Santorini Luxury Lifestyle - Feel the Heat of Romance
The island of Santorini is the result of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in history, the Minoan Eruption, and due to its geological history it is one of the only places in Europe to feature a ‘hot desert’ climate. The crater of the volcano is fully submerged underwater and the islands towns are built high up on the rim surrounding it.
This makes for gorgeous views of the volcanic caldera, particularly from the luxurious sites of Imerovigli and Oia, and it is not surprising that Santorini has become a popular spot for romantic wedding ceremonies. The island also features magnificent volcanic beaches with white, red or black sand, making it a unique destination for travellers in the Cyclades.
GC Privé recommends to visit Imerovigli and Oia, which are considered to be the two most upmarket travel destinations in the island of Santorini.
GC Privé. A World of Luxury.
A unique view of Santorini, Greece

What to do in Santorini 2019 - [ Santorini Greece ] - What to do in Santorini
What to do in Santorini 2019 - [ Santorini Greece ] - what to do in Santorini ?
Santorini scuba diving is great if you are looking for adventure. What else to do if you travel to Santorini? You can hike the Fira Trail on donkeys, you can admire the beautiful Santorini sunset from Oia Village in 2019 or drive atv or quad.
Here are some other things to do in Santorini Greece in 2019:
1. Go cliff jumping at Amoudi Bay.
It was honestly one of the best things I did during my stay in Santorini. You can swim straight off the rocks, or if you are game, climb up the stairs of the massive boulder in the water and do your best dive in!
2. Hike the Fira Trail
If you want a chance to up your Instagram game with some of the BEST photo opportunities Santorini has to offer, this hike is a must. I recommend doing the hike at sunset, as it won’t be as hot at this time of day, AND you’ll get the most beautiful photos at this time of day!
3. Stay in a Cave house
We stayed in a lovely hostel called Caveland in Karterados for five nights during our stay in Santorini. The hostel itself felt wonderfully Grecian- think traditional, white-washed cave-style buildings featuring bright blue doors framed by fuchsia flowers. Complete with a pool, super friendly and helpful staff, and even morning yoga classes, it was incredible as far as hostels go (not to mention a total bargain)! On the downside, the location was quite isolated and was a fifteen-minute walk to get into the main town of Fira. If you are looking to be in the center of all the action, your best bet is to actually stay in Fira, although you may pay a little more to do so.
4 Hire a quad bike and drive around the island
What better way to explore this beautiful island then cruising down the roads with the wind in your hair!? Hiring a quad bike (or ATV) for the day is surprisingly cheap and only requires a standard license. It’s a great way to discover areas that aren’t accessible by bus (and to feel super cool while you’re at it).
Alternatively, if you don’t have a driver license, you could cruise around the island on an electric bike tour instead.
If you want more of an adrenaline dose, Santorini also offers an endless array of activities including helicopter tours, parasailing, and scuba diving.
5. Go on a Sunset Wine Tour
Santorini is home to many fantastic wineries, so make sure you don’t leave the island without sampling the island’s finest grapes! If you want the full experience, take a sunset wine tour, where you will be taken to 3 traditional wineries to taste over 12 wines. On the final stop, you’ll get to sip your wine whilst watching Santorini’s famous sunset- there isn’t really much that can beat wine with a view!
6. Eat Frozen Yogurt for dinner - best thing if you don`t know What to do in Santorini 2019
Alright, I’ll let you off if least make it your second course after 2€ gyros. But seriously, the frozen yogurt I had in Santorini still lingers in my food dreams. If you are in Thira, you must check out Chillbox. They’ve even got Bueno sauce topping to put on your frozen yogurt- it’s almost too good to be true. Once your mouth is in heaven, you can sit back and think about how cool it is that you are eating frozen Greek yogurt in Greece. Yep, that’s next level cool.
7. Jump off a boat into hot springs
Picture this. You’re on a boat. You dive off into the cool Mediterranean ocean. You swim about twenty meters and suddenly, the water changes color and temperature and you’ve just swum into hot springs. This is just another one of those unique things you HAVE to do during your stay in Santorini (just don’t wear your best swimsuit in the hot springs, I’m still mourning over my ruined bikini).
It’s not every day you have the option of dining with arguably one of the best views in the world. Even if you’re on a budget, choose at least one night to splurge a little at one of the many restaurants overlooking the ocean. Time your reservation for sunset and prepare to have your mind (and hopefully tastebuds) blown. The last night we were in Santorini we ate out at Volcano Blue, a reasonably-priced restaurant along the water at Fira with a priceless view.
9. Sunbake (or fry) on the black sand beaches this is What to do in Santorini 2019
For a unique, and to be honest, slightly painful experience, head to the black sand beaches of Kamari and Perissa. Within seconds of stepping on to that hot sand in summer, your feet will fry and you’ll turn three shades darker. But hey, that’s all part of the fun- right?
10. Get the perfect spot to watch the best sunset in the world
So I know it’s an obvious one, but there is a very good reason why this is recommended on every Santorini guide imaginable. I’m not exaggerating when I say that sunset at Santorini. Now you know What to do in Santorini 2019

WHY IS OIA MY FAVORITE TOWN IN SANTORINI? | TRAVEL VLOG
Oia, Santorini truly is a magical place! Breath-taking sunsets, the cutest little white houses, epic sea views, and of course, gyros!

Santorini Travel Tips:
1. Bring EUROS (not dollars)! Or at least exchange your money as soon as you land in the airport in Thira. We went all the way to Oia with US dollars only to find out that Santorinians only accept Euros, and that the only place tp exchange money is in Thira (at any bank). We didn't have money for a taxi or bus ride, so we hitch-hiked our way back to Thira.
2. Wear sunscreen. We made the mistake of not wearing sunscreen on our first day in Santorini and got as burnt as toast. It was windy, so we did even feel the burn happening, but it definitely was.
3. Bring a jacket out with you at night. It was so hot and sunny during the day, but as soon as the sun sets and the winds pick up, it is COLD.
4. There is a super cheap (1.60 euros/person) and easy-to-use bus system that will take you anywhere you want to go in Santorini! Including to and from the airport (much cheaper than a 30 Euro taxi ride to Oia). We were originally going to rent a car, but Ivan forget his drivers license, and it ended up working out for the best! It seemed tricky to drive in those super narrow curvy roads.
5. The people are so friendly and helpful. We received exceptional service everywhere we went!

Take a tour of Santorini in Greece -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I am Naomi and I am very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
Cut into harsh cliffs, Santorini boldy faces the shining Aegean Sea.
Classic white-washed buildings give the island a dazzling feel.
Santorini sits perched atop a volcanic crater, now a lagoon.
Watching ships come off the sea brings memories of celebrated Greek epics.
The island offers plenty of opportunities to relax and to explore its calming surroundings. Dine on its delicious wines and fanciful flavors.
Some believe its volcanic eruption was the source of the legend of Atlantis.
Either way, the island is surely one of epics, legends, and fairy tales.

SANTORINI TRAVEL GUIDE (Top Things To Do In Greece)
SANTORINI TRAVEL GUIDE (Top Things To Do In Greece) This island is best known for its stunning views of the water, amazing sunsets over Oia and the Santorini volcano. In Santorini you can find some of the most luxury and expensive hotels that are in Greece. As for where to stay in Greece? Some of the main areas to stay here include Oia which would be the most expensive and Thira which is the capital of Santorini found right in the middle and since Fira is the hub of the island you’ll have easy access to everything if you stay here. A new up in coming area for boutique hotels is Akrotiri. Even though this area is kind of far out you will be situated near some popular tourist destinations such as the red beach, archaeological park and the lighthouse.
Since there are a lot of different areas to visit in Santorini you’re going to need to figure out some transportation options. there are a few ways to get around the island the most affordable being the bus - which is actually a really nice air conditioned bus that is mainly tourists and the best part of all is it just costs just a few bucks to get to the different parts of the island. you can also hire a driver or rent your own car or ATV.
How long should you stay in Santorini? Spending around 2-4 days here will allow you to see everything and have some time to relax as well. From dining at one of the many Greek restaurants on the island to doing a day trip to the volcano. There is no shortage of both relaxing and adventurous activities here. So definitely make sure to add Santorini to your list of places to visit in Greece.

Santorini, Greece - Part 1; August 2018
Santorini, Greece (part 1)
Click “HD” before watching..
Sharing video highlights/slight vlog-ish of our Santorini Trip – Part 1 (super late upload).
Warning a bit long: If you’re planning to go to Santorini this might be helpful.
Some observations/highlights during this Santorini trip:
1. Places to visit in Santorini – Three Bells of Fira, Imerovigli Anastasi Church, Ammoudi Bay, Byzantine castle ruins, Oia Castle, Atlantis books, Μουσείο Μουσικών Οργάνων Θήρας (Museum), Santorini Sunset view, Perissa Beach, Firá, Akrotíri Archaeological Site and Red Beach, Ancient Thira, Archeological Museum, Firá, Museum of Prehistoric Thira, Blue Domes at Perissa, Imerovigli Anastasi Church
2. Accomodation - We stayed for 3 days in Santorini. I stayed at Valvi Irini (114 sgd per room per night), Villa Kostas (115sgd per room per night). I highly recommend Villa Kostas (Mary the owner showed so much hospitality during my stay). A bit pricey during Summer season (peak). My friend Nhitz stayed at Villa Kasteli also a good place to stay.
3. Transport – Hiring a private Shuttle will cost you 30Euros per trip (a bit pricey), so we highly suggest to take public transpo (bus), it will only cost you 2-3euros per trip. If you can drive, hiring a car for the whole day will be a good option as well.
4. Tours – We only booked the tour package for Sunset Cruise, the rest is DIY (do it yourself) especially for Oia, Santorini, Walking from Fira to Oia is also advisable if you want to see more breathtaking sceneries of Santorini, but please be warned that it would take atleast 2-3 hours of walk in the scourging heat of the sun so bring water bottle with you.
5. Foods – most common that you should try – Souvlaki, Moussaka, Gyros, Feta and Cheese. Ofcourse the Greek Yogurt. Food here is cheaper compared to other European countries (ranging from 7 – 10 euros per meal- they have big servings per plate, so we normally share 1 order for 2 person).
6. Photography – you need to have lots of patience if you want an instagrammble shot at Oia, Santorini, you need to queue for a certain spot just to have that perfect shot.
7. Perissa Beach – Black sand beach, the water was really good that I find it therapeutic, instead of visiting other places, we stayed here for the rest of the day just to relax, that’s how good it was.
8. Visa Application / Insurance – If you’re from Singapore, if Greece is your only destination you can only apply for it at French Embassy. Visa fee from Singapore - $94.20 (Singapore dollar). Insurance is also mandatory for acquiring Schengen visa. I avail mine at FWD – SG$72.80 for coverage of 3 weeks.
9. Locals – as per our experience most of them were accommodating, the taxi driver taught us some of their language. They can understand English, though if not, you can use google translator (it helps).
10. Weather – we went there during summer, and Summer there is really the HOTTTT summer 32-33 degs. (compared to other Europe cities where it is summer but the temp. At morning is at 16deg cels). Use sunscreen if you like. For me, I’m the only person there who used umbrella – trust me it helps a lot. hahaha (too hot), though you might feel judged at first, coz Europeans love the heat of the sun. Don’t forget to bring water if you visit in summer.
11. Wifi / Internet – If you’re from Singapore, we highly recommend Changi Recommends. Around, 5-7 Sgd per day. Or avail of pocket data. Some of my friends bought sim cards from online stores (it will save a lot of penny, though it will limit your internet use – not for millenials.lol)
12. Cost – It is pricier to visit in Summer (coz its their peak season), though its okay as well, coz more activities can be done. Also you don’t need to carry a lot of bulky winter clothes, - tee’s (tshirt) will be enough/good.
13. Language – 99% of people in Santorini speak in Greek (but as per our experience they can easily understand English). We tried to speak in English for this Video – to cater for our foreign friends..lol (pardon the grammar, accent issues). Of course, we don’t know how to speak in greek.
14. Create lots of Memories, i’m thankful to my gorgeous and super beautiful travelmate Nhitz here who’s very selfless in taking our photos. We brought, Mirrorless cam, SLR Cam, DJI stabilizer for videos. (aside from our phone cam)
