in the countryside. There's a fairly easy trail alongside a river, with shrines, temples, and cafes with Japanese street food and it ends at Mino Falls, a stunning 33m waterfall. The area's famous for maple leaves, which are stunning in the autumn colours. I tried momiji tempura, a local speciality: fried maple leaves!

Japanese Summer festival
I and Masa went to Ennoji to enjoy another Japanese Summer festival. There are lots of street foods for sale, activities to do and shows to watch. In this video you will see and learn more about what a Japanese festival is like. Although they are called street food, these food is not at all cheap. They are sold on the streets even much more expensive than fast food chains sometimes. Anyways, we did enjoy this event. If you are visiting in Summer time, there will definitely be one in the area and they last for about 4 days including of course the weekend.
#Matsuri (#祭) is the Japanese word for a festival or holiday. In Japan, festivals are usually sponsored by a local shrine or temple, though they can be secular.
