Obere Favoritenstraße
Favoriten, benannt nach dem kaiserlichen Lustschloss Favorita, ist bekannt als bevölkerungsreichster Bezirk Wiens mit großer historischer Vergangenheit. Bereits 1910 lebten hier 152.000 Einwohner. Als dann 1975 der Rohbau der U-Bahn abgeschlossen war, schien die Richtung in ein Modernes Wiener Stadtteil perfekt und eine weitere historische Jahreszahl schwebt bereits jetzt schon in den Köpfen vieler Favoritnerinnen und Favoritner. Das Jahr 2005 - die Neugestaltung der Fußgängerzone Favoritenstraße mit der Verlängerung bis zum Südtirolerplatz und die Eröffnung des Columbuscenters mit der Volksgarage am Columbusplatz.

Vienna 4. Bezirk - untere Favoritenstraße
Die Favoritenstraße ist eine bedeutende Geschäfts- und Ausfallstraße im 4. Wiener Gemeindebezirk, Wieden. Die Favoritenstraße war und ist neben Wiedner Hauptstraße die wichtigste Ausfallstraße des 4. Bezirks nach Süden. Während der Weg seit dem Mittelalter über die Wiedner Hauptstraße und die Triester Straße nach Wiener Neustadt und in weiterer Folge nach Italien führt, gelangte man über die Favoritenstraße in südöstlicher Richtung nach Ungarn. Ihr ursprünglicher Name war Wimpassinger Weg (nach dem altungarischen Grenzort Wimpassing an der Leitha auf dem Weg nach Ödenburg), nach der Errichtung des kaiserlichen Lustschlosses Favorita im heutigen 4. Bezirk wurde sie Kaiserweg genannt.
