Taiwan Vlog ⎮ One of the BEST XIAO LONG BAO! (Elephant Mountain and Hangzhou Restaurant)
Finally tried one of the best xiao long bao in Taiwan that you can only find in Hangzhou Restaurant in Taipei. I super love the taste and the delicious broth inside, notwithstanding that the price is cheaper compared to Din Tai Fung. Aside from the xiao long bao, there are other delicious foods you can order for a very affordable price. The place is really nice and clean and the servers are very polite.
We also went to the Elephant Mountain to have a glimpse of the Taipei 101 because we don't have much time to visit it. It was a short hike, though I got really tired from it (it's my first time.haha.), but when you get on the end of the short trail, you will really be amazed on the view. :)

Hangzhou's Residence of Hu Xueyan
This was an absolutely amazing site! It was not located on my itinerary and cannot be found in guidebooks. I don't know why. My guide knew about it because she lived around the corner from it and used to do her homework there. It is an ancient mansion with several large gardens still filled with furnishings and antiques. Because it is not well known, it is very quiet with few visitors. The site is very large and quite impressive. The mansion was built during the Qing Dynasty by Hangzhou's richest resident. The house is in an amazing state of preservation. It is still filled with the original owner's furnishing. The compound has four large and beautifully crafted gardens, each with its own flavor. I loved this place! Its state of preservation is astounding! It feels like the owner's out for the day and you have sneaked into his home. There are small rockeries and gardens hidden everywhere and the building's are gorgeously decorated. Each room of the house is filled with furniture. It's not like most old mansions, this house is filled with furnishings and has little items like glasses sitting on tables and dishes piled up in the kitchen. It makes the mansion's atmosphere seem somehow more real and not touristy. The gardens are exquisite and gorgeously designed. I can't say enough about this place. You gotta check it out if you are in Hangzhou! It is simply awesome!

2018 China: Pingyao Shuanglin Temple
Located in the Qiaotou Village about six kilometers (four miles) to Pingyao Ancient City, the Shuanglin Temple is reputed to be the 'ancient painted sculptures museum'. It houses more than 2,000 colorful sculptures reflecting the exquisite skills of the artisans of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1997, it was included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO as an important cultural site of Ping Yao City in 1997.
Originally, Shuanglin Temple was called the Zhongdu Temple but it was renamed Shuanglin during the Song Dynasty (960-1127). In Chinese, Shuang means two or double, and Lin, forest. The temple got its name from a Buddhist story. According to the Buddhist sutra, Sakyamuni who was the founder of Buddhism, entered nirvana under two trees; Hence, its name Shuanglin.
Reconstructed in 571, the Shuanglin Temple has a history of about 1,400 years. It consists of ten large and small halls, and the sutra chanting hall and the monks' rooms. The ten halls include the Heavenly Kings' Hall, the Arhats' Hall, the Mahavira Hall (Da Xiong Bao Dian), and the One-Thousand Buddha Hall, the Sakyamuni Hall, the Bodhisattva Hall, the Ti-tsang Bodhisattva Hall, the Guan Yu's Hall and two other halls. Guan Yu was a famous general of Shu during the Period of Three Kingdoms. Later, he would be worshipped as a god.

Fu tea, an ancient art
This Chinese workshop is preserving the traditional way of making Fu tea bricks. It was the most common form of tea traded along the ancient Silk Road, as the pressing preserved the leaves for the long journey.
