Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam, Nov 2015 | Twobirdsbreakingfree
In this video we take you with us to the largest town in the western highlands of Vietnam: Buon Ma Thuot. Buon Ma Thuot is mainly known for it's coffee, believed by many to be the best in Vietnam, which accounts for the town's current prosperity. Although this place is not a tourist mecca like some other destinations in Vietnam, for those passing through the area, it's worth stopping here for a few days to experience the attractions that lie mainly outside of the town itself.
Immerse yourself in beautiful deciduous forests on guided overnight elephant or walking treks at nearby Yok Don National park. Witness the roaring spectacles of spectacular waterfalls such as Dray sap and Gia Long. Stop by the ethnographic museum to get an insight into the history, biodiversity and ethnic groups of the region before venturing out. Explore nearby villages of minority ethnic groups such as the Ede and M'nong. Walk across bamboo suspension bridges, experience traditional rituals such as gong performances and try elephant riding across the Serepok river at Buon Don (Ban Don) tourist centre, located about 35km north-east of Buon Ma Thuot.
