EXPLORING the historic city of EPHESUS (EFES, ΕΦΕΣΟΣ), a complete tour (TURKEY)
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go visit Ephesus (Greek: Ἔφεσος Ephesos; Turkish: Efes) which was an ancient Greek city[ on the coast of Ionia, three kilometres southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. The city flourished after it came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC.
The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.[6] Among many other monumental buildings are the Library of Celsus, and a theatre capable of holding 25,000 spectators.
The ruins of Ephesus are a favourite international and local tourist attraction, partly owing to their easy access from Adnan Menderes Airport or from the cruise ship port of Kuşadası, some 30 km to the South.

Traveling from Kusadasi to Ancient Ephesus - The History of Turkey from our Guide
We departed from Athens by sea and met our guide in Turkey where we traveled from Kusadasi to Ancient Ephesus. In this video, our guide tells us some history of Turkey before we arrive for our tour of Ephesus, the city where Paul the Apostle preached in the synagogue. But the Apostle Paul was not able to preach in the theater due to a silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, a Greek goddess, and caused his fellow tradesmen to riot and shout, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”, causing an uproar in the city and disciples and friends of the Apostle Paul begged him not to venture into the theater. (See the Book of Acts 19 in the Bible.)

Ephesus-
It was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia ,the ancient city of Ephesus and the Virgin Mary.It was three kilometres southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. The city flourished after it came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC.
The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Greek goddess Artemis and the great Anatolian goddess Kybele were identified together as Artemis of Ephesus. The many-breasted Lady of Ephesus, identified with Artemis, was venerated in the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the largest building of the ancient world according to Pausanias .
Pausanias mentions that the temple was built by Ephesus, son of the river god Caystrus, before the arrival of the Ionians. Of this structure, scarcely a trace remains
Among many other monumental buildings are the Library of Celsus, and a theatre capable of holding 25,000 spectators.
The city was destroyed by the Goths in 263, and although rebuilt, the city's importance as a commercial centre declined as the harbour was slowly silted up by the Küçükmenderes River. It was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD.
The ruins of Ephesus are a favourite international and local tourist attraction, partly owing to their easy access from Adnan Menderes Airport or from the cruise ship port of Kuşadası, some 30 km to the South
Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of Revelation.[8] The Gospel of John may have been written here. The city was the site of several 5th century Christian Councils (see Council of Ephesus).
The city was destroyed by the Goths in 263, and although rebuilt, the city's importance as a commercial centre declined as the harbour was slowly silted up by the Küçükmenderes River. It was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD.

Our next point to see was Kusadasi town-- -(Kusadasi, a Turkish port off the Aegean Sea is translated as Bird Island, due to how the peninsula that it is situated on looks from the sea – like a bird’s head above sea level)
. The primary reason for people going to Kusadasi is its glorious beaches, busy nightlife and its strategic position to many historical sites like the ruins of Ephesus. Everything in Kusadasi is more or less driven towards tourism; it’s the main source of income.
Kuşadası is a resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast, and the center of the seaside district of the same name within Aydın Province. Kuşadası is 95 km (59 mi) south of İzmir, and 71 km (44 mi) from Aydın.
The municipality's primary industry is tourism.Kuşadası caters to tourists arriving by land, or from the port for cruise ship passengers heading to Ephesus. As much i could remember,we visited a carpet center in Kusadasi.Turkey hand made carpets were woven and selling there at high price but the welcome- treat was really warm.

T U R K E Y - 'Kusadasi - Sirince - Pamukkale '
Ever since we have a family holiday home we visit Turkey at least one time a year. But although we can almost call it our home, there are a lot of beautiful things we explore everyday.
This video takes us to where culture meets adventure - the architecture will fascinate you and the experiences you have will thrill you.
Kusadasi is a modern, western city located at the west - coast of Turkey. It is a very popular holiday destination for tourists because of its nice and cosy bars, restaurants, shopping malls and luxury marina. From our house we can see the greek island Samos which is only 30 minutes away with the ferry.
Sirince is a small, historic town with only 600 inhabitants. Back in the days Sirince was called Cirkince which means ugly. Not because it was actually ugly, but to mislead other people and to keep the beauty of the village secret. Nowadays it is known for its vineyards, beautiful squares and the houses on the hill.
Pamukkale means cotton castle in Turkish and is a natural phenomenon in Turkey. It is known for its lime terraces.
These lime terraces provide a special view that looks like a frozen waterfall. This phenomenon is visited every year by millions of tourists.
Next to Pamukkale is the archaeological city, Hierapolis. Here are still several remnants of the Roman buildings that were in use around 190 BC. The highlight is the theater with its own temple.
The past 3 weeks (may 2019) were amazing and captured together in just 3 minutes.
Events in chronological order:
- 7 Bilgeler wineyard
- Sirince
- Kusadasi harbor
- Kusadasi boulevard
- Lady's beach
- Quad tour
- Hierapolis
- Pamukkale
- Lime terraces
- Villa Izarra Saray in Yaylaköy
