About
CANDOLIM BEACH
Everything You Need to Know About Candolim Beach
QUICK FACTS ABOUT CANDOLIM
Candolim Beach begins at Fort Aguada and ends at Calangute Beach, making it one of the longest beaches in the state. It spans a length of 30 kilometers.
There has been a bulk carrier ship, The River Princess, stuck at the shores of Candolim since 2000. The government has claimed that they will restore it, but it hasn’t moved yet and it has become a popular tourist attraction.
A great place to shop for clothing and souvenirs is FabIndia. You will find clothing, jewellery, home furnishings and beautiful high end gifts.
The entire area is quite small — you can easily get around it on foot.
The nearest railway station is at Thivim and you can take a taxi from there, which will take around 30 minutes.
Candolim is known as the birthplace of Abbe Faria, who is thought to be one of the famous Freedom Fighters and the Father of Hypnotism.
This area is very popular with tourists from the UK, although it is visited by people from all over the world.
If you need a haircut or spa treatments during your visit, Candolim is home to the Snip Spa Salon.
Fort Aguada was constructed by the Portuguese in 1612, as a protection against the invasions from the Dutch and the Marathas.
BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO VISIT
The best time to plan your trip to Candolim Beach is from November to March. The weather will be comfortable and cool and there will be very little chance of rain. Also, December is a great time of year to visit as there will be many festivals happening in Goa. However, this is the peak season so you will need to book your hotels in advance and they will be more expensive than during the rest of the year.
If you would rather have a more low-key experience of Candolim, consider visiting during February and March. This is when the beaches will be free of tourists and you will be able to find a cheaper rate on hotel rooms. October can also be a great time to visit Goa — it will be vivid and green after the monsoons and it will still be mostly free from crowds.
WEATHER
The best time for beach holidays in Candolim is from October till February, but, however, the quite welcoming environment is kept here even till the end of March. It is worth mentioning that starting from the end of March and finishing at the beginning of June the Candolim Beach falls under the powers of the period of drought, and the temperature during this time reaches +35°C. Usually the summer temperature is about +24°C - +30°C in average, and +21°C - +29°C during the winter. It is recommended to take some summer-type clothing when going to Goa but if you are planning to travel to Candolim somewhere in December-January it is worth taking some warm clothes with you too.

We went on a holiday to goa! This is what I wore on my beach Holiday to Goa
A surprise trip meant, an impromptu shopping spree!
I am not really plus size, and not really 'normal' size, I am someone in between! I wear a size 18 or 16 , XL or XXL depending upon the brand!
This is what I wore on the beach and in the city !
Outfit 1 : My Birthday! I wore this wrap around dress from Marks and Spencer , it was actually M&S Maternity size 14, but it fit me really well, lol.
I wore it with a Marks and Spencer body shaper underneath.
Outfit 2: I had this long transparent shirt from AND since forever, and I could never figure out how to team it, specially in a place like Delhi it always felt out of place, fit perfectly as a lounge / beach wear in Goa though. I teamed it up with a shift dress from Marks and Spencers.
Outfit 3 : Is basically just the shift dress and Soul Sling SSC carrier, lol. My husband was worried that the long dress will get too wet at the beach, so I took it off after breakfast....although I love the feel of long dresses at beaches! Next time I won't listen to him :P
Outfit 4 : I have also had this shrug since forever and somehow could never style it perfectly with anything, I finally made it into a 'set' with the white sleeveless slip, its really just a slip I got along with a top from Sassy Soda . Also wearing Sassy Soda Jeans.
The key necklace was a gift from my ex-boss, its a Tranoi key.
Outfit 5 : While on the streets of Goa we changed our plans to go to the beach instead of the fort, so I quickly brought this shades of blue dress off the street and changed in the shop itself, lol.
Outfit 6 : The day was going to be all about sight seeing, going to a church and mandir, etc, so I wore a comfortable kurta and pants from Fab India
Outfit 7 : We were travelling back that day and I prefer comfy wear while travelling, I wore a black and white top from Chique, a little boutique shop in Delhi, and my Sassy Soda jeans.
I didn't realise I had so many outfit change in 4days, lol...there were 3 more outfits but I don't have pictures of them, maybe you will catch them in my Goa Vlog, coming up on Monday :)

Smriti Irani Spots Camera Recording Her While Changing Clothes In Goa
This is ridiculous! In an extremely outrageous incident, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani on Friday spotted a camera near a trial room of a well-known apparel showroom in Goa.
Wah…really? Yes…the minister was shopping at Fabindia store in Candolim when she noticed the camera near the trial room. The camera was installed in a way that it focused on the trial room.
Irani then alerted her husband and called BJP Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, who stays in the vicinity of the clothing boutique.
Lobo arrived at the showroom with police and later filed a complaint in this regard. Now, this isn't the first time that a camera has been spotted inside a changing room.
While this plague of leaked MMS' seemed to have stopped in recent years, it seems to be back again to haunt people. Tch Tch!
