Prince Edward Island Travel Guide | Visiting PEI Canada:
Today we’re going to be taking you around Prince Edward Island, one of Canada’s 3 maritime provinces and the final destination of our road trip! We had four days to explore the island and during that time, we visited fishing villages, walked along the famous red sand beaches, toured the home of Anne of Green Gables, sampled our first lobster roll, and enjoyed a delicious seafood feast prepared by Sam’s uncle who is a chef on the island. It was a really fun visit, so all that and more coming up in this video!
We quickly retreated back to the farmhouse we had rented, and despite the mosquitoes attacking, we did get to enjoy a nice sunset on our sprint back.
The following morning, we got up bright and early ready to explore the island. Our first stop, a beach for Togo to splash around in.
After our visit to the beach, we hopped back in the car and drove up to Cavendish, where the main attraction is Green Gables Heritage Place. Whether you’ve read the books, seen the movies, or watched the series, setting foot here will transport you to the late 19th century where you can relive Anne’s adventures.
The following morning we woke up to a rather grey and rainy day, but that wasn’t going to keep us from exploring the island. We hopped in the car and drove to Greenwich Beach, which had been recommended to us by a local.
We drove to a nearby town where Togo got to enjoy some playtime on the beach, and after he had his fill of splashing around and fetching the stick, we got back in the car. At this point, the rain was really starting to pick up, so we returned back to the farmhouse.
The next morning we drove to nearby Borden-Carleton, a town located right at the foot of the Confederation Bridge. Every tourist who drives to PEI passes through here, plus the town has a few tourist attractions like a lighthouse, a boxcar, and some fun photo ops. And have I mentioned that you get the best views of the Confederation Bridge? Because you do!
That evening we had a very special guest. Sam’s uncle, Hans Anderegg, is a Swiss chef who lives on the island and teaches at the Culinary Institute of Canada. He kindly prepared us a seafood feast featuring oysters, scallops, fish and lobster. It was mouthwateringly delicious!

How do I get started in the PEI school system?
Before your child can start school in PEI they must register. School begins with kindergarten when your child is five years old and finishes in Grade 12. Most students who move to Prince Edward Island from another province register directly with their new school, however, children who were born outside of Canada or who speak a language other than English or French in their home must register with the English as an Additional Language/French as an Additional Language Reception Centre. Staff of the EAL/FAL Reception Centre will assess each student's language proficiency and assist you with school registration. The Prince Edward Island Association for Newcomers to Canada can also provide support as you prepare your child for school, including answering questions and providing you with an interpreter for parent/teacher interviews and meetings. Parent/teacher interviews are held a few times a year so that you can discuss your child's progress with his or her teacher. These interviews are just one way that you as a parent can make sure that your child is getting the most out of his or her school experience. For more information about the Prince Edward Island school system, please visit

July 5, 2017 - On my first night in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, I get my bearings by exploring the downtown core of this delightfully small city on this beautiful little island province.
I see sights such as City Hall, Victoria Park, Charlottetown Harbour, mighty oak trees, the cruise port, the Harbour Hippo, Peake's Quay, Queen Street, Victoria Row, and the main shopping district downtown, plus the spires of St. Dunstan's Basilica Cathedral and, of course, Province House, the birthplace of confederation of my home and native land.

RoadTrip - East Coast of Canada (Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Quebec) VLOG 2018
I am a little late but this road trip was a lifetime experience and a memory I will cherish. Growing up, every summer (or at least every other summer) my parents have taken me and Sean somewhere outside of Canada to adventure and explore. So our summer’s have always been eventful and unique. This past summer, when my chitty from England, my younger cousin and my chittappa (uncle) stopped by Canada, it was our responsibility to show them around. Unfortunately me and Sean struggled for a solid two -three weeks trying to find interesting places to look at when explored New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Quebec. We found mysterious locations that some people on the internet and books suggested to look at, and so we made a road plan and stuck with it – one can only hope for the best.
But I only truly have one word to really explain how beautiful Canada really is – “WOW”. The funny part is – this was only the East Coast. I tried my best to sum up, the rocky beautiful parts of New Brunswick, or the beautiful green prairies in Prince Edward Island, or perhaps Quebec’s city and lively nights. Canada truly is beautiful and I am so glad I got to experience this road trip! If I could I would go back just to re-live the experience!
