WETT Inspection Certified Wood Burning Stove Clearances Victoria BC
WETT inspection reports are prepared by certified WETT inspectors. They are often required by insurance companies to insure that the wood burning appliance or fireplace system is installed properly, in proper working order, and has adequate clearances to combustibles among other things. I am a WETT certified wood heat professional and wood burning systems adviser. As such, I provide inspections, consultations, repairs, restorations, and installations among my wood burning and chimney sweep services. For an example of what might be included in a WETT inspection, first I look for the label to find all of the information about the stove, clearances, dates, serial numbers etcetera. The second thing is to check out the stove pipe classification, walls, and bucket. Thirdly, I note the conditions inside the stove. After that it is necessary to look for the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Next, it is imperative to take a picture and make notes on the condition of the chimney. Insurance companies require yearly inspections that prove the system is up to code.

Chrysler Minivan Dodge Caravan 1998: Fix Signal Lights | Flue Guru
Are your turn signal lights not working? Are you unsure whether to spend the money to change the signal light flasher? This video shows you how to fix your signal lights on a car, the parts, where to install the flasher. It’s easy to change the signal light flasher on a Chrysler Minivan Dodge Caravan 1998. I was having a problem with my signal lights. One side would work intermittently at a time, and it was hard to know which side was working at any given time. The new part costs about 130 bucks Canadian. The replacement part number for this model is 0468 6190. If you happen to be an electronics wizard, you may be able to fix it, but I prefer to have peace of mind, knowing that it works and that I’m not risking an accident simply because the signal lights are not working well. When I'm not fixing my vehicles I'm busy with my wood heat business.

Husky Tool Cabinet Drawer Lock System Explained Review
I was having to spend valuable time looking in boxes for tools in a crowded work truck that I use for my chimney repair business. I wanted to get organized, so I put a Husky tool cabinet inside here. This cabinet was a floor model, a bit scratched, but available for a good price and it works great. The bottom cabinet that locks with a key worked okay, but I was having problems with the top cabinet. The drawers were sliding out while I was driving. Watch the video to learn about the adjustments to adapt the drawer latching mechanisms for a space with no head room.

A RUN DOWN OLDFIELD ROAD
Nothing special just a ride on Oldfield road
It's Official, Fall Has Arrived
CENTRAL SAANICH - Judging by the falling leaves and colour change in foliage, summer has turned the page and fall has arrived on Vancouver Island. Like a bright orange beacon, pumpkins at Michell's Farm are ripe and ready to go. Nearly seventy tons will be available for u-pick starting this weekend, with other varieties expected to be ready in a few weeks.
The change in seasons also means it's time to switch up the plants in your garden. Winter veggies can prosper right through the cold months, thanks to our moderate climate. Everything from leeks, to chard, and mustard can be harvested, and now is the time to get your garlic in the ground for next summer.
Putting a shovel in the ground and cultivating family memories, fall is a chance for people to gather one last time before the weather turns for the worse. In Nanaimo, the 14th Annual Harvest Festival and Scarecrow Competition at Tiger Lily Farm is sure to draw hundreds on Sunday.
Contestants can either build their entries at home with materials ranging from old clothes to tin cans, or bring supplies to the farm and mix and match. Prizes will be given out for the most unique wheat shaft creations.

SUMMARY
=======
British Columbia (BC; French: Colombie-Britannique) is the westernmost province of Canada, located between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains. With an estimated population of 4.817 million as of 2017, it is Canada's third-most populous province.
The first British settlement in the area was Fort Victoria, established in 1843, which gave rise to the City of Victoria, at first the capital of the separate Colony of Vancouver Island. Subsequently, on the mainland, the Colony of British Columbia (1858–1866) was founded by Richard Clement Moody and the Royal Engineers, Columbia Detachment, in response to the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush. Moody was Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works for the Colony and the first Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia: he was hand-picked by the Colonial Office in London to transform British Columbia into the British Empire's bulwark in the farthest west, and to found a second England on the shores of the Pacific. Moody selected the site for and founded the original capital of British Columbia, New Westminster, established the Cariboo Road and Stanley Park, and designed the first version of the Coat of arms of British Columbia. Port Moody is named after him.In 1866, Vancouver Island became part of the colony of British Columbia, and Victoria became the united colony's capital. In 1871, British Columbia became the sixth province of Canada. Its Latin motto is Splendor sine occasu (Splendour without Diminishment).
The capital of British Columbia remains Victoria, the fifteenth-largest metropolitan region in Canada, named for the Queen who created the original European colonies. The largest city is Vancouver, the third-largest metropolitan area in Canada, the largest in Western Canada, and the second-largest in the Pacific Northwest. In October 2013, British Columbia had an estimated population of 4,606,371 (about 2.5 million of whom were in Greater Vancouver). The province is currently governed by the British Columbia New Democratic Party in a minority government supported by the Green Party of British Columbia, led by John Horgan, who became premier as a result of a no-confidence motion on June 29, 2017.
British Columbia evolved from British possessions that were established in what is now British Columbia by 1871. First Nations, the original inhabitants of the land, have a history of at least 10,000 years in the area. Today there are few treaties and the question of Aboriginal Title, long ignored, has become a legal and political question of frequent debate as a result of recent court actions. Notably, the Tsilhqot'in Nation has established Aboriginal title to a portion of their territory, as a result of the recent Supreme Court of Canada decision (William [Tsilhqot'in Nation] v. British Columbia).

Overfire Fire Alarm System on Hearthstove or Fireplace Insert | Flue Guru
Buy an overfire fire alarm system here: These alarms serve to prevent damage to your equipment and keep your fire economical by preventing overburning. You don’t actually get any more heat out of it at 500 than at 480 degrees. This video demonstrates the alarm system going off at 480 degrees fahrenheit and how to get the alarm to turn off by closing the air intake and turning up the front fan to bring the temperature down. Go to the link above to buy an overfire chimney liner alarm system. It’s particularly good for fireplace inserts and hearth stoves. How to Install Fireplace Insert & Liner in Brick Chimney existing Clay Flue Liner
Installing a Regency i1100 Wood Burning Fireplace insert requires a permit from your local building authority. and in most locales in Canada requires a WETT QUALIFIED installer. Many insurance companies are now requiring WETT inspections to be done by a certified WETT inspector on new and existing installations. Check your local building authority and your insurance as to the requirements. Inserts must be installed into masonry fireplaces and chimneys that are in good condition and that have proper clearances to building framing, installing an EPA rated unit will give you good heat value and stop old drafting fireplaces from exhausting expensive heated air through stack effect even when their leaky dampers are closed.

How to Separate Your Recycling
Watch more How to Recycle videos:
Recycling your garbage is noble, and in many places mandatory. But it also can be very confusing. This guide will clear up the rules.
Step 1: Check laws
Check the local laws regarding recycling in your town. Not all communities recycle the same things.
Step 2: Rinse
Rinse glass bottles, plastic containers, and aluminum and tin cans. Labels do not have to be removed. Recycle the plastic caps of water and soda bottles, but toss the ones from laundry detergent and food containers.
Tip
If you’re confused about whether a plastic item can be recycled, look for its resin identification code – a triangle with a number inside. Products marked 1 and 2 are recyclable. Don't recycle unmarked plastic containers.
Step 3: Separate
In general, containers that held food, beverages, household cleaners, or personal care products like shampoo and mouthwash are all recyclable. Separate plastic; glass; aluminum, tin, and aerosol cans; and aluminum foil.
Tip
Light bulbs, drinking glasses, crystal, window and mirror glass, ceramics, and kitchen cookware don't get recycled.
Step 4: Handle with caution
Contact your local sanitation department for instructions on how to dispose of anything that held potentially hazardous material such as motor oil, pesticides, paint, solvents, and batteries.
Step 5: Bundle paper
Place together all newspapers, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, letters, envelopes, and promotional advertisements. Be sure to keep all paper dry.
Tip
Be careful about recycling that can be used to steal your identity, like financial statements and unsolicited, pre-approved credit card applications. Shred them before recycling.
Step 6: Gather cardboard
Remove any tape from cardboard boxes and brown paper bags before flattening them. Check if items like pizza and cereal boxes are recycled in your area. If they are, include them, too.
Step 7: Dispose
Find out when your city picks up recycling – sometimes on a different day from when garbage is collected – so you know when to leave those bins and boxes by the curb.

How to Change a Tire Dodge Caravan Complete Video | Flue Guru
How to Change a Tire on a 1998 era Dodge Caravan from start to finish with complete instructions from locating the factory jack and spare tire to putting the other tire away at the end. Before you raise the car at all, make sure you step the e-brake down. Once you get the jack in place, loosen the nuts on the tire a little bit. Then line up your spare tire and thread the nuts on finger tight with the bevel part facing in toward the tire. The second nut goes on opposite the first one, and so on to snug the tire up properly. Once all of the nuts are tight, lower the jack. We show you how to rehang the other tire under the minivan. I show you the piece that holds the tire up, and how to put both pieces through the hole in the middle of the wheel. Make sure that the air valve is pointing downwards when you slide the tire under the vehicle. The last step is to fit that flat piece into the proper position to hold the tire up and tighten it in. When I'm not changing tires on our vehicle, I'm busy sweeping chimneys and doing WETT inspections in the Victoria BC area.
Notes:
1. Tire shops always recommend getting the tires re-tightened about two weeks after you've put your tire on.
2. If you supply yourself with a bit of a better wrench, you will save a lot of time, and the experience of changing a tire can be less frustrating.
3. Our spare tire seemed like it was holding air until we put it on the car and found it to be flat, so we had it repaired. Considering it hangs uncovered horizontally under the minivan, water collects in the rim and causes rust, which is why it was flat. It's lucky the vehicle was right in front of our house at the time. It is definitely a great idea to check your spare tire, especially if you drive in sparsely populated areas or are planning a little holiday or road trip.
