EVENTFUL DAY IN MOSTAR || Bosnia and Herzegovina Vlog
#mostar #travelvlog #visitbosnia
Today I explore Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I had an incredible day walking around this old town. I loved learning about the history of this town. I spend the first part of the day exploring on my own around the Mostar Bridge, then I sample a traditional dish. I end the day with an incredible walking tour where I had the privilege of learning about the war from someone who experienced it. Most of this isn't in the video as I have missing footage, but I had to mention it. It was one of the most enlightening days of my travels so far.

This is Why You Need to Visit Mostar | Bosnia & Herzegovina
The family holiday has come to an end as we finish our road trip in Bosnia & Herzegovina and honestly you guys need to visit Mostar - this bucket list spot is a must!
After leaving Montenegro to make the drive across to Mostar we saw absolutely incredible views on the drive in as we crossed the mountains and made our way down.
Upon arrival we just HAD to see the Mostar bridge before catching one of the famous divers jumping off the bridge. Afterwards we went to find some Bosnian food at a local Mostar restuarant.
We tried Bosnian Food:
- Bosnian Coffee
- Imam Baildi
- Veggie Platter
- Hurmasica
The next day we headed out to see the Dervish house at Blagaj which was a major spot for us to finally see :)
Hope you enjoyed this series :) next stop...

David’s Been Here takes you to Bosnia and Herzegovina to discover what to see and do in the beautiful city of Mostar. The city is well known in the Balkans for its impressive Ottoman-era architecture and laid-back atmosphere. When there aren’t tourists, the old part of the city is ideal for strolling, shopping, and sipping coffee at a local kafana (coffee shop).
David and his friend Sasha spend 2 days exploring Mostar. Their first stop is also the most popular attraction in town – the 16th century Stari Most Bridge (means “Old Bridge”). Sasha explains a little bit about Stari Most’s history and how you can watch the world-famous Mostari Dive Club members do the death-defying jump into the freezing Neretva River below.
David and Sasha then make a quick stop at the Crooked Bridge, which was used as a trial run before the Ottomans built Stari Most. Afterwards David is able to capture two different jumps off Stari Most, which is exciting since tourists don’t always scrounge up enough to pay the divers the 25-euro fee to jump for the crowd. It may seem fun and games, but it is actually quite dangerous! Sasha explains that anyone can jump but they must first get training from a member of the dive club.
Then onto the Biscevica House, a beautiful 17th century Turkish home that holds a great deal of folk art and features traditional architecture. It was built in 1637 and has been in the same family for the past 4 generations. The most intriguing architectural feature of the Biscevica House is the sitting room supported by only 2 exterior pillars. Biscevica House is a museum, so anyone can visit. Other beautiful features include the hand-carved wood and copper works.
Onto the next stop, which is the Muslibegovic House, another 17th century Turkish house that currently serves as a museum/ hotel. In 2010, Expedia.com readers voted the Muslibegovic House 8th best hotel in the world.
David then heads to Koski-Mehmed Pasha Mosque to go up to the top of its minaret for bird’s eye views of Mostar and the iconic Stari Most Bridge. Sasha then takes David to another beautiful building in Mostar, the Karadjoz Bey Mosque. It dates back to 1556 and was built by the Ottomans. This is actually one of the largest Mosques in the country.
We hope you enjoyed David’s suggestions for what to see and do in Mostar.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MOSTAR, BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
Welcome to part #1 of our adventures in Mostar! It’s our first time in Bosnia & Herzegovina together but we are loving the city of Mostar and have already booked another night so that we can learn more about this part of the world and share it with you. We start the day off with some burek from Musala, explore the biggest mosque in the city for some great views of the old bridge and share some of the common Bosnian greetings that we’ve learned. It was a rainy/gloomy day but that’s never stopped us from making a video!

MOSTAR BOSNIA old town and ABANDONED Buildings
Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of them few places in the world that keeps bringing you back! from the friendly locals and amazing local Bosnian cuisine to the war torn past and old ottoman buildings. Mostar certainly has a lot to offer.
This was my 3rd time visiting and this time actually got outside of the old town. we stumbled across an abandoned building and explored until we dared not go any deeper. we later found out that this used to be a bank and was used as a vantage tower during the 1990s war. Not until afterwards did we see the Keep out signs , so sorry!
It was fun to see the divers/jumpers in full swing too jumping off of the stari most.! they have some nerves jumping from the old bridge! did you know the water is around 10 degrees Celsius too?
We really hope this vlog has inspired you to come and visit Mostar, even as a day trip from Dubrovnik? we totally think its worth it, mostar is by far one of the top things to do in Bosnia and Herzegovina

South Bosnia: Tour of Mostar, Konjic, Jablanica, Počitelj & Blagaj
Today we continue our Bosnian holiday by venturing further into the heart of Herzegovina and explore Konjic, Jablanica, Počitelj, Blagaj, and Mostar (where we see a jump from the famous bridge!). Join me as we take a day tour from Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and explore the beauty of southern Bosnia.
In Konjic, we explore the old bridge & old town. In Jablanica, we learn about the greatest WW2 story of Bosnia - the Battle of Neretva. Then we explore Počitelj, to explore the pearl of Ottoman-mediterranean architecture, before heading to Blagaj where we visit the dervish house and buna river. Then we finally end our trip in the epic city of Mostar
This UNESCO based trip is undoubtedly one of the best ways to plunge into experiencing this southern region of Herzegovina and its breathtaking scenery. It also offers a deeper insight into the fascinating cultural diversity and mind provoking history of the country.
