ENGLISH:
Brenton on Sea is situated on the scenic Garden Route coastline and nestles between the Indian Ocean and the hills of the Western Head of Knysna's Estuary, a 16 km drive from Knysna
in Eden District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
Northward and Westward are the Outeniqua Mountains rising behind Knysna and the Lagoon providing a majestic and distant backdrop Southward the Indian Ocean stretches uninterrupted towards the Antarctic. Westward, the sweep of Brentons 4km sandy beach touches Buffels Bay, but the view draws
one on, past Mossel Bay, to the lights of Gouritsmond, in some 130kms distance. It is a breathtaking holiday location and a nature lover's paradise with its unspoilt beaches and peaceful surroundings. Brenton is the ideal backdrop to relax on the beach with beautiful views and dramatic sunsets.
Named after Sir Jahleel Brenton, who declared Knysna a harbour in 1818, the area is home to the endangered Brenton Blue butterfly
The new Hotel Brenton Haven was opened in Dezember 2014 and offers beautiful beachfront accommodation as Beach Homes or Luxury Suites. Many have fallen in love with this little sleepy hollow suburb of Knysna and some even describe it has having “Champagne air”. Brenton Haven is perched on a dune above the main beach, with spectacular 180 degree ocean view, which provides guests with the perfect opportunity to see hundreds of dolphins passing, or whales playing in the waves.
Escape to South Africa’s haven of nature, Brenton on Sea in Knysna, where you will experience the best of the world-renowned Garden Route.
Knysna is famous for its abundance of nature experiences on offer, come and spot your first Loerie, or walk with an elephant. There’s so much to do in this busy little coastal town. It
combines the historical with the modern, the energetic with the restful and the vibrant with the tranquil. Enjoy fine art, brilliant shopping and excellent restaurants. Indulge in Knysna’s most
famous export, fresh oysters grown right here in the Knysna estuary. Explore our forests and dive into outdoor adventures like horse riding, treetop canopy swinging, hiking, golf, yachting,
fishing, and canoeing. For a pure adrenalin rush get into the more extreme sports of abseiling, paragliding, scuba diving or water skiing and some of the best mountain bike routes in the
country.

EP41 | Knysna Wooden boat yard | Sailing Pluto
The Wooden Boat Yard in Knysna is a feast for the eyes if you love sailing, wooden vessels, history, and renovations. Dudley Isaac invited us to visit his shed and meet Al Maleka, a sailboat and gift from the British people to the Sultan of Zanzibar. This daysailer has had a rather interesting life and was found on the Vaaldam, rotten and looking for some much needed TLC.
The boatyard is filled with all sorts of boats and sailing paraphernalia, like outboard motors from the 70's, wooden masts, rudders, Indian cold pressed canoes in the making, old school sailing photos, an Uffa Fox Sailing Canoe and many more.
Thanks for sharing and showing us your space, Dudley.

Cycle Touring South Africa Garden Route , Chautauqua ( A Cycle Pilgrimage )
This episode of Just One Step is called Chautauqua.
Which is a term from a book ive read a few times called
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance
In Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The narrator refers to his philosophical discourse as a 'Chautauqua', referring to the traveling events organized around the U.S. a century ago. ... Radio and television would take their place, but for a period of time this was a peak experience in rural America.
This was my first trip ever , a total distance of 130km through the
Garden route in my home country South Africa.
I traveled light as I had friends I would visit and sleep the night.
The whole journey Is a build up and learning experience for me as my dream one day is to travel back to India and cycle a road called the Leh - Manali Highway.
So each step I take is a step closer to that dream.
I thinned my camera gear down to :
FujiFIlm XT30 - Rokinon 8mm Fish Eye
Insta360 One X
GoPro Hero 7
DJI Mavic Pro
H1 Zoom SOund recorder.
It was a great adventure and I hope you will like my tale.
Keep reaching towards a life you love to live.
SOUTH AFRICA'S HIDDEN GEM

Delfiiniuinti Kizimkazissa ???? VLOG 15 | Kizimkazi - Zanzibar - Africa
Ennen auringonnousua herääminen kannattaa, etenkin silloin kun palkinto on näin suuri. Meitä ilahdutti, jännitti ja pelotti samaan aikaan, emmekä meinanneet uskoa silmiämme!
VILLIDELFIINEJÄ!
Kizimkazin kylä on tunnettu suloisista delfiineistään.

Knysna loses Blue Flag beach status
Why did Knysna lose it's two Blue Flag beaches? The short video in this post is one possible reason. It cannot be looked at alone.
Why did the Knysna Municipality, who was warned of the possible removal weeks before, not act? Why, when the flags were taken down, did they not explain to the public what had happened?
Instead, the Knysna-Plett Herald published an unaccredited article that explained nothing - was there an ulterior motive for an article without questions or facts? Why, when i questioned such, did DA Councillor Dr. Martin Young and some of his supporters (Rosemary Montgomery, Martin Hatchuel) attempt to discredit me, a personal attack that had nothing to do with the topic?
It's possible that there is more to this story than government incompetence.
