Our Visit to Grand Bahama Island - Experienced with Hida - January 2013
We traveled for the first time to Grand Bahama Island. Booking with Hida for two days of this trip enabled us to experience so much more and learn so much more about this paradise. Hida is a true professional, and within minutes of meeting her you will count her as a forever friend.
Never having been to Grand Bahama Island we wanted to maximize our time and we were lucky enough to have found Hida. Without having Experienced Grand Bahama with Hida, we would not have walked barefoot on Gold Rock Beach, we would not have met a Pot Cake, we would not have experienced Junkanoo and learned how it came to be and who it was named after. We would not have welcomed in the New Year at a roaring campfire on a beautiful beach after having enjoyed a delicious feast.
For us, being out on the water is paramount to making us feel we are truly castaways in Paradise. Our day with Hida and Captain Bryan and Jessie fishing, swimming, snorkeling, catching lobsters (did I say at least 50 lobsters!) and then eating fresh Conch salad with fixings from Captain Bryan's home garden and following that up with grilled lobster and fish (yes, the lobster and fish we just caught!) all while marooned on a deserted, amazing beach only accessible by boat and not another soul for miles. The Rum punch and meal was complimented by a delicious dessert made by Bryan's wife .. too scrumptiuos. There is not a 5 star restaurant in the world that can top that in our book. We enjoyed every minute of our time with Hida and Company and can without hesitation say that you will not be disappointed by Experiencing Grand Bahama with Hida - it's the BEST way to vacation!

As we begin our sailing cruise, we first visit the island's west end and Freeport Harbor. We also get to see Lucaya, where most of the island's tourism is focused. Next, we head to the Garden of the Groves and the exciting Port Lucaya marketplace.
