A Sunday drive to Evandale Markets !
Passing through Launceston Airport on the way and with a little train ride towards the end.
The Evandale market is a popular country market in historic Evandale near Launceston Airport in Tasmania’s North.
Come and be a part of one of Tasmania’s favourite markets with over 100 stalls, including a wide range of wares from high quality crafts to bric-a-brac for every budget. There are also plenty of food stalls and children’s amusements.
Evandale is a lovely Georgian village with well preserved cottages, houses, churches, inns and shops. It is a great place for browsing in antique galleries and art and craft shops. The Launceston airport lies between Evandale and Launceston. You can also visit other historic towns nearby including Longford and Westbury. A short drive into Launceston will offer you a host of street-side cafes, boutique shops and leafy city parks.
The market is open every Sunday from 0800 to 1400. Evandale is located just 15 km south of Launceston.

EVANDALE - Historic Town Walk - Tasmania 2019
#Evandale #Tasmania #Historicbuildingstasmania
Evandale today is a National Trust classified Georgian village, popular with tourists for its unspoiled heritage buildings, notably St Andrews Church, the Uniting Church, with its classical belltower and Doric columns, Blenheim (1832) in High Street; Royal Oak (1840) and adjoining stables now Evandale Antiques, Clarendon Arms hotel (1847) and Fallgrove (1826) in Russell Street; Solomon House (1836), and the saddler's shop (1840) at the intersection of Russell Street and High Street.
Just down the road is Clarendon House - arguably one of Australia's greatest Georgian houses still standing today. It has formal gardens and grounds, a tree lined avenue, Italianate facade, restored early colonial outbuildings and is owned by the National Trust. The wealthy grazier and merchant James Cox (son of William Cox) had the house built in 1838.

Aurora Australis: Twilight, 1st March 2017, Evandale, Tasmania, Australia
This aurora was caused by a CIR ahead of a coronal hole.
This was filmed in Evandale Tasmania, from twilight to midnight. Unfortunately, clouds rolled in and we missed the main show. But the blue hour was impressive enough to go home happily for.

This classic two storey 1830's Georgian heritage homestead on 1762.86 hectares of land lends itself to a full complement of farming enterprises including the current wool growing, fattening and cropping enterprises with the the opportunity of transformational change to add dairy, water development and viticulture to the business mix.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of Tasmania's most historic properties with the potential for further development all this within 10 minutes from the Launceston Airport and 5 minutes from the Evandale Village.
