Sutallee Trail - Canton Georgia
A day hike on the Sutallee Trail at Boling Park in Canton Georgia. The loop was completed following the Yellow, Purple, Un-Blazed, and White trail for a total of 5.5 miles. Parking for the trail is at Boling Park located directly behind Cherokee High School. Follow the gravel path all the way to the back of the park to reach the trail head. The trail offers a woodland walk with mild inclines, small waterfalls, stream crossings, and views of the Etowah River. I followed the map on the Alltrails.com site since this trail system does not have a map at the trail head or on the trails.

Old Sixes Mill in Canton Georgia was built by GOLD Prospectors in 1820's
Music by Purple Planet Music.
A Look Back in time at The Old Sixes Mill. Originally built around 1820 by early gold prospectors and later rebuilt around 1880. The mill has been well-preserved and is still located off Sixes Road. There are two theories on how Sixes derived its name. The first theory contributes the name to Fort Hinar Sixes, a Cherokee Indian removal fort that was located in the area along the infamous Trail of Tears. The second theory holds that the name is derived from an old Cherokee village that was located near the Etowah River named Sutali — the Cherokee word for the number six. Sixes also lent its name to Fort Sixes, an 1830s US Army fort that served as a removal collection point for Cherokee prior to the Trail of Tears. Sutallee, a community that sits on the opposite side of the Etowah River (now Lake Allatoona) in western Cherokee County, also derives its name from this Native American village.

Flint River Kayak Explore Ft Flukemaster Bass Master Fishing Report Georgia USA match fishing EP.391
A kayak explore fishing report from the Flint river, where Gene Jensen a true Bass Master, Allen Ragsdale a great Bass fishing guide and I match fish for a Georgia River Slam in Georgia state USA. We show you the fishing tackle we use, as well as some of the best bass fishing lures. None of us are fishing from Walmart Kayaks, and in fact when i get home I will be fishing from a Viking Kayak, where I will do some kayak camping, catch and cook videos.
The Georgia weather is very questionable on the day of our Match fishing kayak adventure. We all have our kayak PDF with us and none of our craft have a kayak rudder, but we have sturdy kayak paddles. We each catch more fish than the three species required for the slam. which is a Large Mouth Bass, Spotted Bass and Shoal Bass. Our kayak paddle begins early. Our Jackson kayaks are fitted with kayak seats and plenty of kayak storage.

Woodhaven Bend a Nature Preserve Community - HD Video Real Estate on the Etowah River Ball Ground GA
Calling Woodhaven Bend special would be an understatement, there are few places anywhere quite like it. As you arrive home at Woodhaven Bend, you enter a different world. Surrounded by the Etowah River and nestled in nature you realize much of the surroundings have been untouched by man.
Typically only state and national parks manage their natural environment with such care, which makes Woodhaven Bend one of only a few residential communities in the entire nation that offers this unmatched beauty and ecological responsibility.
Woodhaven Bend on the Etowah is a nature-focused community. Located on a spectacular property bordered by two-miles of the unspoiled Etowah River, Woodhaven Bend has been a sanctuary for man and nature for centuries. During the Georgia Gold Rush in the 1830's, that land was home to two mines, and remnants of that activity have been preserved on the property. What also has been preserved is the breathtaking beauty of the varied topography. From gentle meadows and steep mountain foothills to riverside retreats, each generously sized multi-acre tract has its own personality.
In all, approximately 33 homes will occupy this breathtaking 280-acre site. Over 5,000 trees and flora were planted in a 50-acre riverside preserve in Woodhaven. Nature is the primary amenity. The community was developed to allow access for residents to interact with nature. To that end, over 10 miles of interconnected hiking and biking trails wind throughout the community past scenic river rapids, wildlife observation areas, a bird sanctuary and rustic river pavilions. Over 50 acres of preserved green space along the Etowah's shores are ideal for enjoying a hike, a canoe or kayak trip, a fishing venture, a photography outing or simple meditation.
Woodhaven Bend was designed to allow people to interact with nature at their own pace, in their own way and in a manner that makes them comfortable. The connection between land and residents is at the heart of Woodhaven Bend. The vision is to restore, protect and allow access to nature.

Roswell Old Mill Park
After being downsized from IBM and Readers Digest, I listed homes for sale in upstate NY. After a bad year in real estate and feeling like I had too much stuff I realized that I was watching my life waste away. I sold many of my personal possessions and converted a Ram Promaster cargo van into my new home.
Now, I'll always have my house with me, wherever I go. I can boondock anywhere with my conversion van. I have been to places as far south as Key West and have plans to go as far west as California. I will travel the continental 48 with a free spirit, playing my songs on my guitar for whoever will listen.
I don't know how long I will do this, but will do it as long as I want.
I hope to make many friends along the way.

Why We Need an Etowah River Water Trail
This video shows a undeveloped (and dangerous) canoe and kayak launch at Boling Park in Canton, Georgia. The City of Canton recently used funds secured by CRBI to build a new canoe and kayak launch a couple of miles upstream, but additional developed public access points are needed along the Etowah's 160-mile length. CRBI is working with diverse stakeholders to promote and develop the Etowah River Water Trail. To learn more about the trail, visit etowahwatertrail.org
