Just landed in Da Nang Vietnam? Then you definitely want to chek this out! We did the morning walking tour and it was a great way to start the day. We are Leon and Tash, a New Zealand vlogging couple who set off on an amazing Vietnam adventure, as fulltime travellers, backpacking Vietnam.
But we weren't going to travel to Vietnam for one of those ordinary backpacking Vietnam trips you hear about everybody doing, where they go for a couple off weeks and check out the beaches or maybe riding through Vietnam at such a crazy pace that they never get off the beaten track. No we want more than that.
Our Vietnam adventures start with learning the way of the locals, taking just enough time to figure out how things work, discover what the Must see places in Vietnam are and more importantly where Vietnam's hidden gems are...
To do this, we moved to Danang Vietnam. The plan was to spend 3 months living in Da Nang, meeting and learning from locals about the culture, the amazing food, their way of living and what places they would recommend to travel in Vietnam.
And because Danang is in the middle of the country, we hoped we might meet other tourists or expats who were having their own Vietnam travel adventure or were at the halfway point of motorcycle riding through Vietnam and hear from them, what places they thought we must visit in Vietnam. Also, as new travel vloggers, having a base there meant we could try things like doing Da Nang Vietnam travel vlog or creating a Danang Vietnam travel guide, before also taking on the stresses of fulltime travel.
Then in month 4, that's when the real Vietnam adventure begins. With our new list of must see places, we will head to Saigon and buy a couple of motorbikes. to start our Vietnam road trip!
Motorcycle riding through Vietnam seems like one of the most hectic, crazy and chaotic things anyone could do, but we can't wait!! And we wont be following a simple South to North / Saigon to Hanoi route, we plan on doing more like a figure 8, so that our travel in Vietnam will cover both the inland and coastal areas of this amazing country.
So can we still say we are backpacking Vietnam? Or should we be telling people our travel in Vietnam is a motorcycle trip through Vietnam? We're not sure, but what we do know is, our Vietnam road trip is going to cover over 6000km's from Saigon right up to the famous waterfalls of Ban Gioc near Cao Bang, round the northern point of the Ha Giang loop and everything else we can access in between. So we hope you'll join us, the New Zealand vlogging couple, on our Vietnam adventure by clicking subscribe to join the Tribe and experience our travel in Vietnam..

We have been living in Da nang for 2 months now and we already have a few of our favourite spots to eat here.
Banh Xeo is a Vietnamese pancake. Which is made from rice flour, water and turmeric. It usually includes shrimp or pork or both.
Banh mi is a Vietnamese sandwich. Made up of cucumber, coriander, mint, pickled vegetables, chilli paste, pate and chilli paste. (Your choice of meat or egg).
My quang is a dish authentic to Da Nang and the Quang nam province. It is usually made up of rice noodles, meat, herbs, a small amount of broth infused with turmeric, peanuts and green onions.
And last but not least, Bun cha. Which is made up of grilled pork, white rice noodles, a plate of fresh greens, herbs with a side of dipping sauce (soup).
In this vlog i also try some Vietnamese coffee, which may come to a surprise to you as i don’t usually drink coffee, however this one tasted great.
Hope this was a good introduction to the Vietnamese food scene.

About me:
Hi my name is Lana,
I come from the north of New Zealand.
I made the decision to quit my job as a nurse and go travelling. I enjoy slow travel and spending more time in each city to get a feel for the culture and how the locals truly live. Travelling can be hard when you don't have the information you need, especially as a tourist, the prices of things are usually heightened. My vlogs will show you how you too can travel cheaply, less touristy and how to travel full time.
My aim is to show you the realness of travelling, and to give you the information that you need as a traveller.
So I hope you can follow me on my journey to see this lovely world of ours!

72 HOURS IN DA NANG | THINGS TO DO | VIETNAM VLOG #015
72 hours in Da Nang, Vietnam. Vietnam Vlog #15
We recently spent three days in Da Nang and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. This vlog covers everything that we saw, ate and did during our time there. So sit back - its a long one! And enjoy!
To start off with we checked in at our accommodation, we stayed at Christina's Hostel, which we actually found on AirBnB, you don't have to book like this, I think you can also just call or simply pitch up, they usually do have some rooms or bunks available.
The area called My An has so many cool restaurants and cafe's, if you do visit Da Nang, we highly recommend you make an effort to stay in or around this area. We ate some really good food here and it was dirt cheap too. The beach is a short walk away and it's amazing!
We used Mango Bike hire and had no issues with them, they are also really cheap and the bike seemed to handle all we threw at it for the 3 days!
As you saw, we took a bike ride up to Hai Van Pass, it's a stunning ride and we highly recommend this too. There are places to stop and get drinks but they don't have much to eat so we would recommend you take some food along with you.
Getting a massage is something we would definitely recommend you do, they are so good! We used the Silk Spa in the street of our hostel so check them out! It was a magically relaxing experience.
Other suggestions for you time in Da Nang include a short bike trip down to the ancient town of Hoi An as well as up to Ba Na Hills to see the hand bridge. Be willing to pay up to 700 000VND ($32) on entrance in to the Sunworld theme park, which includes a gondola ride up the mountain.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below and we'll get back to you. If you have no questions, still leave a comment just to say hello:)
We look forward to seeing you in the next video!

What to do in Da Nang? Well, Da Nang is one of the my favorite cities in Vietnam. I returned again and finally got a chance to travel and eat some of Central Vietnam's best food including My Quang and Heo Cuon. My hotel was near My Khe Beach, and went to Linh Ung Pagoda, the former US airbase at Monkey Mountain, a Marble Mountain with its cool elevator into the sky, as well as Hell Cave nearby.

What to EAT in HOI AN and DA NANG? Vietnam travel Vlog
On our first full day staying in Hoi An, we quickly explored the city of Da Nang which included the famous Marble Mountains. This was followed by a quick visit to My Khe Beach and an absolutely amazing lunch at Banh Xeo Ba Duong - Arguably the very BEST banh xeo we've ever had.
We also paid a visit to the UNESCO Heritage site - My Son Sanctuary. To cap off our day, we stayed in Hoi An Old Town for the beautiful display of lanterns and tried one of the Hoi Ans special dishes - Cao Lau.

Tips for vietnam (Danang & Hoi An)
1. for currency exchange, use $100 to exchange because they have a bigger value.
2. any watts work with Vietnam; if you live in the US, or Korea, both plugs will work.
3. when taking a taxi, do not take random ones that look like Uber. Take taxis with numbers on it
4. if you are staying in a hotel or a resort, and you want to grab a taxi, please tell the front desk so they can arrange the ride for you. otherwise, weird taxi drivers will take advantage of you.
5. When you arrive at vietnam (DAD airport), buy a sim card. You will get unlimited data for only $7! (1 week)
6. people here are quite nice. when buying products are the market, negotiate with them!
7. Traffic system is bad in Vietnam. Please watch out for motorcycles and cars! they do not have traffic lights so you will hear lots of beeping.
8. because there are many motorcyclists, it’s easy to get your bags snatched so always watch out!
9. Do not wear sneakers. although sneakers can be comfortable, it is hot in vietnam and birkenstocks will be the best shoes to wear around.
10. WATER IS NOT FREE. At the restaurant, if you ask for water, they will charge you!!
11. majority places will only take CASH.
Our Vietnam plan
Day 1
- Arrival

- Bana hill (did not get to go. Bana Hill is 1 hour away so we did not have time)
