Schindler elevators at Manhattan Mall in NYC
Apparently there has been a major renovation at Manhattan Mall. When I last visited there were 4 glass Otis elevators, 2 on each side of the mall. But when I visited to film, it turned out that the Otis elevators have been replaced with 3 Schindler on one side of the mall and the hafts on the other side have been removed all together. I believe the highest floor in the building is 11 but the public only has access to C2, C1, *L and 2.

Pine State Hydraulic Elevator at the Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook, Maine
This is quite an old building. I'm pretty sure on the front of the building it said 1811 but I am not 100% sure. And in the beginning of the video I pressed up then went down. And also in the beginning, I pressed old buttons. Those were the buttons for the elevator previous. I never saw it but it must have been cool.
Enjoy!!

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
New Haven is a coastal city in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It is located on New Haven Harbor on the northern shore of Long Island Sound in New Haven County, Connecticut, and is part of the New York metropolitan area. With a population of 129,779 as determined by the 2010 United States Census, it is the second-largest city in Connecticut after Bridgeport. New Haven is the principal municipality of Greater New Haven, which had a total population of 862,477 in 2010.New Haven was the first planned city in America. Founded in 1638 by English Puritans, a year later eight streets were laid out in a four-by-four grid, creating what is commonly known as the Nine Square Plan. The central common block is the New Haven Green, a 16-acre (6 ha) square, and the center of Downtown New Haven. The Green is now a National Historic Landmark and the Nine Square Plan is recognized by the American Planning Association as a National Planning Landmark.New Haven is the home of Yale University. As New Haven's biggest taxpayer and employer, Yale serves as an integral part of the city's economy. Health care (hospitals and biotechnology), professional services (legal, architectural, marketing, and engineering), financial services, and retail trade also contribute to the city's economic activity.
The city served as co-capital of Connecticut from 1701 until 1873, when sole governance was transferred to the more centrally located city of Hartford. New Haven has since billed itself as the Cultural Capital of Connecticut for its supply of established theaters, museums, and music venues. New Haven had the first public tree planting program in America, producing a canopy of mature trees (including some large elms) that gave New Haven the nickname The Elm City.
Awesome Vintage 1950's Bay State (Dover) Oildraulic Elevator-Wilson's Greenfield Ma
Although filming this elevator is starting to get old, riding it does not.
This store recently celebrated their 125th anniversary back in May. Pretty amazing, if you ask me. It originally opened in 1882 (the original section was towards main street), and just kept growing throughout the years. This part here, was originally a separate building, but eventually joined together with the front building. This must have been a completely separate elevator at one point in time.
Essentially, the place has remained unchanged from the 1950's (with some modern sprinkles here and there). Completely authentic, if you ask me!
Here's a Wikipedia article about the store:
The elevator also runs AWESOME! Note the older variant of GAL (rounded arrows), no physical black ring around the button, like on the newer GAL buttons. Rather, it's printed on (at least for the call buttons, not the internal fixtures). Bay State was a distributor for Dover. It makes sense this is a Dover, considering they used GAL products when they were starting out installing hydro's.
