Places to see in ( Castellammare del Golfo - Italy ) Spiaggia Guidaloca
Castellammare del Golfo is a small and charming Sicilian town, located in the province of Trapani, in a stretch of coast where the high cliffs are interspersed with sandy beaches and intimate coves. It owes its name to the beautiful castle that rises almost to the sea, a strategic point from where in the past centuries the waters were scrutinized to prevent possible enemy attacks.
Two of the most famous beaches of Castellammare del Golfo are Scopello and Guidaloca, easily reachable from the city center by public transport or in 5 minutes by car. The lido di Scopello is located near the Zingaro Nature Reserve, a natural place of great value and rare beauty. The beach of Scopello is truly fabulous and the seabed is particularly rich in flora and fauna making it an exceptional destination for all diving lovers.
A short distance from Scopello you can reach the small bay of Guidaloca , formed by a pebble beach about 400 meters long ending on the west side with a tower dating back to the sixteenth century, ancient lookout point. The waters in this stretch of coast are of an intense blue and a truly unique transparency and the various caves that dot the high and rocky coastline make the coast fascinating and mysterious.
For nature lovers and pristine coves it is advisable to move to the Zingaro Reserve, where the wild nature and the beautiful waters will give you authentic moments of relaxation, a real paradise on earth. In short, all the beaches of Castellammare del Golfo and the surrounding area are excellent places to spend a pleasant holiday.

Places to see in ( Castellammare del Golfo - Italy ) Castellamare del Golfo Beach
Places to see in ( Castellammare del Golfo - Italy ) Castellamare del Golfo Beach
A long time ago, the charming Castellammare del Golfo on the Golfo di Castellammare, used to be the port for the towns of Erice and Segesta. Later it became an Arab fortress. The port – which is dominated by the castello – is the biggest attraction of the town: in the early morning you see the fishermen go out to sea in their typical white-blue fishing boats, to later return with delicious fresh fish. From the harbor you can go on organized boat trips, but you can also rent your own boat if you want to explore the Golfo di Castellammare on your own.
Sitting on a terrace overlooking the harbor, you can enjoy a cocktail, Sicilian wine, home made ice-cream or a refreshing Sicilian granita. In the summer period Castellammare’s harbor comes to life at night and the area becomes a pedestrian zone, with lots of bars, pubs and restaurants.
The corso is a nice area for shopping and from the town square you have access to the smallest of the two sandy beaches. The other, much larger, beach is located just outside of Castellammare del Golfo. In the summer period there are several lidos, where you can rent sun loungers and beach umbrellas, but the main part of Castellammare’s sandy beach is free of charge.
Castellammare del Golfo is also an excellent starting point for visiting all places of interest in the area. You can easily reach the famous nature reserve Lo Zingaro (10-15 minutes by car), and the small town of Scopello, with the famous tonnara, where we organize scuba diving activities and boat trips. Other locations well worth a visit are the medieval town of Erice, the temple and amphitheater of Segesta, the archeological park in Selinunte, the salt pans (saline) near Marsala, the cathedral of Monreale, the city of Palermo and many more

Mt. Faito by cable car (HD)
This is my favorite kind of mountain - the kind where you can get to the top without climbing. The views are almost entirely from the cable car, which gets you to the top of this mountain overlooking Castellammare di Stabia and the Bay of Naples.
Originally, I'd only planned to take the cable car that day. But the view made me curious about the town - particularly the exceptional beachfront which seemed neglected and underused.
I've learned much more since then. To protest the possible closing of the town shipyard, three laid off shipyard workers decided, on their own to fix up the beach. I saw their protest sign while shooting this video: and they have a Facebook page here:
