Niall Blair, Michael Johnson and Graham Forbes reflect on drought and mental health in NSW dairy
NSW Minister for Agriculture, Niall Blair, visited the Stroud dairy farm of Rod Williams with State Member for the Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen & Dairy Connect Farmers Group President, & local Gloucester Dairy farmer, Graham Forbes today to view first hand the impact of the drought. We applaud the Minister’s continued support of NSW agriculture.
As Michael highlights, continue to be alert to the insidious onset of the ‘black dog’ and offer support to your rural and regional friends & colleagues whenever and wherever you can.
We encourage all affected farmers to visit the DroughtHub website:

Dungog Film Festival Street Parade - 30th June 2012
This was the parade I rode in yesterday up at dungog, i was riding a brumby, supporting brumby protection. I'm on the black horse and robert is in front of me leading his donkey. Usually Robert and Benny lead the parade but not this year we lead it last year and yarramin had a fit last year and backed into the crowd! So they put the band infront instead of behind her. She was a very ery good girl this year, not a single problem. I'm very happy with her progress, even to ride shes much nicer now :) This video was filmed by Lindsay, Thanks for the video & Pictures Linds :)
Enjoy!

Royal Hotel Tumut in NSW by Grasshopper Travel
The Royal Hotel was built in 1854. A man named Henry Moon was responsible, selling his profitable flour mill, which he called ‘Star Flour’ and getting into the Hotel business with his sons. He originally called the hotel “The Rising Moon” and joked that it was run by the Son, Moon and Stars. Since that day there have been plenty more bad jokes told at the Royal, and to this day it remains an excellent choice for a quality feed, cold beer, good laugh or a bad punting tip. Tumut’s Royal Hotel has seen many changes over the last 35 years including the construction of its budget motel separate from the hotel building. The open then closing of a small bottle shop at the rear of the block. The expansion of the retail floor to fit the current restaurant with the most significant change being a major renovation conducted in early 2000s to give the Royal its internal face lift. The Royal boasts 11 ensuited motel style rooms at the rear of the Hotel Block, as well as 8 “Pub” rooms upstairs (shared facilities) for those looking to travel on a tight budget, specializing in short stay accommodation, the Royal has something to suit your needs. The kitchen at the Royal Hotel or as we prefer to call it, “RHT” is open 7 days a week for lunch and 6 days per week for dinner (Mon to Sat), and for breakfast on Sunday mornings from 8.30am, we also have hand made pizzas available late in the evening for those who get peckish. Chef’s Amber Jones and Jess Bevan, along with their team are prepared to cater for patrons and take pride in customer satisfaction. Undoubtedly the youngest team in the district, the team prides themselves on producing quality food every time, with an emphasis on fresh product, don’t be fooled by the age of these young ladies, they are fast becoming known for producing Tumut’s finest food, not just by locals but also by the many visitors to our beautiful town.
