Dunsfold Aerodrome (ICAO code EGTD) is an airfield in Surrey, England, near the village of Cranleigh. It is also home to the world famous, Top Gear Track.
I had a day driving an Aston Martin around the Top Gear track.

Trinity College, Cambridge are the owners of Dunsfold Park, near Godalming in Surrey - home to BBC’s Top Gear programme which recently featured Chris Evans and Friends actor Matt LeBlanc – Their agents have applied for planning permission to pave over the airfield and track in order to develop a new town of 3,400 dwellings.

Harry Potter star and national treasure, Miriam Margolyes has now backed the campaign to stop the new town. The Harry Potter star narrates a film claiming that Dunsfold Park is the wrong place, without adequate roads and that the scheme would flatten ancient woodland and destroy an area of “quintessentially English countryside”.

Concerned residents in Dunsfold and the surrounding villages reached out to Miriam Margolyes who has lent her support and called for greater protection for rural areas.

The overview of my day at Drift limits is as follows....
Here's a day in my diary of my experience at drift limits in Hemel Hempstead. Since going there i can honestly say that i've gone from being able to do a bit of a slide ti now being able to properly drift to an amateur level. There are 2 tracks at the airfield in Bovingdon and both tracks are used for driftlimits customers alone. The first track is a racetrack which is used for novelty experience days which after hearing feedback from people there sounded more worthwhile than their competitors 'Everyman' who function from the Dunsfold Aerodrome in Cranleigh.

The second track is the drift track, this is not like the nice tarmac racetrack that's used for the supercars, it's simply just a HUGE, rough triangular shaped piece of Concrete with white lines to mark bends, this sounds boring but it's not, it is absolutely perfect for drifting, there is nothing to crash into, your'e not at risk of damaging the car and as the boundary's are only white lines, you feel so much more comfortable attempting a drift without having the worry of hitting anything.

I'd highly reccomend a day at driftlimits, at first i thought £150 sounds expensive but after hunting around the only cheaper alternative i could find was at Santapod where you have to go along in your own car, destroy your own tyres and use your own fuel and on top of this you'll be asked to pay an £80 entry fee to use their track. I haven't done a day on SantaPod's drift track so i don't know exactly what it all consists of but i did make me think that an 'all-in' price of £150 at Bovingdon was quite reasonable in comparison.
There are options to upgrade the car to an e46 M3 or an S14 200 sx but if i'm honest, the Mazda MX5 didn't disappoint me in the slightest.

In this video my instructor is Bill, as you can see i connected with him extremely well in the short space of time that i was there, i get the feeling that the majority of the staff at Driflimits were quite cool/likeable. I will certainly be going there again at some stage in my life as it was a great day out, one more thing i'd like to add was the package i chose was a Silver package, this just seemed like the best value for money options for me.
