Wood transport system in Femundsmarka National Park - Norway
Røros copperworks has left its mark in the area in and around Femundsmarka national park. If you've got the wood, then you've got the ore. The works on the western shore of Femunden were in operation from 1743 to 1822. Through a smart system of canals the lakes were connected with each other to make the wood transport easier. The digging of the canals took 50 years.
The distance that the wood had to cover to the mine kept increasing. The
consumption in the mine and in the smelters was so great, that whole forests disappeared into thin air. Nevertheless, the lumberjacks were better off than their colleagues under ground.

Eine Spätsommer-Wandertour durch die Femundsmarka in Ost-Norwegen. Anreise mit der Fähre Kiel-Oslo, weiter mit dem Bus nach Trysil mit Übernachtung in einer Hütte im Valdalen Gård. Weiter mit dem Bus über Drevsjø nach Røstvollen mit anschließender Wanderung über die norwegisch-schwedische Grenze nach Grövelsjöen. Per Boot über den See nach Ryvang (Norwegen), Wanderung vorbei am Store Svuku über Svukuriset und Røvollen bis Rødsanden und mit dem MS Fæmund II nach Synnervika. Busfahrt nach Røros; Erkundung der Olavsgruve. Rückreise Røros-Oslo per NSB und Flug ab Torp.

This video is shot over 6 days in Femundsmarka, Norway in the summer of 2016. With departure from Elgå we went for at beautiful walk and took the MS Femund 2 back from Røa. This was a beautiful experience and we are already planning our next trip.
As with all my videos, these are made primarily for own memories sake and because I enjoy making them. I hope you'll find it entertaining and feel free to leave a comment

Start of the season - Femund Canoe Camp (2015)
Small spring video made for fun in May 2015 with my dear friend Bengt Magnusson from the small settlement of Sorken in eastern Norway. 40 years ago he came to Sorken from Sweden, lost his heart in this beautiful forgotten land and established and for 40 years also runned the most amazing canoe camp in Europe. FCC lies very close to the fantastic wilderness of Femundsmarka and Gutulia. A true paradise for every adventurous soul and a real chance to spend time with this amazing and experienced man... :-)

A week in Norwegian National Park / Part 1
Marius & Jonathan was in Femundsmarka National Park in Norway for a week! We ate loads of delicious food, and got to fish and even some snowflakes. We enjoyed every single day, and can't wait for another trip with fishing, fire, hiking and food!

rogen and femundsmarka nature reserve,pack= 20 days with dry food and meat, and 10 days that i had to catch my food myself,im not pro yett, butid bet next year i can pack food for half the time cus of the knowledge i got from the wildlife keeper on the swedish border called per and anders who got the epic page svartkjelen.com
