NZ to Gympie and beyond and repairing cyclone damage
A trip from Nelson (New Zealand) to Gympie in Queensland to see my brother George and his wife Heather. This video is the first of two and contains footage of their house and gardens that they are so proud of.
I was taken to Tin Can Bay and saw tremendous scenery and also visited a relatives section in Cooloola cove.
I flew Air New Zealand all the way there and back and found the experience to be first class although I was in cattle class....lol
I did gain permission to video in Farmer & Sun Southside, Gympie and must comment on the great staff they have..... thank you.
All the movie footage taken was on my Sony HDR as300 handy cam and edited using Power Director 16.
Music by Andre Rieu and Enya so sit back and enjoy my view of the trip

Hail Storm Aftermath
Aussie World car park after freak hail storm.
Searys Creek, Rainbow Beach, Qld
Crystal clear running water makes a nice home for the eel and catfish. Just 7 km from Rainbow Beach towards Gympie and Tin Can Bay, you will find a small carpark off the road. Set in ferns and melaleuca woods, take the boardwalk down to the one of the two swimming holes. It was great to see National Parks and Wildlife Service had recently updated the jetties. There is plenty of room for towels and drinks and spectators (it is cold!). Steps down into the water are easy for all ages and run straight into a sandy creek bottom. Stained with tannins from vegetation, the rainwater is tea coloured but transparent. No murky water today – we could see the little fish and big yabbies. A huge tree trunk lies across one end -perfect as another platform for launches across the water.

Ravenshoe - The Highest Town in Queensland Australia
Ravenshoe, pronounced “Ravens -hoe”, is a town located on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland, Australia, some 123 km (76 miles) south west of Cairns. It is known as the highest town in Queensland at an elevation of 930 metres (3,050 ft) above sea level. The towns has the highest pub (hotel) in Queensland “The Ravenshoe Hotel” (up to 2014 was known as the Tully Falls Hotel).
The area was first settled by pastorialists prior to 1881, however, when stands of red cedar trees were found at nearby Cedar Creek, the mining entrepreneur, John Moffat purchased the pastoral properties and the village of Cedar Creek was established.in 1910 Cedar Creek was renamed Ravenshoe. The name is supposed to have been chosen because a copy of Henry Kingsley’s novel “Ravenshoe” (1862) was found nearby. By 1912 the town had a store, a school, the Club Hotel and a population of 1,000.
The main industry, up to 1987, was timber, when the government made 900,000 hectares od surrounding rainforest world heritage listed. The main industries now are tourism, beef and dairy farming.

Found Palace Wall in DESTROYED-STONEHENGE area, inside CRATER! Victoria, Australia!
This is an exclusive. Wall found inside Volcano. Don't expect to read about a vanished Civilisation in Western Victoria anywhere. Archaeologists themselves are on the fence about what to call it and they don't mention the destroyed Stonehenge at Derrinallum.
This was part of a road trip organised with Marie, who runs Expatlife. Check her channel here:
I wished to visit the Lost Civilisation I call `The Land Between the Two Volcanoes' on the western plains of Victoria. According to the below website, there were six stonehenges in this location. Guess what, all are gone!
My articles on this:
Where I found out about the six stonehenges, great website!
If you read William Buckley's Biography, the first white man in Victoria, who lived in this area, you get the impression that the history of the aboriginees in the area is much more comprehensive than we have been led to believe!
Check out also my previous video on this subject, and area!
This civilization grew axes and traded in Eels. They built eel wiers and other means of farming. They even seem to have had a type of perma-culture at the very least. This wall inside the volcano crater cannot be a coincidence. It must be some kind of royal palace of the area. The crater has steep walls which rise up significantly, creating a wonderful echo when you shout.
This location would have afforded perfect security, awing the natives into submission! This kingdom endured until European times. I believe Peruvian Royalty sailed across the Pacific, landing in Gympie, where they built a town, and a pyramid, which was quarried to build the modern town!
Several of these people sailed south to Western Victoria. They discovered grand sweeping lakes and set up their kingdom, mixing with the locals to found an empire which has been unrecorded by history! Or, could this all be just a coincidence?

David Gibson Hopeful On Reviving Mary Valley Towns With Increased Tourism
A Mary Valley conservation group is hoping the new LNP Government will help rebuild the region after Labor's controversial proposal for Traveston Dam. The group said although it's been three years since Labor's plan was scrapped, the Mary Valley is a long way off recovering.
The group hopes the new Government will help entice more tourists back to town and help redevelop the farming industry. LNP Member for Gympie, David Gibson says he wants to help the renewal teams and says bringing farming and families back to the Valley will revive the community.
