Varanasi Experience
Journey to Experience Varanasi in Person,
Varanasi is a city in the Northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites.
INDIA - A Varanasi Experience
A cinematic short of moments along the Ganges River and the Ganga Aarti ritual in Varanasi, India. look at the details, listen to the sounds and find the story. enjoy.
Shot on Canon 6D w/ Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens
I've learnt a lot from making this short film and there's still so much for me to improve. I know that I can do better than this now. I've sat on this work for so long that I think its about time I released this. Also, none of the colours have been edited in this film. I want you to see exactly what I saw in these moments. and I realised there are shots in this that seem to have lost data on export, but it's whatever.
Thanks a lot for acknowledging my work

Varanasi Tourism | Famous 15 Places to Visit in Varanasi Tour
Explore the famous Varanasi tourist places and sightseeing spots for the best Varanasi tour experience.
Some of the Top 15 Points of Interest in Varanasi City for Tourism Visit are:
Varanasi Tourism:
1. Kashi Vishwanath Temple 2. Sarnath Museum 3. Sikandara Dashashwanmedh Ghat 4. Ganges 5. Assi Ghat
Varanasi Tour:
Varanasi, considered to be one of the holiest cities in the country has one of the oldest settlements in the world dating back to 11th century BC. It is commonplace which is visited by thousands of pilgrims every year along with other tourists who want to see the splendid glory of the city with various top places to visit in Varanasi. There are people who also believe that dying in this holy city would bring salvation to them. So let’s see what this centuries-old city has to offer to the tourists traveling here and places to visit in Varanasi.
The most effective method to Reach Visit Varanasi
Via Air: The closest air terminal to the city is the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport which 25 KM north-west of the city. From that point you can take an auto or a contracted navigate to achieve your goal.
Via Train: The city is all around associated with all the significant urban communities in the nation from trains going back and forth to Delhi, Agra, Kolkata, Lucknow and the sky is the limit from there.
By Bus: The transport station in Varanasi is found east of the Varanasi Junction. A basic auto takes around Rs 100 to achieve the Ganges.
This glorious city has a considerable measure to offer to the travelers coming here. The brilliant and profound city charms the general population with the different spots it has in its accumulation. The peacefulness is the thing that hypnotizes the most to the vacationers here. The city is been gone to by a great many Hindu travelers every year to watch the magnificent culture of the Indian people. The best time to visit Varanasi is from October to March as the searing warmth of the sun is at the negligible point yet the nippy winters may constrain you to convey woolen garments.
The city was before known as Kashi meaning the city of lights. Amid the night the city gleams from the light of the candles and skimming diyas.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Varanasi, India in 4K Ultra HD
The Ghats of Varanasi, along the banks of Ganges River, from Sunrise until the night time ceremony.
Varanasi (Benares) is the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and Jainism and spiritual capital of India. The city existed at least 3,000 years ago (and possibly much earlier) and according to legend was founded by the god Shiva.
The Ganges is a sacred river to Hindus and dying in Varanasi, and being cremated there on the banks of the Ganges is considered to grant instant salvation.

Varanasi City Guide | India Travel Videos
Join us as we visit Varanasi city in this travel guide featuring the best things to do in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Varanasi (also known as Benares, Banaras and/or Kashi) is the spiritual capital of India. As the holiest of seven sacred cities in Hinduism and Jainism you find many people from all over India visiting as well as tourists. In terms of attractions in Varanasi it is a destination worth visiting for the experience rather than a checklist of places to visit. Coming to the various ghats by day and night reveals what Varanasi is all about. You can take a boat ride in the morning for sunrise or later in the evening for sunset but the rest of the time I'd recommend just walking along the ghats and getting lost in the maze of back alleys in the old part of the city. At night be sure to check out the many evening performances and also it is worth visiting a burning ghat but remember to be respectful by putting away your camera.
Things to do in Varanasi Travel Guide:
1) Ganga Aarti (श्री गंगा आरती) performance at night in Varanasi where Brahmans hold large bowls of fire in their hands while offering holy mantras to river Ganges, Shiva (Hindu God of destruction), Surya (Sun God) and the universe
2) Dashashwamedh Ghat (दशाश्वमेध घाट) main ghat on the Ganga River
3) Wandering around in back-alleys in the old city quarter of Varanasi
4) Manikarnika Ghat (मणिकर्णिका घाट) burning ghat where bodies are cremated along the Ganges River
5) Boat ride in Varanasi on the Ganges River either for sunrise or sunset
6) Visiting the many ghats in Varanasi during different times of the day and in the evening

Our visit Varanasi travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a ghats guide, burning ghats, fascinating temples and the city by day and evening when Varanasi comes alive at night with performances. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Varanasi tourism brochure, Varanasi city tour or Varanasi itinerary.
Varanasi City Guide | India Travel Video transcript:
Alright guys it is our second last destination here in India. We have finally made it to Varanasi (वाराणसी) & this is our first morning exploring the ghats.
Ghats is the word used to describe the steps that lead down to the river’s edge. There are a total of 87 ghats in Varanasi (वाराणसी), some bigger than others, but we just focused on a handful, starting at Dashashwamedh Ghat (दशाश्वमेध घाट) & working our way down. Along the way we saw former palaces built by royal families, cheap guesthouses that cater to backpackers & plenty of temples.
As lively as the Ganges is by day, we also made time to visit by night so we could watch the Ganga Aarti ceremony. This is a fire worship ceremony that takes place at Dashashwamedh Ghat (दशाश्वमेध घाट), with lots of singing, chanting, burning candles and billowing incense. You can watch the ceremony from the steps or aboard the boats for a small fee arriving early to claim a spot as it gets busy.
So one of my favorite things to do here in Varanasi (वाराणसी) is just wander around like go exploring through the old town is just like a labyrinth, it is like a maze. There is so much people watching. There is a lot of animals & cows. There is also a lot of opportunity to shop as well.
Lastly, it wouldn’t have been a proper trip to Varanasi (वाराणसी) without taking a boat ride down the Ganges River. We were up before the crack of dawn to meet our boatman, and our early morning wake up call was rewarded with one of the best sunrises we saw in India.
So we're wrapping things up here in Varanasi (वाराणसी) at the train station. We've done all of our train travel in India by trains so it is kind of appropriate that our very last journey to Kolkata is by train.
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

Varanasi, The spiritual capital of India - a place where people come from all over the country to breathe their last, and immerse the ashes in the holy Ganges for the beginning of a new life. A visit to Varanasi has always been in my bucket list, and being able to film there was like an icing on the cake.
Honestly, words fail to describe what I have seen while on this epic trip with Photowalk Dubai. No wonder Varanasi is called the City of Life. Simply love this place. And this is my attempt to give you a sense of what it was like to experience the amazing Varanasi and the mysterious vicious cycle of life and death...

There really isn’t anything radically wrong with being sick or with dying. We can’t say that it’s a good thing for everything to go on living. In a very simple demonstration that if we enable everybody to go on living, we overcrowd ourselves. So therefore, one person who dies in a way is honourable because he’s making room for others…
It’s a far more amusing arrangement for nature to continue the process of life through different individuals then it is always with the same individual, because as each new individual approaches life is renewed. And one remembers how fascinating the most ordinary everyday things are to a child, because they see them all as marvellous.
It is not, therefore, natural for us to wish to prolong life indefinitely. But we live in a culture where it has been rubbed into us in every conceivable way that to die is a terrible thing.

After this, we walked DEEP into another lane and found a MALAI milk cream spiced with saffron. It was very delicious, frothy, creamy, and sweet.
Next up, we went for another milk based street food in India, the LASSI. It was quite sweet as well and was served with a ton of pistachio! After finishing our delicious Indian breakfast street food in Varanasi, we went for a HUGE Indian lunch at a famous Indian restaurant in Varanasi. The Indian recipes here were absolutely delicious. There were some baked dumplings that were super unique, you’ll have to watch the street food vlog to find out why, but they were definitely worth coming for. All the flavours here at this Indian restaurant were spicy, tangy, sweet, astringent, and overall very healthy and we would definitely come back to eat more of this delicious food.
After this, we went for our final street food in Varanasi, the paan. It was packed with spices and very cheap. A very strong flavour that I’m not sure I would eat again, but definitely worth trying once on the streets of India

The poetry you hear at the start, is a quote i found on google.

For the last part poetry:
Given that I'm not a Hindi scholar, I picked a few quotes here and there, and combined some, wrote some on my own, and produced this:
जहा महादेव की छाया हैं,
और मोक्ष की माया भी,
जहा राख भी पारस हैं,
बेमोल कोई पत्थर नहीं,
जहा ज़िन्दगी जश्न हैं,
और मौत भी, मुक्ति हैं, मातम नहीं,

Varanasi ( Banaras, Kashi) 5 am to 8.30 Pm , Episode 1
Our Day at Banaras started with Subah -E -Banaras, dip in the Holy waters of Ganga, visit to Bhagwan Vishwanath temple. We also explored local food, enjoyed some unique chaat like Tamatar chaat.
This journey ended with Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh ghat. It was a very long day, great spiritual learning at Banaras and a lovely day.

Experience India: The Ganga Aarti at Varanasi
Visiting India is an incredible experience all around - from the delicious food, to the incredible art and history, to the unique culture, there’s something for every kind of traveller across this beautiful country. Part of that culture, and a part that no trip would be complete without, lives in Varanasi, and today we’re heading there to take a closer look at it.
Every evening at dusk, something amazing happens in the three holy cities (Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi). The ritual is called the Ganga Aarti, and it’s not to be missed! An aarti is a ritual which offers fire to the gods, and, in the case of the Ganga Aarti, diyas (handmade clay pots used for rituals such as this and on holy days like Diwali) float down the Ganges River in devotion to the Goddess Ganga.
With the belief that the beautiful lamps on the river take on the power of the Goddess Ganga, devotees cup their hands over the flame and bring their palms to their foreheads, in hope of receiving the Goddess’s blessing.
Every Ganga Aarti ceremony is a sight to behold, but the ceremony in Varanasi is something extra special. A carefully-choreographed routine, the Varanasi Ganga Aarti is performed on stage, by specially-trained young pandits.
It’s a truly special, spiritual thing to witness a Ganga Aarti, but being a part of the ceremony in Varanasi can be just that little bit more magical! If you know you need to see the ceremony in person, why not start planning a spiritual excursion to India for yourself? Head to TourRadar to see this tour’s itinerary, or one of hundreds of others.
