Nouria decided to head North in India to achieve her goal of kayaking. She had already heard of Zanskar and the lower part of the Indus, both of which are world famous.
She started in Zanskar, headed to Indus and transitioned through beautiful places of India while trying to survive very dangerous situations, both in rivers and on land.

We Rafted down from Bhagwan(100kms from Rishikesh) to Lakshman Jhula in 2 days and then again From Marine Drive to Shivpuri with Aquaterra encountering Famous Rapids like Crossfire, Three Blind Mice, Golf Course and Jail No Bail!
On the last day it was Time to Take Down The Infamous Wall! It sure didn't disappoint!

The Subansiri River originates in the Himalayas, in China. It flows east and southeast into India, then south to the Assam Valley, where it joins the Brahmaputra River. It is also the largest tributary of the Brahmaputra, one of Asia's major trans-boundary rivers.

Rafting in Rishikesh costs approximately Rs.450 to Rs.1800 per person. There are four different rafting stretches which vary depending on the level of adventure they proffer and so does their cost. It further varies, depending upon the number of participants.
1. Brahmapuri to Rishikesh River Rafting
The length covered is approximately 9 Km
The estimated time taken is 1.5 hours
The cost goes up to Rs.450 per person.
2. Shivpuri to Rishikesh
The length covered is approximately 16 Km
The estimated time taken is 3.5 hours
The cost goes up to Rs.650 per person.
3. Marine Drive to Rishikesh
The length covered is approximately 24 Km
The estimated time taken is 4.5 hours
The cost goes up to Rs.850 per person.
4. Kaudiyala to Rishikesh.
The length covered is approximately 34 K
The estimated time taken is 8 hours
The cost goes up to Rs.1800 per person.
05 Safety Measures in Rafting:
1) Non-swimmers or minors can also enjoy rafting, but abide by all the rules and regulations and follow the guide's instructions for safety.
2) Before joining the rafting expedition, one should get a health check-up done; fitness is extremely important for this activity.
3) Always paddle as a team and not individually.
4) Pay heed to all the guidelines and instructions from the tour guides or facilitators.
5) Do not wear casual sandals. It is preferable that you wear sports shoes or river sandals.
06 Things to Carry -------------------------------
1) Carry an extra pair of clothes, shoes and towels.
2) During rafting, wear suggested clothes only. One can wear a swim suit. T-shirt and shorts are also acceptable. Avoid wearing cotton.
3) One can carry their own cameras or video cameras at their own risk.
4) Carry a small first aid kit that has basic necessities like antiseptic cream and lotion, painkillers, etc.
5) It is advisable to carry Sunscreen lotion or any similar lotion.
6) Carry sunglasses or swimming goggles, if necessary.

All India Kayak Expedition - Kerala Filler (Ext. Cut)
Powered by Ford Endeavour, five paddlers from the UK and one from India will travel across the country, exploring new whitewater rivers to descend while following the monsoon rains from the southwest to the northeast.
We had paddled for over three weeks in Kerala and had taken part in what could be argued as one of the world’s greatest kayaking festivals; beautiful rivers, world class kayakers and of course, a free bar. But the time had come for our All-India journey to continue. This presented a change – our expedition vehicle was in Delhi and our next stop was Orissa.
