Places to see in ( Arles - France ) Espace Van Gogh
The Espace van Gogh was originally built in the sixteenth century as Arles main hospital and it remained as such well into the twentieth. It's major claim to fame is that it was here that Van Gogh was committed after the infamous episode of cutting off his left earlobe in December 1888. The courtyard has been extensively planted out to resemble as closely as possible his famous painting Le Jardin de l'Hôtel de Dieu. The complex now houses the town library as well as exhibition spaces, a series of souvenir shops and a cafe.
Vincent Van Gogh was strongly inspired by Arles where he made more than 300 drawings and paintings between February 1881 and May 1889. Van Gogh space is installed in the hotel God built in the sixteenth century and seventeenth century. The quadrilateral opened on an interior garden worked as a hospital, Van Gogh stays there and represents it in several of his paintings, until the 1980s. The Van Gogh space is a cultural center that proposes temporary exhibitions and animations around Van Gogh and the art world. The building also hosts the media library of the city. Come and discover the former Hotel Dieu and the gardens in free access and visit an exhibition at the cultural center.
Installed in the former Hôtel-Dieu, Van Gogh's Espace and the media library are a peaceful and charming place, a cloister-garden, where flowerbeds are arranged in a star around a pool. And why this name Van Gogh? Well, because it is here, at the former Hotel Dieu d'Arles, that Vincent Van Gogh was treated in 1889. He painted the cloister and the flower beds on a painting today kept in Switzerland , in Winterthur. That said, a reproduction is placed flush with the flowers, in the gallery of the cloister on the left when entering. And you can see how the cloister was restored inspired by the painting of Van Gogh.

Arrived in Marseille for two hours northwest. It is aru. There is an exceptionally large group of visitors to the square in front of the city hall, where the unbelievable blue sky and the volcanic sun will make people smell. This is because it is a town that Van Gogh loves. I found 'Espace Van Gogh'. The first thing that comes to mind is the garden full of colorful flowers that seem to be a scene of some painting in Van Gogh. This is a municipal hospital where Van Gogh spent his mental treatment after he cut his ear in a conflict with Gauguin. It is currently being used as a cultural center, but it has been restored as it was at the time. Thanks to that, I can feel the Van Gogh's gaze, which was drawing here at that time. The landscapes that face here are beautiful at first sight, but somehow lonely as time passes. It is because of the pain of the painter, Gogh, who left over 250 paintings in the conflict with Gauguin, the fight against the illness, and the coldness of people. This place is even nicer than the works. We came here specially because the Van Gogh painters knew the paintings they made here. It's also nice to see you come in. Everyone knows, it's a fantastic painter. It feels good to see that almost everything is in Van Gogh style.

When you pass the alley, you meet unexpected scenery. Italy It is a big amphitheater which can be seen in Rome. It was a city that flourished enough to be called Rome of Gaul, the Roman Empire period, so that it is easy to find Roman ruins here. Van Gogh's eyes can be found here too. Like this, Arl travelers can enjoy the 'Van Gogh Walking Tour' which follows Van Gogh's works. The last place I found was Van Gogh Cafe. It is a place where Van Gogh painted 'Cafe terrace of the night'. Following the painter's eyes, they sit down here with a yellow inspiration and a cup of coffee, ending the journey of Arl, where Van Gogh's frustrations crossed.

Van Gogh -- Hospital -- Arles, France
Vincent Van Gogh was here in this charity hospital in Arles, France in the 19th c. due to his ear cutting thing and also because his neighbors signed a petition asking him to be hospitalized.
This is a very short clip because three tour groups showed up while I was recording this.
There isn't much to see at this particular place but you can drop in and have a look. There is a huge tourist shop adjacent which sells all kinds of Vincent Van Gogh items, from the cheap to the high quality. You could get a silly 3-D postcard here, a refrigerator magnet, or a shopping bag here, but you could also buy a quality silk scarf, fine ceramics and genuine Flemish tapestries, so I am no knocking it!
Arles is in the Bouche-du-Rhône département in France in Provence, not far from the Mediterranean sea. You can still see Roman ruins all over the place and usually, the sun is warm and bright and the colors are lovely and have inspired many, many artists.
I rented a house at 24, rue Renan by the Roman arena where bullfights and events are still held, for a fun week. This is a city of personality and is the largest commune in France.
Camargue has rice fields, those white-grey horses, and the mistral, a wild wind. If you are thinking of a city in France to visit, I could easily recommend Arles. I suggest it for a week.
