Et'hem Bey Mosque
This is a beautiful mosque built during Ottoman Empire, 238 years ago in Tirana, Albania. The mosque was full with hand painted ornaments inside and outside of it and build by Turkish people.
Construction was started in 1791 or 1794 by Molla Bey and it was finished in 1819 or 1821 by his son Haxhi Ethem Bey, grand-grandson of Sulejman Pasha. Refer Wikipedia for details.

The Mosque and Islamic Center of Tirana
BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), Martha Schwartz Landscape, Buro Happold , Speirs & Major, Lutzenberger & Lutzenberger, and Global Cultural Asset Management have won the competition to design a new 27000 m2 cultural complex in Tirana, Albania.
The 27000 m2 centre, which will include a Mosque, Islamic Centre, and a Museum of Religious Harmony, is part of the on-going transformation of the Albanian capital that includes the restoration and refurbishment of existing buildings, the construction of a series of new public and private buildings, and the complete re-conceptualization of Scanderbeg Square. This important square is the site of the new cultural complex.

Budowę meczetu rozpoczął w 1789 roku Molla Bej, a zakończył w 1823 jego syn i jednocześnie prawnuk Süleimana Pashy - Hadżi Ethem Bej. Warto odwiedzić meczet z uwagi na piękne arabeski. Należy do najważniejszych zabytków kultury muzułmańskiej w całej Albanii, nie tylko w Tiranie. Podczas reżimu komunistycznego został zamknięty, ale od 1991 roku znowu jest dostępny dla wiernych.
