The Fairy Cave of Bau Kuching, Sarawak
Fairy Cave (also known as Gua Pari) is an impressive show cave near the former gold mining settlement of Bau and about 40km from Kuching, Sarawak. The cave is open from 8.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Fairy Cave takes its name from a stalagmite structure at the entrance that is said to resemble a Chinese deity.
Inside, you will notice the great contrasts between the light entering the cave and its shadowy darkness, along with hues of brown and grey of the rocks – highlighted by the rich green of the moss – which offer many opportunities for the avid photographer.

I have mixed feeling about this cave. It is beautiful but, creepy at the same time. The opening or the large chamber of the cave is fine, but the dark part of the cave, I found leftover ritual materials. I almost step on one of it and some are not recorded here for my camera suddenly did not record. I was sick for three days after recording this video. Coincidence or there is something spooky about this cave. Anyway, it was another amazing God creation.

Fairy Cave and Wind Cave near Bau - Day 6 | HD |
To see the photos and read the article about our visit in Fairy Cave and Wind Caves go to:
On the second day in Kuching we took a ride by bus to the small city called Bau. We had a lunch there and then we started looking for a ride to Fairy cave. It was quite troublesome but after some time we found a guy who took us to the Fairy cave. The Cave was awesome. There was a big passage with a view outside of the cave. The sun was filling the cave with light but there were some parts where we needed flashlights. When we got to the other side of the fairy cave I quickly took a look around the jungle. The sweat was pouring from me after a short while. From Fairy cave we went to the Wind caves. There were 3 smaller caves full of bats. The bats were making lots of noise. After visit of these two caves we got back to Bau and went back to Kuching by bus which was driven by crazy bus driver who likes to ride without hands ;)

Back in Kuching - Day 6 | HD |
To see the photos and read the article about what we were doing back in Kuching go to:
We got back from fairy cave and wind caves near Bau. The driver who likes to ride without hands was driving once again. Luckily we made it back into Kuching in one piece. We went to check one of the chinese temples near our hostel. It was pretty well decorated inside the temple. Then we went by boat to the other side of Kuching where we bought lunch in big buffet. I had pretty weird omelette filled with rice and topped with weird dressings. As a sweet dot we had a lots of super sweet cakes because there were free samples in one of the shop with sweets in Kuching. We also saw one mosque. Then we went back to the hostel and to bed because we need to be rested for tomorrow when we are going to see borneo arangutans in semenggoh wildlife centre!

FAIRY CAVE Sarawak Malaysia
An April 2013 video of the Fairy Cave near the town of Bau in Sarawak Malaysia, Borneo.
Ben Fogle's Sarawak Adventures - Cave to Car Park Cuisine
In this four minute video we follow the intrepid British celebrity and adventurer Ben Fogle into the Fairy Caves where he is wowed by the vastness and age of the caves. He meets Rambli Ahmed, a biologist for the Sarawak Forestry who informed him that the rock was formed during the Jurassic period and the caves are three million years old!
From there, we are taken back into Kuching and onto the 6th floor of a car park where unexpectedly, there is one of the best local restaurants in Sarawak called Top Spot serving fresh local seafood and vegetables. Ben meets Mr Jong, a restaurant owner who cooks him a delicious stir fry to eat after his busy day at the caves.

Arrival to Kuching Malaysia on Borneo - Day 5 | HD |
To see the photos and read the article about our arrival to Kuching Malaysia go to:
After getting a bit lost in the singapore subway we finally got to the singapore changi airport where we took off in a plane heading to Kuching Malaysia on Borneo where we wanted to spend the rest of our vacation. We had a lot of things to do in Kuching like visiting Fairy cave and Wind caves near Bau and we also wanted to see borneo orangutans in semenggoh wildlife centre. The flight was without problems, which cannot be said about our taxi ride to the bori ottok hostel. The driver wa unable to find the hostel so he had to ask around about 3 times before one of our friends finally noticed the bori ottok hostel in Kuching china town. If he wouldn´t notice it I think we would be absolutely lost in the Kuching city at night. After leaving our backpacks in the nice hostel we went for a quick walk by the river which flows through the Kuching. We also heard one local band playing on their instruments there. I like Kuching much more campared to Singapore.
