Kroatie Zadar summer
For such a small country, Croatia offers visitors an incredible range of landscapes: from the Mediterranean coast with its necklace of 1244 islands to the sunflower-gilded Slavonian plains, via pristine rivers and the wildlife-rich subalpine regions of Gorski kotar and the Velebit mountains. With seven World Heritage sites, eight National Parks and eleven Nature Parks, there's a wealth of exploring to do in the great outdoors. There are ample opportunities for rafting, diving and all other watersports, hiking and mountain biking, hunting, fishing and, increasingly, bird watching: the perfect ingredients for a great holiday for nature lovers and active types alike. There are ever more opportunities for you to get to know the country and its people, including educational and nature trails, wine routes, olive picking, rural tourism and volunteering in everything from nature conservation to salt harvesting. The artistically and spiritually inclined will find their soul food in the busy cultural calendar and rich religious heritage. At every time of the year, you'll find things to do which allow you to enjoy unique events and the changing of the seasons. Our guides to Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Senj, Rijeka, Karlovac, Osijek, Zadar and Brač island will help you to get to know the best of Croatia: what not to miss and what to avoid.

Croatia's Dubrovnik to vote on golf park

7. Pan across stands
8. Close of banner calling for referendum
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Enes Cerimagic, member of the referendum committee:
First and foremost, this is not a golf project at all. Golf here serves just as excuse for a big real estate development. They plan to build 240 villas, 400 apartments and two hotels on the hilltop above Dubrovnik in a gated-community kind of complex which would overburden the existing infrastructure, and where the maintenance of this infrastructure would be paid by the citizens of Dubrovnik.

12. SOUNDBITE: (Croatian) Andro Vlahusic, Dubrovnik mayor:
That area (Srdj) has been neglected for 15 centuries. During that period, there were two ideas for what to build there: One was a railway station, the other was golf. Between the railway station and golf, golf is much better.
13. Pan across the land where golf complex is earmarked to be built
14. SOUNDBITE (Croatian) Luko Paskojevic, local resident:
We residents of Bosanka (nearby village) are all against the referendum. We are not in favour of someone else determining by a referendum what we should do with our land.
15. Tracking shot of model of Dubrovnik and golf course

16. Various of referendum banner in old town
17. SOUNDBITE (English) Maja Frenkel, head of investment group in golf project:
Unfortunately, the message is already sent. Because, no matter of (the outcome of this) referendum, I think that any other investor will be very carefully watching the development of our project and will think twice before entering the country which has relatively unclear investment procedures.

STORYLINE
Croatia is no stranger to referendums.
In 1991 it voted for independence and then, last year, elected to join the European Union.
Now, the residents of the scenic Croatian Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik will hold a referendum on the construction of a golf park on a hill above their walled city.
Although the vote seemed to focus on a local issue, the outcome could have serious consequences on future foreign investments in the Balkan country that is to formally become EU's 28th member this summer.
Dubrovnik will decide on Sunday whether to allow the 1.1 (b) billion euro (1.4 (b) billion US dollar) development project that many claim endangers their ancient city, often dubbed the Pearl of the Adriatic.
The golf course designed by Australian golfing legend Greg Norman, together with villas, hotels, tennis courts, a horse-riding club and restaurants, has triggered a major controversy among the locals.
The opponents of the project tabled by a group of foreign investors say the construction would choke the old town, would represent an environmental hazard and would not bring financial gains for Dubrovnik residents.
First and foremost, this is not a golf project at all. Golf here serves just as excuse for a big real estate development. They plan to build 240 villas, 400 apartments and two hotels on the hilltop above Dubrovnik, said Enes Cerimagic, a member of the referendum committee which has been campaigning against the project.
Croatia split from Yugoslavia in the wars of the 1990s, and is currently going through a painful transition into a market economy.
But, he said, he hoped Dubrovnik would vote for the golf park.

How to spend a night in Zagreb Old Town I Croatia Vlog I Ep9
We did a quick night tour of Old Town Zagreb. We visited the main square (Ban Jelačić Square) in Zagreb old town which is pretty much alive even after 8pm. We spent some time here watching the trams crossing each other, people hustling from one side to the other, the equestrian statue of Ban Jelačić and a local musician playing his guitar. Then we bought some souvenir from a shop behind the square and visited the Zagreb cathedral to end our trip. We had a big trip the next morning to Plitvice National Park hence we needed some good rest to refresh and reenergize for the long hike ahead.
The thing here is that Zagreb is much further from the sea so even in the peak summer season nights are filled with a chill, unlike Split and Dubrovnik. So if you're visiting Zagreb considering packing a light jacket or something to keep you and your baby warm.
Motorcyclist rock`n`roll styled bird character - TRAVEL VIDEO #1 SPLIT CROATIA
Ok, the first video from footage in Split, must say I was pretty productive and inspired as always when I travel, so no surprise there... Enjoy, and like, comment for whatever reason! I will be more than happy to hear your opinion on what I share in this or any other videos with you...:)))))
The character is inspired by people who live in Split as they are obsessed by riding motorcycles, and I worked on it in rock cafe club, which is a cool place to hang out...
Thank you!!!!

TOP 10 rivers in Croatia for summer fun!
Follow me on Instagram: and Facebook
Maybe no other European country has such diverse, yet so preserved rivers as Croatia. Adriatic coast is world-known, with crystal clear sea, rocky coastline with ancient stone towns like Dubrovnik…The sea is however not the only richness of Croatia. Its rivers are surely one of the most important values. From murky and slow lowland rivers that flood huge floodplains; through short and fast mountainous rivers that flush on rapids; then rivers in Karlovac region with travertine (tufa) waterfalls and slow, almost marshy parts with lush vegetation; quiet rivers in karst polje that are lost in the dark underground only to spring at other place; until big Adriatic rivers in deep barren canyons with waterfalls, that meet the sea in narrow estuaries like Zrmanja or wide delta-like Neretva. Since they are diverse and untouched they are oases of life containing preserved biotopes with rare and endangered species on the European level. Because of their particularity, many endemic species live in them; among fish species in karst rivers around 15 are endemic.

1st trail ride in 2013 - Split, Dalmatia
Video was shot within first days of 2013. in park forest Marjan which is ''the lungs'' of Split - largest coast city in Croatia.
This rocky ambient is, along with sunny weather and warm winters, characteristic for Dalmatia, south coastline of Croatia.
The trail is known by name Girometta, and it goes from top of Marjan to Sedlo. Few rock gardens, some natural kickers and nice flow makes this trail attractive and many people ride it, despite it's really short, about 900 meters in lenght (~2 minutes of riding).
This is my first video edit and I hope so that you'll enjoy it :)
I did most of the job, riding & filming & editing, but I got some help from my club mates. I like the result and I will advance when my fork comes from service.
