St. Columb's Park - Area 2 of 3 - Derry - Northern Ireland
There are different parks in Northern Ireland and every single one of them carries its different characteristics that differ it from all the others. One of those different parks is St. Columb's that is located in Derry-Londonderry (
There is a history behind St. Columb's Park which started back in 1845 when the Hill Estate was bought by the Londonderry Corporation for use as a public park. The park is now a public place that allows all the people to go through and enjoy a walk or a sit there and see the Hill House which is found inside and which is still there and is known as St. Columb's Park House which aims at being located in the middle of the park and which was previously used as a Nurse's Home for a period of time.
There are several things that one could do in this park, it could be walking around, relaxing a little bit and enjoying the beauty of nature with the River Foyle which is moving through the park. There are different facilities found in this park, such as the Foyle Arena which is located just beside the entrance and which is a leisure and events facility. There is also the Far and Wild which is a leading outdoor adventure company, the Maiden City Soccer which is a local cross community football development organisation and the Columba Heritage Trail.
We have also been to two different other areas and locations in St. Columb's Park to bring other 360 degree video experiences and which are ( and (

There are different events and programmes which might take place in the park, so if you want to attend any of these events then you should check what they have to offer before heading there - these events might differ according to the time of the year and the season and they are really interesting to attend any of them - so try not to miss the chance.

Wild Fish in Wild Places - Babine River Steelhead
It's August 2018 and I'm sitting at the dinner table with two great guys in the Frontier Far West Lodge outside of Smithers BC. Conversations struck up and it turns out these two fellas were doing a Heli trip to the Babine River the very day; a truely remote and wild place, famed for big Steelhead! You wanna join us? they asked me, grinning like a couple of kids in a sweetie shop. After about a 5 second think. Of course! and I starting grinning as well! So that's how it went, me, Jeremy and Danny set of first thing next morning for the fabled Babine in search of silver and the Babine did not disappoint!
Here in this video are a few of the fish we caught and some of the fabulous scenes from a truely magnificent Steelhead River. Probably the best Steelhead fishing in the World! Special thanks to Frontier Far West for organising it, to our guide Corwin for putting us all on fish and to Tom Derry for his enthusiasm, knowledge and love and passion of the native fish!

West of Galway ~ Back Home in Derry ~ 2012 Caloosahatchee Celtic Festival
West of Galway performs the Irish protest song Back Home in Derry (i.e. I Wish I Was Back Home In Derry), with a melody most listeners will find very reminescent of the Gordon Lightfoot song Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. This was filmed live at the 2012 Caloosahatchee Celtic Festival in Fort Myers, Florida on Jan 28, 2012.
This performance by West of Galway features Bernie Green with lead vocals and guitar,
Chuck Noonan on guitar with supporting vocals, Stephen Stadler on violin, Alan Norman Plath on concertina, and Linda Macchia-Howe on bodhran with supporting vocals.
More great music by this band can be found at their website at:

========================
Back Home In Derry was written by Robert Gerard Bobby Sands, who was an Irish volunteer of the Provisional Irish Republican Army and member of the British Parliament, who died on hunger strike in 1981 while imprisoned in HM Prison Maze. He was a controversial leader of the 1981 hunger strike in which Irish republican prisoners protested against the removal of Special Category Status. While in prison Sands had several letters and articles published and also wrote the lyrics of Back Home in Derry and McIlhatton, which were both later arranged and recorded by Christy Moore; and he wrote Sad Song For Susan which was later recorded. The melody of Back Home in Derry was borrowed from Gordon Lightfoot's famous 1976 song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The names of the city, county, and district of Derry or Londonderry in Northern Ireland are the subject of a naming dispute between Irish nationalists and unionists. Generally, although not always, nationalists favour using the name Derry, and unionists using Londonderry. Legally, the city and county are called Londonderry, while the local government district is called Derry. The debate became particularly politicised at the outset of the Troubles, with the mention of either name used to associate the speaker with one of Northern Ireland's two main communities.
The statue shown in the end credits looking over Derry-Londonderry is called Hands Across the Divide. As you enter the city across Craigavon Bridge, the first thing you see is the Hands Across the Divide monument. This striking bronze sculpture of two men reaching out to each other symbolises the spirit of reconciliation and hope for the future; it was unveiled in 1992, 20 years after Bloody Sunday.

Van Diemen's Land was the original name used by most Europeans for the island of Tasmania, now part of Australia. In 1803, the island was colonised by the British as a penal colony with the name Van Diemen's Land, and became part of the British colony of New South Wales. In 1856 the colony was granted responsible self-government with its own representative parliament, and the name of the island and colony was changed to Tasmania.

Lyics to Back Home In Derry by Bobby Sands:
1) In 1803 we sailed out to sea
Out from the sweet town of Derry.
For Australia bound if we didn't all drown
And the marks of our letters were heavy
In the rusty iron chains we signed for our wanes
Our women we left there in sorrow
As the main sails unfurled, our cares we hurled
At the English and the thoughts of tomorrow
Refrain: oh....oh, I wish I was back home in Derry.
Oh....oh, I wish I was back home in Derry.
2) At the mouth of the foil, bid farwell to the soil
As down below decks we were lying.
O'Docherty's scream woke him out of a dream
By a vision of bold Robert dying.
The sun burned cruel and they dished out the gruel
Dan O'Connor was down with the fever
Sixty rebels that day bound for botany bay
How many would reach there this evening?
3) I cursed them to hell, as our bow fought the swell
Our ship danced like moths on the firelight
Wild horses rode high as the devil passed by
Taking souls into Hades by twilight
Five weeks out to sea we were now 43
We buried our comrades each morning
And in our own slime, forgotten by time
Endless days without dawning
4) Van Diemens Land is a hell for a man
To live out his life in slavery
Where the climate is raw and the gun makes the law
In the winds of eight care of bravery
Twenty years have gone by and I've emptied my bond
My comrades' ghosts walk beside me
Well a rebel I came and sure I'll die the same
On a cold winters night you will find me.

Northern Ireland's Troubles - Walls of Shame
The modern history of Northern Ireland has been dominated by one thing, 'The Troubles' - a violent, bitter conflict, both political and religious, between those claiming to represent the predominantly Catholic nationalists and those claiming to represent the mainly Protestant unionists.
But what Northern Ireland has now is not so much 'peace' as 'an absence of conflict' after the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998. Far from disappearing, the walls have grown. Instead of reconciliation, there is partition - an ill-tempered stalemate of separate identities and separated lives.
Broadly speaking, the nationalists - also called 'Republicans' - want Northern Ireland to be unified with the Republic of Ireland while the unionists want it to remain part of the United Kingdom, along with England, Wales and Scotland.
This episode of the Walls of Shame series looks at life on both sides of the barriers between the warring communities.
Update: Al Jazeera returned to Belfast, almost a decade after this film first aired in 2007, to touch base with Catholic muralist Danny Devenny. As the walls of separation - or 'protection' as some view the barriers - start to come down, much of Danny and his muralist friends' work is also being destroyed, with calls to 'reimagine' their art.
The government has vowed to destroy the walls but the community is reluctant, scared and not appreciative of attempts to gloss over a difficult past.

Wish I was in England by Christy Moore from Prosperous LYRICS
Dedicated to my wonderful family for all their support and love they have shown me.
Lyrics:
Oh I wish I was in England, in France or even in Spain
Or Wherever dwells my own true love to hold her near again
Oh long time I had been roaming, in country and in town
But never in my wanderings met, a maid with such renown
No never in my wanderings met, a maid with such renown
Until I met my true love on the shores of Knocknashee
Her brown hair in the howling wind, a-blowing wild and free
Her brown hair in the howling wind, a-blowing wild and free
Oh my true love she did promise me some land with rambling kine
And on her ample pasture land to build a mansion fine
And on her ample pasture land to build a mansion fine
But then my love she left me, and she wandered far away
And I've been searching for my love for many's the night and day
Yes I've been searching for my love for many's the night and day
Oh I wish that I was in England, or wherever she may be
That I could go and call my love, and together we would be
That I could go and call my love and together we would be

Two blasts of magnetic plasma left the sun on Sunday, eventually combining and arriving on Earth on Tuesday about 15 hours earlier and much stronger than expected, said Thomas Berger, director of the Space Weather Prediction Centre in Boulder, Colorado.
