Evesham Abbey was founded by Saint Egwin at Evesham in Worcestershire, England between 700 and 710 AD following an alleged vision of the Virgin Mary by a swineherd by the name of Eof.According to the monastic history, Evesham came through the Norman Conquest unusually well, because of a quick approach by Abbot Æthelwig to William the Conqueror.Only one section of walling survives from the actual abbey, although fragments of the chapter house, the bell tower and the gateway remain, which were added later: the chapter house in the 13th century and the bell tower in the 16th century.Simon de Montfort is buried near the high altar of the ruined abbey, the spot marked by an altar-like memorial monument dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1965.

Evesham Belltower
This is some Plain Hunt on the back ten at Evesham Belltower, which is part of the old Abbey here in Evesham. These bells were all cast in 1951. The person in charge of recasting the old bells was determined to get a quality job, so he dictated to Taylors that they should base the scale of these bells on the 11th at Worcester Cathedral... and what a fine job they did! The tenor weighs 35-2-20 and is in C#
I had to buy a new camera and unfortunately it does not pick up the bass well at all. To enjoy this video fully you may need to turn up your bass speaker a bit.

Almonry Museum Evesham 06.09.11
The Almonry Museum and Heritage Centre is a museum in Evesham in Worcestershire, England. It is also referred to as The Almonry Heritage Centre, The Almonry Museum and just The Almonry. It is governed by Evesham Town Council. The focus of the museum is on local history, but it also covers history and science more broadly. The museum derives its name from the original use of the building as the almonry of the 14th-century Evesham Abbey. The museum opened within this building in 1957.
The Almonry Museum is housed in a 14th-century building that was formerly part of the Benedictine Evesham Abbey, the third largest abbey in England. The building is an almonry, meaning it was the home of the almoner, a monk whose role was to provide alms to the poor. Evesham Abbey was closed by Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, after which the Almonry became the personal home of the last Abbot, Philip Ballard. Two churches, a bell tower and a cloister arch from Evesham Abbey also survive nearby. The Almonry is a grade I listed building and was first listed in 1952. It has a part rubble and part timber framed structure with a Cotswold stone roof. Additions to the building were made in the 15th and 17th-centuries.
Following the closure of the Abbey, The Almonry has served as an ale house, offices, tea rooms and a private home. It was purchased by Evesham Borough Council in 1929 and opened as a heritage centre in 1957.
Evesham Bell Tower interim maintenance - item on BBC Midlands Today (September 2012)
BBC TV report on the interim inspection and maintenance work performed on Evesham's famous Bell Tower. The work was overseen by Peter Rhodes, Chartered Surveyor, using a cherry picker to access the top of this 30 metre structure. A lot of the detailed maintenance was performed by Doug Littlewood, the site manager.

Pershore Abbey, Tewkesbury Abbey, Evesham Bell Tower
Outside views of Pershore Abbey, Tewkesbury Abbey and Evesham Bell Tower.
Once an Anglo-Saxon Abbey, Pershore Abbey in the town of Pershore, Worcestershire, UK today is an Anglican Parish Church. The abbey church is the structure we see today and was completed in 1130. Pershore's Abbey Park was originally the Abbey Grounds and now provides a wonderful idyllic setting.
Tewkesbury Abbey in Gloucestershire (Church of St Mary the Virgin) is the second largest parish church in the country. The tower originally had a wooden spire, but this collapsed in 1559 and never reconstructed. The Abbey has been hit by floods in July 2007 and also in 1760.
Evesham Abbey Bell Tower in Evesham, Worcestershire, UK.
The tower has recently had restoration work from April 2015 to April 2016. The actual abbey was demolished during the 'Dissolution of the Monasteries' leaving just the magnificent bell tower we see today.
