- ein filmischer Rundgang im Fabergé Museum in Baden-Baden anläßlich dem einjährigen Bestehen. Sämtliche Aufnahmen wurden mit der Canon 5D Mark II vom Stativ oder aus der Hand gefilmt. Für die Aufnahmen wurde kein RIG verwendet, daher sind die Zooms nicht immer ganz sauber. Bemerkswert ist die Bildqualität bei bis zu 3200 ASA und meist ganz offener Blende. Die Exponate werden in geschlossenen Räumen bei minimaler Beleuchtung präsentiert. Für den Besucher und das menschliche Auge ist das kein Problem - für Filmaufnahmen hingegen ein Alptraum aus Mischlicht und Unterbelichtung, den die Canon aber hervorragend meistert. Demnächst wird ein Vergleichsfilm mit der Canon XH G1 und den gleichen Einstellungen online gestellt.

Walk along the river Oos or in the hills and forests around the town. The tourist office at the Trinkhalle can sell you a booklet of walks based on bus routes. The walking is generally easy, but for maximum reward for minimum effort, take bus 204/205 to the Merkur Bergbahn funicular railway, ride up to the cafe at the top, and walk back via the old castle (Altes Schloss).

The Fabergé Museum in Saint Petersburg houses over 1000 pieces created by the renowned Russian jeweller. Amongst the collection are nine of the famous Imperial Easter Eggs.

Faberge eggs and wartime designs on display near Moscow

Masterpieces from the Russian jeweller Carl Faberge, famous for Faberge eggs, are on display near Moscow.
Among the 400 artworks are some that have never been seen by the public before.
STORYLINE:
Russian artist Carl Faberge is famous for the be-jewelled eggs he made for the Romanov imperial family in the early 1900s.
He was the owner of the largest jewelry company in Russia at the time.
Now some of his most famous works are being exhibited at the New Jerusalem Museum, northwest of Moscow
The display includes an egg designed for the 10th wedding anniversary of Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna in 1904. It's made of gold, diamonds, coloured enamel, velvet and ivory.
Also on show, the Imperial Blue Tsarevich's Constellation egg, made in 1917, of gold, diamonds, rock crystal, glass and jade.
Arina Gundrova, from the New Jerusalem museum says it's a rare treasure.
This egg is legendary, (called) Tsarevich's Constellation, which was made with a stunning design and a wonderful idea. The constellation which was in the sky at the time of the Tsarevich's (Alexei, the son of Nicholas II) birth, is depicted on this egg.
Some of the exhibits have a fascinating history.
Arina Gundrova from the musuem says Faberge had to change with the times.
This (the Easter egg) is the last egg which was made for the Imperial (Romanov) family. The egg is unique because it is very simple. It is made of Karelian birch, and Karelian birch only grows in one place on earth, in Karelia. It was made very simply as there were hard times (the Revolution) in the country already.
Faberge eggs are now worth millions. In 2007, one was sold for a record 18.5 million US dollars.
Vasily Kuznetsov, general manager of the New Jerusalem museum is aware of the risks of mounting a display of this kind.
We understand what kind of things we put on display, and of course the security is high-level: alarm system, special glass, extra guards. Everything that happens in the showroom is under surveillance, he says.
The Faberge company also created household items, including snuff boxes, sweet containers, cigar cases, and silverware such as cutlery, vases, bowls and cups.
Its clientele consisted of royal families from the UK, Germany, Italy, and Sweden and rich families such as the Rothschilds.
Today, Faberge products are demanded by collectors.
The exhibition gathered the items from other Russian and foreign museums; including the Faberge Museum in Baden-Baden, Germany, the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the State Historical Museum in Moscow.
As well as jewelry and accessories, items that marked key milestones in history are also on display.
Daria Milovanova, deputy general manager of the New Jerusalem museum says Faberge often had to work with whatever was available.
The workshops of (Carl) Faberge were reassigned for (First World) War purposes. (Carl) Faberge started producing products which were directly relevant and used on the front line. That's things for field canteens, and ordnance which was modified as lamps.
They're a surprise for visitors to the exhibition.

(My) impressions are amazing. (I) liked everything. (We) had known (Carl) Faberge only because of Easter eggs and now have seen other works. Very impressive.
The exhibition runs until March 24. 2019

The Museum Frieder Burda is an art museum in Baden-Baden , built to a design by the architect Richard Meier and opened in October 2004. The private collector's museum adjoins the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden in the Lichtentaler Allee . In addition to works of classical modernism and contemporary art from the collection of the builder Frieder Burda regularly special exhibitions are shown.
The American architect Richard Meier has designed a bright, open building with two large halls, two cabinets and a basement. The three floors are accessed via walk-in ramps as in older Meier buildings. The construction of the Staatliche Kunsthalle by Hermann Billing , whose sequence of smaller and larger rooms is still considered a particularly successful example of well-proportioned and functional museum architecture, is 100 years older than the museum is connected by a glass bridge; The content of the bridge is also part of the program: there are joint exhibitions that cover both museums.
The new building with around 1000 square meters of exhibition space cost around 15 million euros and was fully supported by the Frieder Burda Foundation. For the two-year construction, no public funds were used. The museum was built by the Baden-Baden architect Peter W. Kruse.
The Frieder Burda Collection includes about 1,000 works by modern and contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, objects and works on paper. The focus is on: German Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, German painting from 1960, Picasso, painting from 1990. At the museum's opening, the collection was to be seen for the first time in its main focuses. Around 150 of a total of 550 artworks at that time included the opening exhibition in the new building and the adjoining Staatlichen Kunsthalle Baden-Baden. Founding director was from 2004 to 2006, the Karlsruhe art historian Klaus Gallwitz .

Baden-Baden boomt. Der Gewerbepark Oos-West bietet auf einer Fläche von knapp fünfzig Fußballfeldern neuen Raum für Unternehmen. Noch vor wenigen Jahren war hier ein Flugplatz. Inzwischen sind zwei Drittel der Fläche erschlossen. Bis heute konnte bereits ein Drittel der Fläche vermarktet werden.
Wir treffen die beiden Chefgewerbevermarkter auf dem Dach der Firma IPETRONIK. Dieses ur-Badener Unternehmen gehört nicht zu den Kernbranchen Baden-Badens wie Kosmetik, Pharma oder Wellness, und das ist beabsichtigt, weiß Markus M. Börsig. Die Nachfrage nach Gewerbeflächen ist gut. Hier in Oos werden alle Bewerber mitsamt ihren Unternehmenskonzepten im Vorfeld durchleuchtet damit wir sichergehen können, dass es dazu passt! verrät uns Alexander Wieland, ebenfalls Geschäftsführer der noch jungen Baden-Badener Gewerbe-Entwicklung.
Trotz der seit etwa zehn Jahren stabilen Grundstückspreise spüren die Baden-Badener gerade jetzt eine wachsende Nachfrage am Standort.
