The Best Waterfalls in Thailand (Erawan Falls, Kanchanaburi) [Ep 23]
Cycling Two SE Asia
Unusually for us on a rest day (or any day for that matter!) we set an alarm for 0700 and we were up and at the bus station for 0750 to catch the first bus to Erawan Waterfalls. It’s a small local bus (the 8170) which was packed considering the early time. It costs 50 baht one way per person, so all in all 200 baht for both of us to get to the waterfalls and back.
It’s 65km to the falls from Kanchanaburi, which took about an hour and a half in the slightly ramshackled bus. The industrial, busy roads gave way to the rural, Thai countryside – rolling green hills and the shimmering, wide river.
Erawan Waterfalls is made up of 7 tiers of stunning waterfalls, reached by a 1.5km hike along a steep path through the jungle. We’ve been finding the website ‘travel fish’ a handy resource for information about Thailand, and it has a great page about Erawan National Park, including the waterfalls here. We spent about 5 hours at the falls, walking slowly between each one and going for a swim here and there.
We will be back on the bikes for our next episode.

We are Adam and Lucia and we are a British couple that have quit our jobs to cycle from Singapore to the UK. We spent 2 years saving for a deposit for a house and decided that life is to short to spend our hard earned money on bricks. Instead, we are planning to spend this money on a life-changing experience and came up with the idea of a long bike trip. We flew to Singapore from the UK and started our return journey by bike on the 9 September 2018, Adam’s 30th birthday.
We think the journey will take 2 years but who knows. We will be taking it a day at a time.

Erawan Falls, Erawan National Park Kanchanaburi - Thailand 2019
Located in West Thailand in the Tenasserim Hills range of Kanchanaburi Province, it is home to one of the most popular waterfalls in the country. Founded in 1975 as Thailand’s 12th National Park, it is covering an area of 550 km².
The major attraction of the park is the 7-tiered Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds. There are also several impressive and long caves within the park, some of them deeper inside the park, few of them along the roads around the park. The park and the falls are named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. The top tier of the falls is said to resemble an elephant head.

The next stop of our Asian trip is Erawan Waterfalls. Located in Erawan National Park, this amazing trail consists of 7 beautiful waterfalls. Perfect place to cool down after the heat of Bangkok and swim along with fishes!
Several facts about Erawan Waterfalls:
- Beware, that the place is very touristic, better to to start exploring waterfalls early in the morning
- Entrance costs 300 Baht
- You can take water bottles with you to the park, but will have to pay 20 Baht deposit for each. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only way to teach tourists to stop littering in the park
- Park closes at 4 p.m.
- Train to Nam Tok (through Kanchanaburi) goes from stain station Thon Buri, schedule (official Thai website):

Erawan Falls, Kanchanaburi, Thailand.
Erawan National Park is located 64km's north of the town of Kanchanaburi on route 3199. It is best to get there early, around 7:30 to 8am, and you will easily beat all the big tourist buses that roll up at 10am and have the whole place to yourselves.
This National Park is a must see, visit the falls at any time of the year, you won't be disappointed.
Erawan Falls, Erawan National Park, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
Let's have some fun at Erawan Falls as we climb the 7 tiered Waterfall in Erawan National Park, Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Swimming in the emerald green pool at level 3 and sliding down the water slide at level 4 is a must! Best to be in good shape as the trail gets steep past the 2nd tier providing good exercise and a reason to go for a dip. Keep an eye out for wild monkeys in the trees and plenty of large fish in the pools. Thanks to my tour guide Bo and Driver Tong for a great tour as usual and Bo's wonderful camera work! Breakfast and lunch were outstanding. A great Day Trip from Bangkok Day Tours. Highly Recommended.

Waterfalls of Erawan National Park, Thailand
In this video you will know about beautiful place in Thailand with waterfalls and fish what will do massage for you!
Hi friends!
My name is Mykhailo Radzievskyi. And I will tell you how you can go to beautiful place of Thailand - Erawan National Park. Here you can see 7 floors of waterfall with clear blue water, where live fish what will be happy do feet massage for you.
If you stay in Bangkok you need go to Victory Monument and going to Van station near The Century Movie Plaza.
You need take van to Kanchanaburi, price now is 110 Baht (is 4$). Little van but with Air Conditioner, and after 2 hours way you will arrive Kanchanaburi bus station.
Here you need find bus to Erawan. This bus cost 50 baht (almost 2$). Is not have air conditioner, but have opened window, and after 2 hours way in beautiful landscapes with mountains around, you will arrive Erawan National Park.
You will need buy ticket for 300 baht (10$), what allow you stay up to 5 days on territory National Park. And after out from bus, you will need going to registration for choice where you will stay: you can choice house, tent or bring your own tent what can be must cheaper choice.
We rent tent for 3 people for 225baht per day (8$) and also equipment for sleeping and cooking also maybe 150 baht (5$) per day from person.
Tent what we rent was very near river and had beautiful view around. You can take beautiful pics. Only one not very good - another side of river have road and some car drive very loud.
Better if you bring flashlight with you for when you will go at night in toilet can see around.
If you stay in tent toilet is not very comfortable, is joined together with shower and will not make you happy when use this.
You can meet beautiful gecko, but not do this what I do, because they can very hurt bite you. I'm lucky…
Way to waterfall is beautiful way in jungles but for some people can be very hard. Especially last 7 floor. Is have tables with arrows what show you right directions, and you can’t lost in jungles, but you must be very careful for not fall. Way to last waterfall is approximately 2 km. And yes, not forgot about you need back this 2km also.
And of cause when you came in water, fish will make you many laugh from they active massage of your feet. This just amazing funny feeling!
We was one from first who arrive 7 floor waterfall this day, and we meet monkeys who just woke up and going to fig trees for eating breakfast.
This year was not enough rain, so we see weak stream of waterfall. But I was impressed about beautiful clear blue water on all floors waterfalls. And yes you can swimming in this water.
Even if you can’t swimming, just put feet in water, be happy and make happy fish in Erawan. And don’t worry, big fish only see how they child do massage for you.
I very like third floor of waterfall, is very not far walking and very beautiful place.
Yes fish what live in waterfall is diamond of Erawan, and swimming with them cost every money what you will spent for this travel.
But again, not be lazy, woke up early or you will be one from hundred others people who going meet fish and see waterfalls.
Time in Erawan go very fast and you will back to Kanchanaburi on same bus, but you must notice, last bus going in 4pm because way on mountain road can be danger at night time.
And bonus: you can exercise in Erawan when run on stumps.

MUST-VISIT WATERFALLS IN THAILAND- ERAWAN-Thailand's Charms 1- Erawan Waterfalls
The Erawan Wateralls are in Kanchanaburi. One of the best waterfalls to visit for a day. There are seven tiers of these waterfalls here. The last three are a bit difficult to hike but well worth your effort. On the first 5 tiers you'd be swimming with fish- loads of them and if you're lucky and not ticklish you get to have a fish foot spa. Just be careful though. Fish foot spa isn't the healthiest/safest of foot spas to have.
