Ferntree Gully Quarry Reserve Fishing for stocked trout
Fishing Ferntree Gully Quarry for stocked trout - Ferntree Gully is a beautiful fishing destination that's stocked with trout and native fish. In this episode I catch 10 stocked rainbow trout yearlings in 90 minutes fishing from the very scenic Ferntree Gully recreational quarry reserve. It's a beautiful location with breathtaking views, active bird life, crystal clear waters and exceptional freshwater fishing.
Victorian fisheries have stocked this system heavily with rainbow trout and recently have also added Murray cod and golden perch. To the already health redfin, estuary perch and trout population found. This is all part of the state governments T1M Target 1 Million by 2020 and Target 10 million by 2022.
This video provides some tips and techniques on how to catch trout, how to improve an amazing ecosystem by practicing catch and release, how to rig up and how to choose appropriate gear selection.
There has also been a new fishing platform installed which offers amazing land base fishing.

Frank Johnson Park aka: Ferntree Gully Quarry, Kerr's Quarry
Frank Johnson Park (renamed in 2019) from Ferntree Gully Quarry. Commercially this site was called Kerrs Quarry and it commenced operations in the 1870s before finally closing in the 1970s. It then lay fallow until 2016 when the local council spent 1.2 million rehabilitating and landscaping it into the current urban oasis it now is.

Another flight of the Drone this time at Ferntree Gully's old quarry turned into Parkland. Winds were a bit unpredictable in the hole so called it early then went back for some more practice at Heany Park Primary School. Flawless Performance.
