This area is covered by dense rainforest and known for its most popular inhabitants, the platypuses. Platypus are generally found in slow-moving rivers and are highly adapted to a semi-aquatic life. Directions to the trail head for the Mount Dalrymple hike, plus footage of the hike highlights, creek crossings, etc. It rained most of the day so the view from the top is total white out.

We watched this platypus play for ages at Eungela National Park near Mackay in North Queensland.
Broken River is a known Platypus playground and if you are lucky as we were you will get to see one of these beautiful creatures in their own habitat.
