2011 American Indian Festival
The Mid-American All-Indian Center celebrated its first-ever American Indian Festival July 9-10, 2011, that showcased the art, song, dance, history and culture of the very people for which Wichita and Kansas were named. Activities included a contest powwow, Indian Fine Art Market, youth art show, educational booths and hands-on opportunities for youth and adults. The 2012 American Indian Festival is scheduled for July 14-15 at Century II Expo Hall.
