Ewenny Priory Church, South Wales
Ewenny Priory Church is the most complete and impressive Norman church in South Wales and one of the finest examples of a fortified church building in Europe. It was completed by 1126. In 1141 it became a Priory of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter, Gloucester,

Priory investigation part 1
Ewenny Priory (Welsh: Priordy Ewenni), It was a monastery of the Benedictine order, founded in the 12th century.
The priory was unusual in having military-style defences and is widely regarded as one of the finest fortified religious buildings in Britain. Over the centuries the priory has sustained some damage, and following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, was, like many of its kind, converted into a private house, Ewenny Priory House, which is still inhabited by its current owners, the Turbervill family. The priory is not open to the public apart from the church, where restoration work has recently been carried out by Cadw. The nave serves as the parish church (Church in Wales).

Finedon St. Mary's Flower Festival 2014
This is footage of the beautiful floral displays to behold at the annual September Flower Festival at Finedon St. Mary's church. The theme for this year's event was the First World War, and as such the number of displays reflected on a different aspect of this iconic period of history. My particular favourite display was one dedicated to the nurse Edith Cavell, put together by Fr. David Coles.
Filmed on my Sony Cybershot DSC-H55 digital camera on 13th September 2014.

Old Welsh Churches Llangelynnin Church
Llangelynnin Church is an old Welsh church that stands high above the Conwy Valley, North Wales. With its sister church a few miles away, Llanrhychwyn Church, it is one of Wales' oldest churches, dating from the 12th century, and was probably pre-dated by an earlier church of timber, or wattle and daub construction.

Swansea Ramblers join a Ramblers-affiliated Gower Society walk from Ewenny Priory
Swansea Ramblers joined a Ramblers-affiliated Gower Society walk from Ewenny Priory. We crossed the River Ogmore by bridge and the River Ewenny by the stepping stones below Ogmore Castle. Had some rain at first but was mostly dry when we climbed Ogmore Down and Old Castle Down. Followed part of the Valesways Millenium Heritage Trail to Corntown and back to the priory for tea, cake and a guided tour. More photos and info on swansearamblers.org.uk
