WELCOME to CUBA ???????? Havana to Varadero Vlog
In this vlog, we visit a country that has captivated travelers for years, Cuba! We embark on a cultural exchange trip to visit Havana, Cojimar, Varadero, and Santa Clara to learn about the people and culture. During the trip, we meet with the artists, entrepreneurs, and talented musicians who have shaped this country.
0:23 - 5:22 Santa Clara, Cuba - Visit to the Music and Performing Arts School
Starting in Santa Clara, we make a special visit to the Santa Clara Music and Performing Arts School. Here, we learn about the arts education programs in Cuba and see the students in action as they perform a mind-blowing performance of dance and live music.
5:38 - 7:55 Veradero Beaches
Next, we visit Varadero which is Cuba's premiere beach resort filled with white sand beaches and turquoise Caribbean waters. We visit the owners of a Danzón Club in Varadero where they demonstrate the official national dance and musical genre of Cuba.
7:58 - 8:45 Artist Workshop
Later, we visit a local Craft Workshop on the outskirts of Varadero where we meet artisans, Mariela Alemán Orosco who shows us how she makes art with fabric.
10:38 - 11:26 Cojimar
On our way to Havana, we stop in Cojimar, the fishing village and setting for Hemingway's book, The Old Man and the Sea.
11:34 - 21:00 Havana!
We end our tour in Havana - the lively and exquisite capital city of Cuba. We visit Plaza de la Revolución, Hemingway's beautiful mansion Finca Vigía, and Old Havana which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982 by UNESCO. We also learn about the arts and music with a visit El Tropicana which is a cabaret club, as well as visit a cigar making demonstration - one of Cuba's top exports.

--About my Cooperation with G Adventures—
A massive thanks goes out to my Sponsor G Adventures who helped me to pull this off and who were absolute legends in organizing this awesome „Cuba Libre“ tour.
For many years I was searching for a suitable partner who offers tours which align with my style of traveling as well as my values. After many meetings I’m glad I found this partner with G Adventures who offer many adventurous tour packages for travelers like me…but who also care about the environment and local communities in order to execute sustainable tourism. I forced this cooperation because I like the products and the philosophy of the company. Nevertheless all opinions, recommendations and views are my own.

Havana's best Cuban cigar tour
There's no better way to experience Cuba than through its cigars. The fascinating, long history of cigars in Cuba - from pagan gods to Fidel Castro - is connected to the incredible craft behind making them. This is the only way to understand one of the most mysterious parts of Cuban culture.
Our review of the Cuban cigar trail, Havana:
Cuba Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Cuba – Enjoy old-world architecture, famous cigars and classic cars in this long-isolated island nation. Check out Cuba’s top sights for travelers.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Cuba:
Despite being within easy reach of Florida and the Bahamas, #Cuba exists in a time and space all its own.
Explore Cuba’s capital, Havana, a city preserved by forts, a five-mile seawall, and an imposed embargo, which held back the excesses of the 20th century for over 50 years. Havana’s lure can be hard to resist, but a #vacation in Cuba can offer so much more beyond the seductive lights of its capital. In Cuba, a long sandy beach is never far away.
Sometimes it’s hard to know whether Cuba is awakening to the world, or if the world is awakening to Cuba. Whatever your politics, it's easy to admire this island nation that has proudly gone its own way. Cuba may still have one foot firmly in the past, but as the world tumbles towards tomorrow, we can be thankful for the many things it has not let go.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

CUBA VLOG#1: Old Havana Walking Tour, Classic Car Tour & Hotel Room Tour | Ian Sta Maria
If there is any other term better than beautiful, then that is how I would describe Cuba!! Welcome to my first vlog (aka not me sitting just in front of the camera), and welcome to the beautiful city of Havana, Cuba!
Trust me, we went to Cuba with no prior knowledge on how to survive there as tourists, but luckily, the locals were really friendly, the food was amazing and our hotel was located right in the middle of Old Havana! According to the locals, not only are we one of the few Filipinos who have been to Cuba, most of the Filipinos who go there are those who work as a seaman. So we were always mistaken for either Japanese or Chinese - any other form of Asian ethnicity aside from being Filipino. But we had an awesome amazing time in Cuba!
The only problem I think with Cuba is the money part because the tourists are only allowed to use the CUC (Cuban Convertible Peso), and you have to have enough of that to go around Cuba. Cuba can be expensive because 1 CUC is = 1 euro. Don't ever use your dollars to have it changed because they charge an extra 10%.
For more of my Cuba adventures, I will be posting a blog entry on my blog: itsianstamaria.com and I will be sharing EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CUBA there, so you could check that out.
I will be uploading another Cuba vlog a few days from now, so please stay tuned!

Havana (/həˈvænə/; Spanish: La Habana, [la aˈβana] is the capital city, largest city, province, major port, and leading commercial center of Cuba. The city has a population of 2.1 million inhabitants, and it spans a total of 728.26 km2 (281.18 sq mi) – making it the largest city by area, the most populous city, and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the Caribbean region. The city extends mostly westward and southward from the bay, which is entered through a narrow inlet and which divides into three main harbors: Marimelena, Guanabacoa and Atarés. The sluggish Almendares River traverses the city from south to north, entering the Straits of Florida a few miles west of the bay.
The city of Havana was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century and due to its strategic location it served as a springboard for the Spanish conquest of the Americas, becoming a stopping point for treasure-laden Spanish galleons returning to Spain. King Philip II of Spain granted Havana the title of City in 1592. Walls as well as forts were built to protect the old city. The sinking of the U.S. battleship Maine in Havana's harbor in 1898 was the immediate cause of the Spanish–American War.
Contemporary Havana can essentially be described as three cities in one: Old Havana, Vedado and the newer suburban districts. The city is the center of the Cuban government, and home to various ministries, headquarters of businesses and over 90 diplomatic offices. The current mayor is Marta Hernández of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC). In 2009, the city/province had the third highest income in the country.
The city attracts over a million tourists annually; the Official Census for Havana reports that in 2010 the city was visited by 1,176,627 international tourists, a 20% increase from 2005. Old Havana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. The city is also noted for its history, culture, architecture and monuments. As typical of Cuba, Havana experiences a tropical climate.
In May 2015, Havana was selected as one of the so-called New7Wonders Cities together with Beirut, Doha, Durban, Kuala Lumpur, La Paz, and Vigan.
José Martí International Airport (IATA: HAV, ICAO: MUHA), sometimes known by its former name Rancho-Boyeros Airport, is an international airport located 15 km (9 mi) southwest of Havana, Cuba, and is a hub for Cubana de Aviación and Aerogaviota, and former Latin American hub for Aeroflot Soviet Airlines. It is Cuba's main international and domestic gateway, and serves several million passengers each year. The airport is operated by Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeronáuticos (ECASA).
The airport lies in the municipality of Boyeros and connects Havana with the rest of the Caribbean, North, Central and South America, Europe and one destination each in Africa (to Luanda by TAAG Angola Airlines) and Asia (to Beijing, via Montreal by Air China). It is named in memory of patriot and poet José Martí.
In the 1960s, the airport was bombed by B-26 aircraft from Brigade 2506, a CIA-sponsored group of Cuban exiles attempting to liberate Cuba from Fidel Castro. Cubans are not allowed to own aircraft or use the airport for either private or commercial flight. Only government-owned aircraft are allowed to use the facilities. Today, Copa Airlines is the foreign airline with most flights to the airport, operating 34 flights a week (roughly 5 daily flights) from Panama City, Panama and Bogotá, Colombia.

Havana, Cuba - Out Of This World Experience (October 2017)
My recent trip to Cuba was amazing, traveling alone to a country you are not familiar with is truly an adventure. A place I never been and never planned to visit until couple months ago. I recently visited Mexico and I love it so much that I want to go to other latin country with amazing culture. I been watching Vlogs here on YouTube and I came across with Vlogs about Cuba. It was very interesting and I thought I should go and explore the culture.
I thought Cuba is one of those very restrictive and supressive country. Well in some way yes (Politically), but it's also country that is very inviting and populated with the most friendliest and kindest people I ever met. It's is so peaceful and safe. I didn't expect that I will actual fall in love with its charm, its culture, its music, history, and of course its people.
I am must admit that it was kinda bittersweet. I truly admired how patriotic Cubanos are, and their government providing their basic needs in spite of the little resources they have. It was truly an eye opening how privillige we are living in developed countries. But there're many things about Cubans and their country that i really admired. Their compassion, humilty and humbleness. These things are almost none existent anymite in most developed society. I hope when Cuba will change its course and open up their country to the world, they could still keep those good values. That would really be amazing. Because once things will change, it is irreversable.
Thank you watching!
