From Esteli we took the bus to the hospital. From there, there is an unidentified dirt path on the right side of the road between the two pulperias. You follow that until you reach El Tisey Natural Reserve where there will be signs directing you to Salto de La Estanzuela. This hike takes over an hour to reach the waterfall, where the water is refreshingly cold. Groups of Nicaraguans barbecue in between rocks and swim, several foreigners wander in as well.

Finding VIRGIN WATERFALLS in Ocotal
We still had more sights to see in Ocotal, after a grueling day of climbing the highest point of Nicaragua. Here, we explored some virgin waterfalls of Las Pilas in the town of Mozonte. What we actually saw were an unbelievably stunning series of tiered falls, falling into one layer and onto the next.
We also saw more of the town, including a quick art lesson from a famous self-taught local artisan that can do any design you throw at him, starting from clay or mud to oven-fired masterpieces.
