Roadtrip to Fernie, BC
While in Canada, we took a car trip from Calgary to Fernie, stopping at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site and Frank Slide on the way there, and Lundbreck Falls and Peter Lougheed Provincial Park on the way back. While in Fernie we went hiking at Island Lake, Kikomun Creek Provincial Park and Fairy Creek Falls.

CAMPING AROUND CANADA [6] [SARA&NIL]
This was our second camping experience here in Canada, but our first experience camping alone. There was a fire in Waterton a little time before we got there so check conditions before going there if hikes are open to public. We could only visit the lake as everything was closed due to hazards following wildfire activity (risk of avalanches).
In the National Parks we also learnt that you are not allowed to feed wildlife, being charged as much as 25.000 dollars if you do it. No campfires allowed in not designed areas and very important, no camping at not designed areas!!! We almost got a ticket from a Park Guard but were lucky because she told us that if we bought the Pass for the park we would be safe. So that’s what we did! Another rule and/or tip: if you will be going to any Canada’s National Parks, get the annual Pass, which will allow you to go in any Canada national park and visit all the nice spots. Hope you enjoy the video!

Stop and park at the Fernie Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Information Centre located at 102 Commerce Road on Highway #3 to the east of town. The trailhead is marked with a large sign in the parking lot.
Be aware that this is wildlife country. Please respect the environment and leave no trace of your visit, pack out any garbage. Be safe during the spring season as creek water levels can be high.
