Our visit Zagreb travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (Croatian), top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting churches, parks, the old town, quirky neighborhoods, museums and a hockey game. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Zagreb tourism brochure, Zagreb itinerary or Zagreb, Croatia city tour also known as Zagreb, Hrvatska.
10 Things to do in Zagreb, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Our travels in Croatia brought us to Zagreb known for its lively street markets, vast green spaces, and varied architecture that spans numerous movements, we reached the capital and hit the ground running. In this video we’re going to show you some fun things to do in Zagreb, as well as share our favourite place for sampling the most delicious truffle dishes:
From the main square you have the Flower Market, and if you head up the steps, that leads to Zagreb’s Central Market.
Zagreb Cathedral is one the city’s main landmarks. This is the largest sacral building in the Gothic style southeast of the Alps, and it’s pretty easy to spot the spires wherever you are in the city.
Our walk through the Upper Town eventually lead us to Tkalčićeva. These days you’ll find a lively street lined with restaurants, cafes and bars.
We reached what may be the most memorable museum in the whole world: The Museum of Broken Relationships. The museum is a global crowd-sourced project that deals with heartbreak. Inside you’ll find curious objects with a corresponding story.
St. Mark’s Church bears the medieval coat of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia on the left-hand side, and the emblem of Zagreb on the right.
To enjoy city views of the Lower Town there are some great vantage points along the promenade.
On our way down from the Upper Town, we walked through Zagreb’s famed Stone Gate. Once the eastern gate into the medieval settlement now houses a small chapel.
Let’s take a break from all the sightseeing to introduce you to one of our favourite restaurants in Zagreb when it comes to truffle dishes
And craving more views of the city, we then went up Zagreb 360.
Known as the Green Horseshoe, this park was named after Milan Lenuci who came up with the idea of creating connected green spaces right in the downtown. The horseshoe is home to several museums, galleries and archives.
If you’re into hockey and you visit Zagreb during the season, you can catch a game in the city. We watched Medveščak Zagreb play.
And that’s it for our visit to Zagreb! We hope you enjoyed this travel guide and that you got a few ideas of things to see, eat and do on your own visit.

Visiting Zagreb and Belgrade... how do they compare and differ if you can't visit both:
---
If you're looking for the best things to do in Zagreb, I think this video shows some of it: taking in a football game, rakia tasting and enjoying drinks in the old town. I can't wait to go back to Zagreb--it was amazing!
And the last thing I want to say is... because everyone asks me: there is no problem being black in Zagreb, Croatia. I have experienced ZERO racism in Croatia. The Balkans is the most friendly place I have ever traveled to and a traveler being black in Croatia is not an issue AT ALL.

CROATIA: 550,000 Fans WELCOME CROATIAN WORLD CUP Team in Zagreb!
CROATIA: 550,000 Fans WELCOME CROATIAN World Cup Team in Zagreb! Official records of the Croatian police said that more than a 550 000 ppl welcome their heroes, our heroes, Croatian national soccer team at their arrival in Croatian capital city Zagreb from the Moscow after they played the finals in the world cup in Russia and won the silver medal.
The airplane which was carrying our players was followed by the 2 MIG combat airplanes of the Croatian national Airforce and first did a flyover the main city square and after that safely landed at the airport.
Passing through the 2 water cannons the airplane stopped, and at that moment everything was ready for the celebration that the world has never seen before. And I'm not even joking guys, more than a 250 foreign journalists were at the Zagreb today, ready to send the picture of the celebration through the whole world. and later in the video, you will see what am I talking about.
Luka Modric, our captain, winner of the Balon d'Or, golden ball, exit the first, followed by his teammates. All the players went to the special bus with no roof and the 6 hours long journey towards the main city square where the main welcome is going to happened just started.
Distance From the Zagreb airport dr. Franjo Tudjman to the main city square Trg Josipa Bana Jelacica is 16km, and usually, according to Google, you need around 27min. by car.
It took 6 hours to our team to reach their final destination due to the enormous number of fans along the whole way from the airport to the city square.
In the special bus with the open roof, our players had an unforgettable time and celebrate together with the whole nation along the way. Everybody wanted to show the gratitude for the 30 days of extreme happiness and pride, those guys had given us, our small nation. everybody wanted to touch them, take a picture of them or get the autograph on their flags, t-shirts or any favorite sport requisite colored in the red and white cubes..
The most common word used to describe this event was and STILL is indescribable, and that word in the Croatian language is and sound like this NEOPISIVO! there is a song that was like an anthem during this world cup with the same title! Right now I am going to skip to the very finale of the celebration and If you want to see the whole thing I will leave you the link for the full 8-hour stream from the Croatian national television in the description below this video!

Best Time to Visit Croatia I Journey from Dubrovnik to Zagreb I Ep8
In this episode of our Croatia travel series, I'll explain to you in details about the best time to visit Croatia. While on the way to Dubrovnik airport to fly to Zagreb I had a lengthy discussion with our Uber guy on the best time to visit Croatia and you will listen in his own voice what he thinks about the same and how it differs for different nationalities. The best time to visit Croatia is a subjective term and it all depends on your interests and what you want to see and do while in Croatia. If you watch the video the message is very clear. So choose your time based on your interests and that would be YOUR best time to visit Croatia.
Bonus: While on the way to Dubrovnik airport we took a detour to visit a place on the way, which most of the tourists misses. Exceptional view from this place and something you shouldn't miss while in Dubrovnik.
Flying from Zagreb Croatia to Belgrade Serbia to Podgorica Montenegro
Hello my Beloved!
How are you doing today?
How is your world doing?
Are you happy?
Are you totally being yourself?
Are you enjoying, who you really are?
Are you enjoying this beautiful day?
This day was gifted only for you!
And today we are going to adventure!
We flew from Zagreb (Croatia) to Belgrade (Serbia) and forward to Podgorica (Montenegro). That are three different countries! Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro! Of course, we started in Slovenia! Four different countries! In one day!
We parked at this beautiful parking spot. We had a reservation. London Parking spot. If you need parking place, I totally recommend this! They have also free transport to airport! Amazing! They were so kind!
(
And they have coffee shop there! That was our first coffee that trip! Bistro London! I chatted there with the nicest and most interesting girl ever! Coffee was very good! (
We drove to the parking lot for just under two hours. I stopped for the first time after ten or fifteen minutes. Of course, because of coffee ... but they did not have the kind I adore! So, we went forward!
The Zagreb airport was so modern building! I love spaciousness!
We immediately found everything! We didn't explore much around! But the time went fast, very fast, anyway!
Then the flight was delayed. For an hour. Then for two!
Until they gave it up!
Here the real adventure has just started!
They moved us to a four-star hotel! ( I was thrilled! Not just that! We got a breakfast too!
Everything was arranged for us. The tickets for the next flight!
Of course, I have nice memories of the airport in Belgrade (Serbia). And most of all, the iced-coffee! I ordered myself iced-coffee with the taste of white chocolate. The son – with the taste of vanilla. Of course, we accidentally switched them. It was a little hard to give it back because vanilla was divine! I enjoyed delicious coffee so much. In the meantime, we were watching time board of departure and outgoing flights.
Everything was running smoothly. We were flying with a small plane. Twice. I felt almost as if it was private, just for me ... it had such a beautiful tiny staircase!
We flew above the clouds. In the clouds. And without clouds ...
I love flying! Landing and of course taking off! The son has such a good sense of humor, it's always funny! We laugh so much together!
The most beautiful was the landing over Podgorica (Montenegro). The plane leaned so nicely towards the lake. We would almost touch the blue green surface of lake with the wing of the airplane. At least it looked like this.
The new adventure is waiting for us!
Lovely sweet day!

The Grič Tunnel or the tunnel under Grič was built as a shelter in the event of a bombing from 1943 to 1947. The main tunnel pipe from Mesnička Street to Radiceva Street is about 350 meters long and there are four side tunnels leading to the entrance / exit on the south side to the Ilica street. After the completion of construction in 1947, it was no longer used until the beginning of the 1991 Homeland War in Croatia, when it was reopened as a shelter. After the end of the Homeland War, it was neglected until a year ago when a decision was made to rebuild the interior (doors, floors, lighting and sanitary installations). It is now open to the public. The exit of the main pipe on Radićeva street is closed by the tenants Radićeva street 19 (entrance through their yard), and the 3rd side tunnel was closed for unknown reasons.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.

Flying back from Podgorica Montenegro to Belgrade Serbia to Zagreb Croatia

We flew from Podgorica (Montenegro) to Belgrade (Serbia) and forward to Zagreb (Croatia). That are three different countries! Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia! And we ended in Slovenia! Four different countries! In one day!
Our journey started with train! It was crowded. A lot of people was driving back from Sutomore to Podgorica. The wind was so gentle and refreshing on the train. It was time of sun setting, but was still very hot.
I met such a nice lady, when we were waiting for the train! She was so kind and lovely. She said to say hello to everybody in Maribor – and Portorož – and Ljubljana – also! She adores Slovenia!
We threw away sun cream, that the security didn’t have to do it! But firs we sprayed with it. Even though it was almost night! I never miss the opportunity to have fun!
I was night flight. It was so beautiful how little lights were becoming smaller and smaller and then invisible. The roads were like diamond neckless. And then they disappeared in night, too.
We slept few hours in airport Belgrade. Every time I looked around someone has joined – to find their sleeping spot. It was adventure.
The landings and take-offs were smooth in all places: Podgorica, Belgrade and Zagreb!
The new adventure is waiting for us!
Lovely sweet day!

The Big Exit
I'm turning in my skin,
alcoholic din, fills the room we're in
Girl, I think it's time we leave,
like a thief on Christmas Eve,
Take and you shall receive
No need to ask, you already know the way I feel inside.
Won't crowd amongst the shadows, see how much our love grows,
reflected in shop windows,
I love you as my blood flows,
as the rain ruins my best clothes,
you're a secret only I know.
No need to ask, you already know the way I feel inside.
No need to ask, you already know the way I feel inside.
Death at passing hours, dampness of a flower,
they took what once was ours,
they took what once was ours,
they took what once was ours,
they took what once was ours,
they took what once was ours.
No need to ask, you already know the way I feel inside,
