Erebuni - Urartian fortified city in Armenia
Erebuni Fortress was founded 3,000 years ago by Urartian King Argishti I. Erebuni located in Yerevan, Armenia. It is 1,017 metres (3,337 ft) above sea level. It was one of several fortresses built along the northern Urartian border and was one of the most important political, economic and cultural centers of the vast kingdom.

EREBUNI FORTRESS, 2,800 YEARS OLD (TRAVEL GUIDE TO) Ереван 2800, Армения || YEREVAN, ARMENIA 2019
The Yerebuni Fortress is a 2,800-yr-old fortress dug up in the 1950s. According to pieces of wall engravements, this fortress was built in 781 B.C. Surrounding the fortress are picturesque views of the Mt. Ararat, Mt. Aragats, Mt. Ara and the Caucasus Region of Armenia. It is a beautiful escape from the rush of the city of Yerevan. It takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to walk and if you opt to take the taxi it takes around 12 minutes. If you walk you will be rewarded with a more in depth view of the local life of Yerevan. One of the best rewards we got was to witness lavash making for free (video coming soon! ).
