Canadian Railway Museum - Exporail Railroad Trains - Part 1 - Delson - St-Constant - Quebec - Canada
The Canadian Railway Museum (French: (Le) Musée ferroviaire canadien), operating under the brand name Exporail in both official languages, is a rail transport museum in Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada, on Montreal's south shore.
Established in 1961 by its owner and operator, the Canadian Railroad Historical Association, the museum maintains the largest collection of railway equipment in Canada with over 140 pieces of rolling stock. There are also over 250,000 objects and documents from Canada's railway history in the collection which is maintained in the archives on the property.
The museum operates a heritage streetcar line around the grounds as well as a heritage railway which pulls a small passenger train on a former freight spur to Montée des Bouleaux. The streetcar operates daily during the spring, summer and fall while the railway operates every Sunday during the same period.
The museum underwent a significant expansion during the 2000s when the Angus Exhibit Pavilion opened. Some of the most valuable items were placed in the new pavilion, which became the main exhibition building.
One of the most notable artifacts is former Canadian Pacific locomotive #2850, with a 4-6-4 wheel arrangement, known as a Hudson type. In 1939, this particular locomotive was responsible for pulling the Royal Train carrying King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on the westbound leg of their trip across Canada.

06/25/2017 - Visit to Exporail/Canadian Railway Museum
I visit the Canadian Railway Museum in Saint-Constant, QC on June 25, 2017.
My friend's channel:
Our visit to the Canadian Railway Museum/Exporail in Saint Constant, Quebec on January 3, 2020.
This was the highlight of our trip to Montreal. Visiting Exporail has been on our wish list for many years. When we finally got there on this trip it was just unbelievable. We spent over three hours here, just absorbing ALL of the Canadian rail history that was on display. We realized that doing a video tour on one, single trip would not do this museum justice, Instead, even though the pictures don't even begin to capture the feel of this place, we decided to just share a compilation of photos from our tour. We decided to add in pictures of the display plates in front of most of the rolling stock we were lucky to see. Hopefully it piques your curiosity and drives you to learn more about these amazing pieces of history on display. Just a note - we were still in the holiday season, so you'll see the odd Christmas decorations on some of the trains.
Unfortunately, visiting the Canadian Railway Museum in winter meant that we didn't get the whole tour. Most missed was the tram tour of the units parked outdoors and access to Exporail's storage shed. We still managed to get some photos; but we left only looking forward to another visit in the summer. On the other hand, visiting when we did gave us the chance to take our time and drift through the museum at our own speed.
We can't say this enough: if you are ever in Montreal, you have to visit this museum! Here are the links:

In this video, you can see the entire Exporail indoor park. We visited the tramway section first. I filmed a little bit, so that you can see what it looks like inside those. After, that was the only steam locomotive available to visit, so I got in and I took out my camera. Then, we visited a Mail Coach and an Intercolonial Coach car. I also filmed the toilets of those coaches to show you how small it was... :P After that, we jumped on a C.N.R Cupola Caboose. My favorite part of this museum was of course the section where we could visit a famous ALCO FA1 interior. I liked it. I tried to switch a railroad point and open a coupler too. The C.N.R Rotary Snow Plow was open in one side, so that I could enter in it. That impressed me too. At the end, we asked to do a little ride with the functionnal Tramway in the Exporail Yard. They accepted and we visited the entire yard. That was amazing, and even if you don't like trains as much as I like those, you'll have fun for sure! If you want to see my photos of this museum, keep watching on this adress Flickr.com/NBEC69. My photos will appear soon. Thanks For Watching Guys!
