Lumbini has a number of older temples, including the Mayadevi Temple, and various new temples, funded by Buddhist organisations from various countries, have been completed or are still under construction. Many monuments, monasteries and a museum, and the Lumbini International Research Institute are also within the holy site. Also, there is the Puskarini, or Holy Pond, where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he had his first bath. At other sites near Lumbini, earlier Buddhas were, according to tradition, born, then achieved ultimate Enlightenment and finally relinquished their earthly forms.

The place has tropical climate. Best to visit in latter half of autumn or first half of spring. Nearby cities are Bhairahawa (Siddharthanagar) and Butwal. The Gautam Buddha International Airport is being built in Siddharthanagar which is expected to be completed by 2020.

5 Things To Do in (Lumbini) | Sherpachat
Have you thought about visiting one of the most sacred places on earth, Lumbini? Well, it is never too late or never too early. Would you choose a life full of luxury or an enlightening one? Whatever your choice might be, Lumbini is a kind of place that you must set your foot on at least once in your lifetime. Lumbini was enlisted as a world heritage site by UNESCO back in 1997, and the arrival of tourists and pilgrims has been increasing every year since.
6 Things to Do in Lumbini
1. Pilgrimage
Pilgrimage is the main purpose of anyone visiting Lumbini. Various Asian and some European countries have constructed temples and monasteries that are representative of their respective countries. There is no place as good as Lumbini to observe the temples and monasteries representing so many different countries. The main attraction, however, is the Maya Devi Temple which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
2. Meditation
We are born naked and definitely end up naked. So, leave the everyday march for material success and divert a little to know what you truly want from life. The best place that you can read yourself is silence, a branch of meditation. Though the Lord Buddha is no more, you can still listen to him in the rustling wind and see his reflection in the ponds of Lumbini.
3. Visit Museums
If you are interested to learn about artifacts predating the era of Lord Buddha, visiting museums of Lumbini is the only solution. Be ready to be surprised because you will see exotic collections of artistic creations. If you are visiting Lumbini for research, Lumbini International Research Center nearby Lumbini museum will be a huge help.
4. Cycling
People most often answer either Pokhara or Mustang as their dream destination for cycling. They are not aware of the fact that Lumbini is one of the best cities for cycling because it is an underrated one. Hire a bicycle from a local shop and follow smooth roads and alleys to explore the vast plain of Lumbini.
5. Rickshaw Riding
Instead of driving a luxury car inside the sacred area of Lumbini, ride a rickshaw and inhale the fresh wind that the surrounding greenery exhales. You will undoubtedly love an exciting rick-shaw ride around Lumbini city as well.
6. Boating
You wouldn’t wanna come back without doing some water activity in the stifling heat of Lumbini. Embark on a boat trip from the side of Eternal Peace Flame and sail along the artificial canal. Surrounded by pavements, no less than boulevard, on both sides, the reserved water stretches from Eternal Peace Flame through the Lumbini museum to the main gate of Lumbini’s holy area.
1. Kapilvastu
Kapilvastu is the hometown of prince Siddhartha who would later go on to become the Lord Buddha. It’s located approximately 42 kilometer along Taulihawa Road . Before getting the enlightenment, Siddhartha Gautam spent his initial 29 years in Kapilvastu.
2. Devadaha
10 km east of Lumbini lies Devadaha where Lord Buddha is believed to have spent few years of his childhood. It is popular for being the hometown of Lord Buddha’s mother, queen Mayadevi.
3. Ramagram
Ramagram Stupa is known for being a Stupa that contains the relics of Lord Buddha. The 2500 years old 6.85 meters tall stupa is in Ramagram municipality of Nawalparasi district. Especially those who have firm belief in Buddhism wish to visit Ramagram at least once before their death.

The Miracle Lamp - Ner Tamid- Eternal Light has Come!
The Ner Tamid is Hebrew for the Eternal light. We had a miracle on our Altar on May 21, 2019. On the night of the 18th, the lamp oil ran out. Anytime the lamp has too little oil or none at all, it would go out. But it burned well into the next afternoon until our prayers were finished.
For years we lit the lamp in the evening and in the mornings we blew it out. Now we will let it stay lit for as long as we can. The light that you see on the lamp is the eternal flame meaning an everlasting light that is not to be put out. We know that this light symbolizes His Presence the Eternal Presence. I believe this is most inspirational of all. We captured this moment and have made prints small and large. (8 1/2x11) and 18x 24
Please go to or call the ministry if interested. It will be a blessing for you and your home.
Having even a copy of this flame in your home will be a blessing to you because when you look at this flame, its light is so precious and set-apart. It reminds us of the Eternal Light burning in each one of us, especially those who keep His Commands.
This means also that hope and strength have come to our Assembly and our community. This is phenomenal. This Lamp also points to the coming of the Messiah who will bring peace and true Redemption to all mankind.
