Last night at around 9:00 p.m. an engine company with the Modesto Fire Department was dispatched to the Sunrise Village Mobile Home Park on 7th St. in Modesto, California to investigate reports of a brush fire near the homes.
When the engine arrived at the scene they found the fire in the southwest corner of the complex. Homeless man beaten up by vigilantes in Modesto, California due to a fake Facebook post - TomoNews
MODESTO, CALIFORNIA — A bogus Facebook post about a man it said was assaulting women and breaking into homes went viral on Friday, prompting a group of vigilantes to beat up an innocent homeless man in Modesto, California.
The fake post contained a detailed description of the homeless man. It was traced by Modesto police to an unidentified Facebook user who was ordered to take it down since there were no reports of the man harming anyone. Modesto police posted a counter warning on social media asking the public not to harm the man.
But the message came too late, as a group of vigilantes tracked the homeless man down and beat him up.
Modesto police confirmed that there had been reports of the homeless man cussing at civilians and loitering around residences, but they said he declined treatment for his injuries and may suffer from mental-health problems. He also declined to press charges against his attackers.

How I detoured around the disastrous Cajon Pass Brushfire of July 17, 2015 (where about 30 cars were burned and/or abandoned on the freeway), and still got back home in time for dinner. Using my GPS and selecting detour, the navigation system took me to Oak Hills Road at the summit, then to a small unnamed forestry road right to the east of the Pass, then connecting with Forest Route 3N45, which took me to state highway 138. The entire length of the detour was about 3 - 4 miles and consists of unpaved, dirt road, sometimes pretty bumpy. I was driving a Prius yet I was able to get down without any problem, if you discount the shakes and jolts. I would not recommend this detour if it were raining or snowing because it would be muddy and slippery.

Female Deputy Shot Shoplifter's Mother Accidentally.
Greenville, South Carolina ---
On October 20th, deputies with the
Greenville County Sheriff's Office (SC)
responded to 522 Cliff View Court
in regards to a follow-up investigation.
Following the first deputy’s arrival, an
officer involved shooting occurred.
Deputies were first called to Spinx at the intersection of Pelham and Batesville roads to collect a video tape which had evidence of a shoplifting that happened earlier that morning.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s deputy, who recognized the shoplifting suspect identified as Sean Theodore Kaiser, 40 in the video from a previous call that occurred earlier that morning, the call as regarding an intoxicated subject involved in a non-violent domestic situation with his mother, who had fled the house after the suspect attempted to take her purse to purchase more beer.
The suspect, 40-year-old Sean Theodore Kaiser, refused to go into custody and retreated back inside, where the deputy followed.
Kaiser said to the female deputy, don't touch me and I'm stronger than you.
After several minutes of negotiating and attempting to put Kaiser in handcuffs, the footage shows, Kaiser grabbed the deputy's arm, shoved her and put his body on top of her until she broke free a moment later.
The deputy then backed up, drew her firearm and shouted at Kaiser's mother, who had moved in to intervene.
The mother stood with Kaiser and asked the deputy to wait for other deputies to arrive. The deputy shouted no several times with her handgun still drawn.
Back away, she shouted at the mother five times. Do not tell me what to do.
Kaiser then stood up and charged the deputy when the deputy fired one shot, striking Kaiser's mother, who was standing behind him.
The mother remained hospitalized a month and a half after the Oct. 20 incident, according to the suspect's attorney.
The deputy then fired another round that did not strike anyone, and then she and Kaiser tussled until they both fell on the floor.
The Sheriff's Office has declined to identify the deputy before the State Law Enforcement Division completes its investigation of the incident.
Online Greenville County court records list Ashley Cure as the arresting officer. Cure did not immediately respond to a Facebook message seeking comment.
On the scene after the shooting, while sitting on the floor near the deputy, Kaiser said, Did you (expletive) hurt my mother? You don't hurt my mother.
Seconds later, another deputy came in the front door of the home, kicked Kaiser and placed him into custody.
The deputy was diagnosed with a concussion and had several bruises after the assault on her by Kaiser, Brown said.
Kaiser was charged by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents with resisting arrest with assault and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature on an officer.
The sheriff’s office also charged Kaiser with shoplifting.
Kaiser was initially taken to a hospital to be evaluated before he was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center, where he was formally charged.

A person of interest in connection to the death of three children and two adults in Modesto, California was arrested early Sunday morning.
Police were responding to a request to conduct a welfare check at a home in Nob Hill Court in Modesto, California at 3:30 Saturday afternoon when they discovered the bodies of two adults and three children, ranging in age from 6 month to 6 years old, inside the house. All five victims were female and related, according to Modesto spokeswoman Heather Graves.
Police established 30-year-old Martin Martinez as a person of interest in the homicide case, Graves said. Martinez was once in a relationship with one of the adult victims and was the father of one of the children deceased.
San Jose police were alerted on Saturday evening about Martinez, who was believed to be traveling in a red Lincoln Navigator SUV into the city, Modesto police said. When authorities found the car at about 9:58 p.m., it was unoccupied. The suspect had reportedly departed in another car with a family member before police arrived.
At 12:47 a.m. Sunday, police located a separate vehicle that Martinez had allegedly traveled in at Westfield Oakridge mall's parking lot, and arrested the suspect at roughly around 1 a.m. when he returned to the car.
No motive or cause of death will be released at this time, according to Modesto Police Department. Martin Martinez has been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder.

Last night just before midnight the Modesto Police Department, Modesto Regional Fire Authority, and AMR were dispatched to the 800 block of Scenic Dr. in Modesto, California for reports of a solo-vehicle accident.
When crews arrived on the scene they found the car on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic with a city light pole down in the roadway.
The car was occupied by a man and a woman. Both of occupants were checked by emergency medical technicians at the scene. They declined medical treatment and appeared to be unharmed in the collision.
The two were traveling eastbound on Scenic Dr. and crashed first into large concrete planters and then into a light pole just past Bodem St., an area known to many in Modesto as a dangerous stretch of road.

Friday afternoon Stanislaus Consolidated Fire was dispatched to WBS Wardrobe And Bath Specialties on Finch Rd. at the cross of Garner Rd. for reports of a dumpster on fire in the back parking lot.

10 WORST PLACES to LIVE in CALIFORNIA
Which places in California would you never want to live in?
California is a super cool place to live in many areas. There’s awesome beaches, wide open spaces, mountains, lakes and some of the most stimulating culture around. In fact a lot of places in California seem like the best place in the country.
Then, you’ve got the bad side of California. You know it when you see it. These are the places in California where people are broke, there’s a lot of crime, and frankly, there’s either nothing to do, or it’s rough.
The goal in this report is to talk about those worst cities and towns in California. Now, California is a very liberal place, so you’re gonna find lots of bad places to live just because of that one reason alone. But we’re leaving politics out of this one. For the most part.
So, let’s hop in our car just so we can sit in traffic for hours, as we explore California’s worst places to live.
We begin our journey through the worst places you can live in California in the city of Anaheim.
Now, it’s time to leave the peaceful enclaves of Orange County and hop on the 5 and head on up to our next worst place to live in California, Stockton.
It’s time to head back down the 5, and then take the 10 east as we arrive in the Inland Empire, and our favorite IE city, San Bernardino.
Wanna get away from San Bernardino? Than just head south (specifically take the 10 to the 215 to the 60) and eventually, you’ll find the center of all that is sad and depressing in Riverside County, the city of Hemet.
We’re going to head back to San Bernardino County again, and we’re gonna stop off at our next worst place to live in California, Barstow. To get there, pretend you’re going to Vegas, and then pull over like everyone else does who wants McDonalds or Del Taco.
But guess what Barstow? At least you’re better than your bigger brother, Victorville. In fact, Victorville has nearly 6 times as many people as Barstow does.
Sick of desert towns yet? Cause we’re not even close to being done. Our next stop is another San Bernardino County desert community. So let’s hop on the 10 as we go past Palm Springs and pull into Desert Hot Springs!
Moving on, we come to our third worst place to live in California, East LA. which is...east of LA. It’s also just east of South Central LA.
If you thought Desert Hot Springs was hot and isolated, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. To get to our second worst place to live in California, take the 395 up from Hesperia until you get to Ridgecrest. Don’t stop there, or waste your time at China Lake. Head east until you get to Trona.
Okay everyone. Time for our worst place to live in California. We’ll take the 5 to the 8 and go all the way out to practically Arizona and stop in El Centro.

Felony Assault Suspect Arrested After Trying To Flee On A Bike - Modesto Police Department
This evening at around 6:30 pm a Modesto Police officer on patrol in the Downtown Modesto, California area recognized a man who was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk as a suspect wanted for a Felony Assault against a homeless man about a week ago.
The officer pulled in behind the suspect and turned on the emergency lights signaling the suspect to stop. When the suspect noticed the officer he sped up and attempted to flee the officer on the bike.
Additional officers were immediately notified of the chase and began to make their way to the area. The officer was able to keep up with the suspect while others joined in on the pursuit.
After a few minutes the suspect turned down the alley that runs parallel to 6th and 7th streets between G and H streets. As the suspect rode down the alley he turned back to see where the police were. As he did this he ran his bike into a chain used to block off a parking lot. The suspect came off during the crash and rolled onto the ground. At this point police caught up to the suspect and took him into custody before he was able to get up from the crash.
The suspect was arrested booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for his original warrant and additional charges from fleeing the police today.
Modesto News .org was there on the scene in order to bring you this footage of the arrest and to tell you what happened.
