Saving The Life Of A Young Girl
This trip to Myanmar is an eye opener for me. I have managed to capture the beauty of the people, the culture and the landscape. It is not just a photography trip, it is also a taste of life in Myanmar. I have tried go fishing with the fisherman on a boat at 3am in the morning for 7 hours in the sea, eating their gift of monkey meat, wildcat meat to squirrel meats and dining with locals and also pastors...etc and even saving the life of a girl. The story goes like this... together in my team were 4 other friends who are local and have decided to follow me for the morning shoot at Kywegyaung, Delta Division right at the end, bottom of the coast of Indian Ocean. We have decided to shoot a rocky Island and we will need to travel on bike by the beach at 3am for about few miles and than transfer to a boat (a big boat I was told) for another two hours boat ride in order to catch the sun rise there. The journey started at 3am and you know how dark it was at the point? It was almost like a scene from the movie Mission Impossible! With the camera and full equipment on me on a motorbike you can imagine how I looked. The bike stopped at one point when we realised that the water is too high that we have to get down to carry our motorcycles and ourselves across the river in the dark. To our shock we noticed a few people stuck there waiting in the dark for help. What! At 3.30am in the middle of nowhere? A girl who was so sick and completely unconscious, her dad had to carry her sitting on a bike with another guy riding it. It is a emergency, he was desperately rushing this girl to the nearest hospital but they are stuck there in the dark and at a loss for what to do. We quickly rushed to help them cross the river and to carry their bike across. We got onto our motorcycles again and then met another river in front! We helped them again and again at another river ahead. In total, we helped them cross 3 rivers. I could see that they were so desperate at that point. By God's grace, that girl and her father are able to continue on their way to the hospital. Watch the video which I captured that dark morning:

Karol Bąk was born in 1961 in Kolo, Poland. He paints using oil on canvas and often works on a few paintings at the same time. Karol Bak creates realistic canvasses with many of his figurative works being inspired by myth and mythology. He works and lives in Poznan.
Karol Bąk is an admirer of women. He is a glorifier of womanhood.
He paints captivatingly beautiful phenomenal shapes. He seems to desire to reveal their souls. Therefore, by various methods he examines the deepest parts of their nature.
Karol Bąk makes himself extremely great task for his intention is not to show women only from their physical side. However, he is aware of the fact that the woman is noticed not only as a body-subject from a point of view, but also as spiritual-physical human being, loving, delicate, and tender-hearted to utmost emotions. In other words, woman is variable and almost imperceptible.
Most numerous and most impressive of Bąk's compositions are the picturesque of women, it is worth paying our attention that the artist exploring and presenting their spiritual conditions, wishes, with positive or negative energy arising from them, at the same time appoints them to roles: biblical, mythological or personifying elements.
Thus, as we can assume, there is certain theatrical manner of poses, artificiality, and intentional decorative value.
In contrast with these art works, it is worth paying attention to the persons heads surrounded by enriched ovals, which are not only fascinating structure components of painting, but decorating the presented women. These figures traced from the cycle (the ideal figure, together with a triangle, professionally used by the artist in his graphics) are parts of dress, and also the materialized aura corresponding to aureole. Their meaning is symbolic. They mark contradictory emotions, confused ways of labyrinth (Ariadna II), emotion explosives (Ignes) or solar ring (Rosa Mundi), motion symbol, everlasting while, and the solar rose can represent labyrinth, life pilgrimage path.
Development of symbols and particular significance of the listed paintings, as the examples, depends on invention and knowledge of the viewer. When we look at fascinating works of the artist from Poznan, we should notice that the forms around the persons, as emanation of their emotions, relate directly with the space surround, and also with the air space.

The beauty could get various shapes and could be shown in variety of ways. It is -- according to Elias Canetti -- pathetic and cold at the same time. It always includes -- due to this writer -- something fascinating like something what existed some time ago, and then has disappeared for a long time. (...) We cannot love it in spite we miss it. Thanks to the mysterious paths of admiration the beauty itself is getting richer than anything else we can have in us ourselves.

Canadian-born violinist Lara St. John has been described as something of a phenomenon by The Strad and a high-powered soloist by the New York Times. The Los Angeles Times has written, St. John brings to the stage personal charisma, an unflagging musical imagination and genuine passion.
Lara has performed with orchestras on five continents and in recital around the world. She formed her own record label, Ancalagon Records in 1999, and has recorded with orchestras including the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela. Her release Bach: The Six Sonatas and Partitas for Violin Solo in 2007 was the best selling double album of the year on iTunes and her recording featuring two World Premiere 21st century concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra had Gramophone saying it's the sort of work that should get audiences running, not walking, back to concert halls...

How to Grow Watermelon

If you love to bury your face in a cold slice of watermelon on a hot summer day, learn to grow them in your own backyard.
Step 1: Start indoors
Start your seedlings indoors, especially if you live in a cooler climate. Plant two to three seeds per pot and choose the healthiest seedling for transplantation.
Tip
For best results use peat pots that can be transplanted whole without uprooting and potentially traumatizing your seedling.
Step 2: Give space
Give your watermelons space to grow. Seed hills in a row, and space the rows 7 to 10 feet apart. If you don’t have that much room, consider a smaller bush variety.
Step 3: Plant
Plant your seeds or seedlings outdoors after the last frost. Plant one to two seedlings per hill, or thin your plants to this number once they have taken root.
Step 4: Feed well
Feed your watermelon plants with fertilizers rich in nitrogen early in their growth, followed by fertilizer rich in phosphorous and potassium after flowers have formed.
Step 5: Water if necessary
Water your watermelons only when necessary, such as during a prolonged dry spell.
Step 6: Protect
Protect your plants and their roots by aggressively weeding with a shallow hoe. Stave off cucumber beetles and other pests with appropriate pesticides.
Tip
Use black plastic as mulch in your watermelon rows to reduce weeds and keep your plants warm and moist.
Step 7: Harvest
Harvest your melons after 75 to 100 days. Signs of ripeness include yellowing on the underside, a dulling of the overall color, resistance to thumbnails on the rind, and browning of the stems near the fruit.

Lindsey and I filmed this video last week in Provo Utah. We filmed it over a coarse of two days. We filmed during two mornings/sunrises, and one evening right after the sun had set.
As far as the technical details go. We filmed it on a Canon 5D Mark II. To get the smooth shots where it looks like we are flying, I used a Glidecam HD 4000. Here is a link below to there website if your interested in buying one of those :)

Stephen Glenn Martin is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician. Martin came to public notice in the 1960s as a writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and later as a frequent guest on The Tonight Show. In the 1970s, Martin performed his offbeat, absurdist comedy routines before packed houses on national tours. Since the 1980s, having branched away from comedy, Martin has become a successful actor, as well as an author, playwright, pianist, and banjo player, eventually earning him an Emmy, Grammy, and American Comedy awards, among other honors. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked Martin at sixth place in a list of the 100 greatest stand-up comics. He was awarded an Honorary Academy Award at the Academy's 5th Annual Governors Awards in 2013. While he has played banjo since an early age, and included music in his comedy routines from the beginning of his professional career, he has increasingly dedicated his career to music since the 2000s, acting less and spendin...
