Woman Moved To Israel From The Netherlands To Escape Anti-Semitism… Her Home Was Destroyed By Hamas
WTF, Twitter? The Israel Defense Forces reports that Twitter’s automated feature to prevent repeated tweets has blocked them from issuing a standardized warning on the social media platform of the hundreds of rocket attacks from Hamas: -- Israel Defense Forces @IDF: “We'd like to update you on the constant rocket fire from Gaza, but Twitter prevents us from repeating messages…” -- And as if on cue, the IDF tweeted out a new warning just as we were getting ready to publish this post: -- Israel Defense Forces @IDF: “???????????? AIR-RAID SIRENS IN SOUTHERN ISRAEL ????????????” -- Over 600 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip have been launched at Israel, resulting in 4 deaths and dozens of injuries: -- Israel Defense Forces @IDF: “An update about ongoing #Gaza aggression against #Israel:”
This is what life in southern Israel is like right now: -- Arsen Ostrovsky @Ostrov_AF: “This is insane! Over 650 rockets rained down on #Israel by Palestinian terrorists in #Gaza in last 36 hrs. At least 4 Israelis killed, hundreds injured. Dots below represent towns / cities hit in Israel today alone. Name me one country that would tolerate this wanton madness?” -- Earlier, a rocket fired from Gaza landed back in Gaza and killed a child and his pregnant mother. Of course Israel was blamed for this, too: -- Bethany S. Mandel @bethanyshondark: “A rocket meant for Israel misfired and landed within Gaza, killing a toddler and his pregnant mother. I know I shouldn’t be surprised to see people blaming ISRAEL for it, and yet here I am.” -- Doge @IntelDoge: “Iron Dome firing non stop in Ashdod as it tries to keep up intercepting rockets from Gaza.”
This is what Hamas is all about: -- Israel Defense Forces @IDF: “While children in Israel ran for shelter from incoming rocket fire from Gaza, these children in Gaza graduated from kindergarten. Hamas is robbing the children of Gaza of their future, and attempts to rob the children of Israel of theirs. We won’t let them. No country would.” -- This woman moved to Israel from the Netherlands to escape anti-Semitism, only to have her home destroyed by Hamas terrorists: -- Hidde J. van Koningsveld @koningsveld: “Nowhere safe: this Dutch family moved from Rotterdam to Nahal Oz, because of the rise of anti-Semitism in The Netherlands. Yesterday, their house was destroyed by a Palestinian terror rocket. #SameHate #IsraelUnderFire Watch 'till the end ⤵️”
But life goes on: -- Carly Pildis @CarlyPildis: “This couple ended up getting married in a bomb shelter. This perfectly encapsulates the Jewish experience - refusing to give up or cease existing and celebrating our culture and our lives, even when facing violence and hatred. May they be blessed with decades of joy.” -- What a wonderful moment under deplorable conditions.

The Kiryat Elizer Stadium Crush of 2001
Jerusalem, Israel, May 26, 2001
At least 30 Israeli soccer fans have been injured, one of them critically, after crowds of jubilant supporters of new champions Maccabi Haifa ran on to the pitch minutes before the end of their last league game against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Israeli television said thousands of chanting, flag-waving fans invaded the pitch after Haifa scored to make it 3-2, crushing the victims against a fence. Medical officials said that at least two people were seriously injured. Paramedics at the scene treated the worst hurt as ambulances ferried some victims to nearby hospitals.
The invasion forced the abandonment of the game in the 81st minute, with Maccabi Haifa leading Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-2. Police opened the gates and tried to ensure the people at the front were not crushed as the crowd surged forward.
But some people were injured before police brought the situation at the 18,000-seat Kiryat Elizer stadium under control. The Israeli Football Association will hold a disciplinary hearing at a date yet to be set. Maccabi Haifa had secured the league title earlier this month.
The club had planned to begin official celebrations at the end of Saturday's match but cancelled festivities after the incident. They had 82 points from 37 matches before Saturday's game and were seven points ahead of second-placed Hapoel Tel Aviv, who were beaten 1-0 at Hapoel Haifa in their final match on Friday.
Maccabi Haifa club president Yaakov Shahar told Israel's Channel Five television that he was 'deeply upset' by the behaviour of the team's fans, adding that he would take a serious look at the crowd arrangements for the future.
There has been relatively little physical crowd violence at Israeli soccer fixtures, although pitch invasions have become an almost customary event at end-of-season championship matches.

A total of five people have died on Thursday in two separate attacks in the West Bank and Tel Aviv carried out by two Palestinian men, according to Reuters.
In the attack in West Bank, a Palestinian drove near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc and opened fire at cars stuck in traffic, until his car slammed into another vehicle. He then exited the car and kept shooting until he was disarmed and arrested by Israelis soldiers, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The shooter was later identified as 24-year-old Mohammed Abdel Basset al-Kharoub from the West Bank village of Dir Smat near Hebron.
An American student, a Palestinian and an Israeli died in the attack.
The Israeli Government Press Office identified the American as 18-year-old Ezra Schwartz from Sharon, Massachusetts, Fox News reported. Schwartz was in Israel during his gap year on a program that brings young Jews to live in the country.
The same day, at the Panorama office building and shopping center in Tel Aviv, another Palestinian assaulted people engaged in mid-day prayers.
“In the middle of the prayers, suddenly we saw a man fall down wounded at the entrance to the synagogue and behind him a man with a knife who was trying to get inside,” Shimon Vaknin, a witness, told the Times of Israel. “Someone shouted, ‘There’s a terrorist!’”
After killing two Israelis the man was pushed out of the room by other worshipers. One more person was injured before the man could be apprehended.
Thursday’s attacks bring the number of Israelis killed to 16 over the past seven weeks. The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire in the same period of time is 82.
